Interesting Blogs

First things first.
White Meat – Dedicated to the beauty and splendor of the White Woman.
At first I thought this was some crap blog put up by White Nationalists saying how White women are better than any other women on Earth, since, after all, they are White, and White folks are better than any other folks, especially those nasty Black folks.
But read around a bit, and things get really interesting. This is a blog made by Black males who are dedicated to the beauty and glory of the White female. There is a corresponding Yahoo group called The Pedestal, meaning they want to put White women on a pedestal and worship them.
Considering how many Black males treat their White female lovers like crap, I certainly think worshiping them is better than stealing from them, lying to them, locking them up like prisoners, raping them and beating them. I have known many White women with a thing for Black guys, and these are the stories you hear over and over. Heard so many times, you almost want to warn White women off.
And yet.
And yet.
We have White Meat. If written by White men, it would come off as chauvinist or probably racist crap. From a White woman, more narcissistic chirping and posing, as if we don’t get enough of that. But from Black men, there is something charming here. It can’t possibly be racist, it can only be…worshipful.
The comments are full of other Black men who worship the glory and beauty of our women, and from our unappreciated women smiling and warming in the spotlight. It’s an all-around feel-good, but it’s sure to make a White nationalist fume.
A good companion to White Meat is Abagond. Not exactly an intellectual blog, but definitely smart enough. A Black man from the Caribbean, a dedicated anti-racist, marries a Black woman and starts a family with her. And makes a blog, the counterpart to White Meat, for Black men dedicated to the glory and beauty of Black women.
Commenters are, once again in parallel to the other site, Black males who like Black women and Black women who love to be appreciated. This site is even more strange because it is full of Black women who are steaming, stomping and smoking mad at White men, yet they long to meet, marry and have kids with one.
Most of them say that they really want a Black man, Black women being the most racially loyal of any group, but there are way too many Black women and way too few decent Black men, and a lot of, especially the educated and cultured, Black women are getting tired of waiting out their lives in spinsterhood.
This sexual lopsidedness in the Black community has given rise to such peculiar institutions as “man-sharing”, degrading as it is to Black women.
Though I have dated several Black women myself (and nearly married one of them), I am not sure if I will again. My experiences have been pretty negative. Cynical, using, gold-digging, steal your last dollar, whore mentality does not even begin to do justice.
A lot of Black women are utterly cynical about men, think we are all no-good dogs, and think they should use their vaginas to milk every single last nickel out of our wallets. I had one Black girlfriend who would not even allow me to visit her unless I was going to take her out and waste some money on her, and often there wasn’t even any sexual payback on her end. She wasn’t’ even charging me for sex, she was charging me for her damn time.
Black women in general like the extreme masculinity of Black men, and it’s true that macho as we can be, White men are just not as masculine as Black men. So Black women tend to see us as wimpy and even faggy. I don’t know about the rest of you guys, but I sure don’t appreciate that.
On the other hand, Asian women will treat the same guy the Black woman thinks is a disgusting, meek and wimpy queer like he’s Paul fucking Bunyan. Compared to Asian guys, I guess he is. I like women who make me feel like a man, masculinity being very important to my identity (I note this because I am convinced there are guys to whom masculinity is just not a big deal).
Reading through the comments from the Black women on Abagond’s site, I wanted to run for the door. Yeah, they were scary. If that makes me a wuss, fine, I’m a wuss. The frequent comments about our small dicks and how having a White lover means a Black woman might have to forgo sexual satisfaction were particularly stinging. If that’s the way they feel, they’re losing my sympathy. Keep up with the man-sharing, buy a quality vibrator, or discover bisexuality.

The Fake White Slavemaster Black Slave Rape Epidemic

This about sums it up. Written by a Black Caribbean man.
One of the conceits of the militant Black movement in the US (in practice, that means most US Blacks) is that they are convinced there was some evil White rape epidemic against Indians and Black women. According to this hate Whitey line, White men are the biggest rapists in the past 500 years, or I guess ever. The whole history of White men has been a history of rape of Indian and Black women.
When a Black woman looks in the mirror, she sees centuries of violence, of rape, evil rape, in her veins, in her soul, in her genes. This was a sexist campaign of extermination against Black women. We White dudes conspired to pollute their illustrious and Nobel Prize winning Black gene pool! Such a crime against humanity! And we thought we were just “mejorando la raza” as they call marrying and breeding up-White in Latin America.
What’s curious about all of this is that White dudes pretty much stopped raping Black chicks altogether in recent years. Most of you have seen the figures that drive White nationalists into conniptions. 37,000 White women raped by Blacks every year. Zero Black women raped by White men every year. So, the greatest rapists that ever lived have suddenly knocked it off for decades now.
What happened? For one thing, it’s not legal anymore. At one time, it was about legal for a White to rape a Black woman, and maybe for a Black man too. No one cared. Black female victims did not count.
An interesting figure is that by 1865, 75% of US Blacks were yet unmixed. Yeah, some rape epidemic. Any Latin American country can do better than that. Now, supposedly 75% of US Blacks got some White in dey veins. Now, how’s abouts did dats happen? I figger a lot of sexin of White guys and Black ladies afta 1865. Mostly consensual, too, I bet.
There is a phrase in the South that women cringe at. It’s called “splitting the Black Oak”. It means that young single White guys, back in the day, before sex was free and all that, would go lose their virginity and become a man by sexing a Black girl or lady. They lived on the other side of town and no doubt could be had for a price. Women and girls have never given it away for free too much, sadly.
At the time, loose White chicks were probably in short supply in the South, and most single White women were probably virgins. So you want to pop your cherry, you head over to the dark side of the tracks. Probably not much raping going on here. Black women were very poor and probably screwing White was moving up in the world, as it is to this day. White men offered money, favors, whatever men always do. Black women were happy to trade.
Much of the fake rape epidemic occurred from about 1830 on. After slavery was outlawed, it was awfully costly to go buy yourself a slave. By 1830 or so, 30% of workers in the fields were White “wage slaves” working for hourly wages alongside Black slaves. By 1860, it was 70%. Slaves by that time were largely contained to the largest plantations. No one else could afford one.
The Civil War, like Sendero’s rebellion in Peru in the 1980’s, was a race against time. Slavery was dying anyway. By the Civil War, a slave cost $60,000 in today’s dollars. Few could afford one. We have many reports of owners distressed about White workers having sex with Black female slaves, often for money or various favors. These women were slaves, and they needed every break they could get.
It’s well-known that many slave owners had mulatto mistresses, often to the wife’s consternation. She was a kept woman. For a slave, this was moving up in the world big-time. No doubt it was voluntary on the part of many female house Negroes.
The same Black women who scream that we White guys are the Greatest Rapists That Ever Lived also fume that we say Black women are “unrapeable”. The ultimate insult. Cognitive disconnect anyone? These same Black women fuming about the White male as the most evil creature that ever stalked the Earth openly admit that they want to marry and have kids with a White man.
Go figure.

The Peopling of Indonesia

Repost from the old site. Updated September 20, 2016. I am republishing this post because I have significantly reworked the genetics of the Indonesians. Instead of being mostly Austronesians from Taiwan, I now say they are mostly related to an ancient Melanesian Dai group from SE China that came 10-20,000 years ago. This group imposed itself on the original people, who were Papuans.
Later, Austronesians came through, leaving languages but only some genes.
The breakdown of Indonesians is approximately 70% Ancient Dai (Melanesian), 15% Austronesians from Taiwan (probably mostly Paiwan and Ami) and 15% Papuan.
The ancient Dai appear to have undergone the same progression towards Mongoloid as occurred with Melanesians throughout Inland SE Asia. In island SE Asia (Melanesia) and the East of Indonesia, this progression was much less complete, so people still have strong Melanesian elements. The degree to which some Melanesians resemble Negritos is rather striking.
To sum up, the new data indicates that most Indonesians are not related primarily to Taiwanese aborigines as originally thought. Instead they are related to Daics from far SE China who left their homeland during post-glacial flooding that occurred after 18,000 years ago. Only 20% of the Indonesian line comes from recent (past 4,000 years) Taiwanese aborigine immigrants.
The prehistory of Indonesia is an interesting question, but it is little studied.

Typical Indonesian men. The one on the left looks very Chinese or Filipino. The one on the right looks a little different. Indonesians are dark, but the place is right on the equator, so this is to be expected.

Very early man, Homo Erectus, has been found in the islands dating way back.
A multiregional theory has been suggested for the evolution of man in Indonesia, China and maybe other areas. This theory has been rejected, however there may be some continuity in China with older forms dating back 120,000 years or so. The Chinese, Japanese and now Indonesians all want to say they came from a different monkey.
The theory is also very popular with White Nationalists who are extremely insulted by the idea of being descended from African Blacks. In Indonesia and China, these ideas have more to do with the spread of idiotically antiscientific nationalist-based theories than anything else.
In Indonesia, the nation’s top archaeologist deliberately destroyed bones of Homo Florensis recently in spite over the rejection of his pet theory, that the Homo Erectus relative that lived in modern times are just modern humans who are microencephalic. This theory seems crazy but is making the rounds in peer-reviewed journals nevertheless.
Nationalism and science has never worked well, with some particularly gruesome results especially in the past century. Florensis is a tiny midget of an early man who is a different species from us. They may have lived up until 150 years ago, but the hard evidence so far shows they lived until 13,000 years ago at the latest. I believe they lived until the arrival of the Europeans. It is possible some may yet exist to this day.
There are a lot of questions about whether or not Florensis and locals bred in. Some of the locals are very short, and some even think they may have Florensis like features. Locals say that the Little People are their ancestors.
The Little People would come to their villages and hide in the forest watching them. Locals would leave food for the Little People in baskets, and the Little People would come when no one was around and take the food – they were described as very shy. It is amazing that such a primitive man could live in such proximity to modern Homo without genocidal results.
In the past, contacts between more modern civilizations and more primitive ones usually had genocidal results. Examples include Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, Africa, the Americas, Siberia, and probably other places.
Before Florensis, there is Java Man, who dates back possibly to 2 million years. It is due to the prominence of Java Man that the Indonesian “scientists” have indulged in their childish and petty behavior. Actually, the Indonesian case above is more complicated than that – the destroyer of the skulls is the grand old man of Indonesian archeology, and he cannot be touched.
There are a number of younger archaeologists there who think the man is an old fool, which he is, but no can do a thing about him.
The question of Homo Erectus being put aside, we now turn to the development of modern Homo in Indonesia. Here, very little is known for some reason, but we do have that 33,000 yr. old find in the Malukus. These people are called Melanesians for lack of a better word, but it also appears that there were cultural contacts with Australians across the straights. I believe that a better term for these early people is Papuans.
At this time, Melanesians were probably generalized all throughout SE Asia.
Sometime around 10-15,000 years ago, these Papuans populated most of the Mulukus. The nature of the aforementioned contacts with the Australians, genetic or otherwise, is not known, but that such early modern man had such excellent boats is stunning. Much is made by racists of the primitiveness and low IQ’s of Aborigines.
However, we should note the profound cultural achievement it took to make those boats to get to Australia in the first place. But we had great boats when we first left the African Horn at Somalia and Djibouti, went to Yemen and moved along the coast all the say to SE Asia, stopping along the way in Iran, Yemen, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Indonesia, New Guinea, Melanesia and Australia.
There is a chain of Negritos in every one of these places, probably the last remainders of the first modern men that left Africa 60-70,000 years. In Australia, the Negritos went to the Aborigine Major Race; in Papua, they went to the Papuan Major Race, in Melanesia to the Melanesian Minor Race. However, recent data suggests that the Melanesian race is extremely diverse, so it may have to be re-evaluated.
Some analyses show Melanesians clustering fairly close to Papuans, yet others show Papuans as a vast major race, tied with Aborigines as the most diverse on Earth after Africans. They are also some of the furthest away from Africans.
Whites are more closely related to Africans than Papuans are, yet everyone from Afrocentrists to White Nationalists wants to say Papuans are Black people. In the North, they went on to form the early basis for all members of the Asian Macro-race today.
The standard history is that some unknown Melanesians, about whom we know little, were the original inhabitants of Indonesia. Recent research sheds some light on the genesis of these Melanesians.
Turner, a specialist in teeth, using dental morphological traits, hypothesized that two migrations originated from central China about 20-30,000 YBP (years before present).
One group, the Sinodonts, expanded northward into China, Siberia and across the Bering land bridge to the New World. The second group, the Sundadonts, moved southward into Southeast Asia and Indonesia, and later through Melanesia, Micronesia, and Polynesia.
This is probably the group that gave rise to the Melanesians.
But the picture is more complicated than that.
Indonesia was settled independently by ancient Dai. These Dai came from from Hainan and Guangxi in far southern China about 10-20,000 YBP. They may have left due to rising sea levels that flooded their lands. The ancient Dai must have looked like Melanesians.
The people most closely resembling the ancient Dai are the Taiwan aborigines. It is true that the Indonesians do not much resemble the Taiwan aborigines genetically, and their genetic structure in general is quite a bit different from Filipinos.
However, this study does not explain how Indonesians came to speak Austronesian languages obviously derived ultimately from Taiwan.
It is clear to me that when the Austronesians pushed through Indonesia several thousand years ago, the locals adopted the Austronesian tongues of the Austronesian colonizers, abandoning whatever tongues they were speaking at the time (I figure Papuan languages).
Recent tests indicate that the Indonesians derive 71% from the ancient Dai, 14% from the Taiwan aborigines (Austronesians) and 15% from Papuans. This study looks at Y chromosomes. 10-20,000 years ago, these ancient Dai went from Hainan and Guangxi (their homeland) to Taiwan to become the Taiwan aborigines and also on to Indonesia in two separate waves.
They probably genetically swamped and colonized the native peoples, who were probably Papuans.
Today, only the Malukus identify as Melanesians, despite the fact that there are Melanesians on Alor and in other places. On Timor, Sumba and Flores, there are people who are at least part-Melanesian who do not identify as Melanesian. Some of these people are up to 80% Melanesian, as in Alor.
The standard history of the rest of the islands such as Sulawesi, Sumatra and Bali is that Austronesians came 4,000 years ago and pushed the native Melanesians to the east. However, this must be wrong. Instead of pushing Melanesians east, they bred in with them.
Most Indonesians are an example of a race that used be common all through SE Asia, including Vietnam – the Ancient SE Asian Race. This race was widespread throughout SE Asia 2-4,000 years ago. It is Mongoloid with considerable Australoid admixture.

Tsunami victims in Aceh on Sumatra. They are quite dark as you can see, but that is a pigmentation process to enable females to store folic acid for pregnancy in order to give birth to viable infants. Protection against sunburn is an interesting theory, but sunburn, even melanoma, does not kill you before you have children.
They are members of the Island SE Asian Race. They may have an origin in part with the Paiwan aborigines of Taiwan.

The Sumba and probably all of the other Lesser Sunda Islands are inhabited by people who are a mixture between Austronesians from Taiwan and native Melanesians – Ancient SE Asians, as described above. Timor also has Papuans and Polynesians. Early man arrived on Timor as early as 40,000 years ago. These people must have been Papuans.
The Mulukus such as Babar and Ambon are inhabited by mixtures of Austronesians from Taiwan and Papuans in the case of Ambon and Melanesians in the case of Babar.
4,000 YBP, the Austronesians arrived in Indonesia from Taiwan. Mostly, these were the Ami, but there is a possibility that other Taiwanese aborigines were there also, in particular, the Paiwan.
These were the Austronesians, the greatest mariners of all time, who settled the Philippines, Indonesia, coastal New Guinea, Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia. There are even said to have moved into mainland SE Asia, particularly Malaysia. In that case, they probably went to Sumatra first and then moved across the water to Malaysia.

These Indonesian Muslim women praying look very much like Malays. It is not known where they are from. They may be members of the Malay Race found on Java and Borneo in Indonesia described at the end of the post.

They even seem to be a major component of the Vietnamese. Everywhere they went, the Austronesians brought a cultural revolution with them, often upgrading existing cultures, certainly so in the case of New Guinea.
Austronesians arrived in Indonesia at least 4,000 years ago by boat, probably from the Philippines, where they already probably had a mature settlement. However, the Austronesians show up in Timor as early as 5,000 years ago, so 4,000 years BP may be too late.
Next, at least on Timor, and probably throughout Indonesia, a wave of Proto-Malays moved through. A group settled Bali 5,000 years ago who may have been Proto-Malays. Proto-Malays are also important in the settlement of the Philippines and Malaysia.
The proto-Malays who settled in the Philippines were said to be short and very hairy. The hairiness is odd for people living in a hot climate. If this description is true, I suggest that the Proto-Malay may have been an Ainu-like people, the Proto-NE Asians. A Southern origin is possible for the Ainu. The pre-Ainu, the Jomon, are said to have origins in Thailand 18,000 years ago. They got on boats and sailed to Japan.
These hairy Proto-Malays may have been related to the pre-Jomon in Thailand long ago. Proto-Malays show up in the Philippines over 5,000 years BP, before the arrival of the Austronesians. The Proto-Malays who settled the Philippines and Indonesia are said to have had an origin in South China and Inland SE Asia.
However, in Malaysia, the Proto-Malay are said to have been created in Malaysia 3,000 years ago as Austronesians bred in with existing Senoi, an Australoid, Negrito-like, or best of all, Veddoid people. The Proto-Malays are poorly understood, and some of what is said about them is contradictory.
Austronesians show up in Sulawesi, Java, the Mulukus and Borneo 3,500 years ago. Austronesians moved from Borneo to Sumatra 2,500 years ago, and from there up into Malaysia to become a component of the Malay Race.

A beautiful woman on Samosir Island on Sumatra. She may be a Toba Batak, who are members of the Micronesian Race. Unless I am hallucinating, I think that many Micronesians look something like this. A possible explanation is that the Batak are the remains of those Austronesian-Melanesian mixes who populated Polynesia and then left Polynesia to populate Micronesia, but the situation is quite confused.
In the background is one of the famous Toba Batak bark houses. She is in traditional dress. Note the resemblance to a Filipina. The Batak, like the Sea Dayak of northern Borneo and the Nesiot and Igorot of the Philippines, are linked to the first Austronesian wave out of Taiwan 5,000 years ago. This group is also linked to the Paiwan tribe on Taiwan.

A cultural revolution in Indonesia called Đông Sơn was paralleled by similar developments throughout SE Asia. This culture was centered in the Red River Valley of northern Vietnam and northward in Southern Kwangzi and Kwangtung of China, while being generalized throughout Indonesia, showing up about 3,000 years ago. Originally, the Đông Sơn were said to be Austronesians, but the latest thinking is that this is an ancient Tai group.
Wet-rice cultivation spread throughout the islands with Đông Sơn, but the native Melanesians were already engaging in wet-rice cultivation an incredible 10,000 years ago, making Indonesia one of the earliest sites for agriculture on Earth.
The Đông Sơn culture was developing in Vietnam from 2,200-2,800 YBP.
The Đông Sơn kept buffaloes and pigs, fished, grew rice and, in a clue to their Austronesian nature, sailed in long dugout canoes. An Iron Age people, they utilized metallurgy to make fine bronze objects, including drums and figurines.
Racially, the Đông Sơn peoples belonged to the Indonesian or Ancient Southeast Asian group – a Southern Mongoloid with strong Australoid elements (Cuong, 1996).
Đông Sơn also had elements of Dai culture from Yunnan and Laos, Khmer culture from Cambodia, Tibeto-Burman culture, and the prehistoric Plain of Jars culture in Laos. So all of these elements from mainland SE Asia and Southern China went into the stew that became Indonesian culture.
Now, Indonesians are members of either the SE Asian Major Race, the Oceanian Major Race or the Papuan Major Race. For the most part, they seem to be some sort of a mixture between ancient Daic Melanesians and Austronesian Chinese (Taiwanese).
Haplogroups C, E and F in Figure 1 here, seem to have a southern origin. These strains are apparent on a minor scale in Java, Borneo and Sulawesi. But in Southern Borneo, they reach levels up to 40%. Haplogroups G, H and L are also associated with Taiwan, the Philippines and to a lesser extent South China.
L is clearly the Ami of Taiwan, but G and H are less well-understood. This paper suggests that they have a southern (Melanesian) genesis, but that does not make much sense. H is present at high levels in the Taiwanese Atayal, Bunum and Paiwan, and G is present at high levels in the Bunum and the Paiwan. G is at even higher levels in Javans.

Some beautiful typical Indonesian women with the usual phenotype. Note the resemblance with Thais, Filipinas, and possibly Khmers. These women are Torajans, who look somewhat like the Batak people pictured above.

On a principle coordinates map here (Figure 4), Indonesians cluster close to Filipinos, the Ami of Taiwan and Southern Chinese.
Indonesians today constitute several races. Papuans and Melanesians were mentioned above. The Toba Batak are Micronesians, but how they ended up in northern Sumatra is a mystery.
Indonesians on Java and northern Borneo are members of the Malay Race, also found in Malaysia. Indonesians from Sumatra, Bali and the Sea Dayak of northern Borneo, along with the Paiwan aborigines from Taiwan, are members of the Island SE Asian Race.
The Sea Dayak are also linked anthropologically with the first wave of Austronesians out of Taiwan 5,000 years ago, along with the Nesiot and Igorot in the Philippines. The suggestion is that the first wave of Austronesians may have been related to the Paiwan tribe.
This clustering is odd, and suggests that the Paiwan, in addition to the Ami, may have been among the Austronesian seafarers who populated Indonesia.

Click to view details. Map showing the Paiwan, Atayal, Bunum and Ami aborigines of Taiwan. The Paiwan seem to have a relationship with the Sea Dayak of North Borneo, the Balinese, and the Sumatrans. This indicates that the Paiwan, located on the lower right on the map, may have helped to settle Indonesia as Austronesians along with the Ami who are usually associated with Austronesians. Note that both the Paiwan and the Ami were properly positioned to colonize island SE Asia.

The Indonesians of Sulawesi, the Lesser Sundas and Borneo are members of the mainstream Indonesian Race.

New Cavalli-Sforza Gene Maps

Here are two new really cool Cavalli-Sforza gene maps (scroll towards the end to see the maps). I have modified my analysis of the races of mankind accordingly by splitting East African Race into Sudanese-Barya, Amharic and Tigrean somewhat arbitrarily, but I think nevertheless appropriately. Along with the Egyptian split-off, I now have 90 minor races of man.

A Kosonke girl from Mali. The people of the Sahel and the remains of an 18,000 year old Caucasian invasion that pushed them south and bred into them. The Sahelians probably originally inhabited the coast until the invasion. I was unable to place the Kosonke into a race.

The Barya are a settled agricultural group on the border between Eritrea and Sudan.

A Fulani boy from the Sahel. These people are about 50-50 Black and White, but everyone is going to throw them in Black. Why? I was not able to categorize the Sahelian Fulani into a separate race, however the Fulani of Senegal, the Peur, do get one, along with Wolof and Serer as the Wolof-Serer-Peur Race. This race is located in Senegal and is made of three racially disparate tribes that have clustered in that land for some reason. The rationale for their isolation and divergence is not known.

For one thing, Nilotic and Bantu are clearly defined groups, and there is not much more distance between them than between the new groups from East Africa.

The Pygmies of Africa. Pygmies go back probably 45,000 years ago in Africa and this is about when they split with other Africans. Research is very difficult in this area because it is a steaming jungle where bones do not tend to survive to be examined tens of thousands of years later. Pygmies are one of the most diverse of the main Negroid African groups, as you can see in the gene map below.
Their short size is an adaptation to a jungle where it is very hot. A small body dissipates heat better than a larger one. Consider a one-bedroom apartment in which an air conditioner is good enough to cool off the whole place. Now put that air conditioner in a mansion. It won’t cool it down much. This is why large bodies heat up quite a bit in the tropics. If you are small and compact, you cool off so much better.
I split Mbuti Pygmies off into their own race, and also the Biaka Pygmies along with the Sara Nilotics in a Biaka-Sara Race. This race is quite strange because Biaka Pygmies look like the folks above, and the Sara Nilotics look something like a Tutsi. This goes to show you how genes can cluster together groups that look dramatically different.
The Biaka are located in the Central African Republic. However, the Sara are located in the Central African Republic alongside the Biaka. They are also located right next door in Chad. Their geographic convergence may explain their genetic clustering.
All of these groups over there in Ethiopia are incredibly ancient.
A boy from Mali. You can see that many people here have very light, almost golden-looking skin. I think they have a nice looking skin color.
It is my opinion that it is from this region that Caucasians descended about 45,000 years ago in Africa. A closer bet for the common ancestor is probably the Masai to the south in Kenya.
The Masai of Kenya. The possible remnants of the African Blacks that birthed the Caucasian race in East Africa 45,000 years ago. Look hard at grandma, White Supremacists. The one on the left looks like she could be a proto-Caucasian or really more a pre-Caucasian. These people may also be considered the Hamites of East Africa, though the term is not used much anymore.
The Masai are with the Shilluk, the Nuer, the Dinka, the Luo, the Turkana, the Karanojo and the Mabaan in a Nilotic Race.
The Caucasoid appearance of many of these folks is often said to be due to Caucasoid admixture, and this is true, but there is also excellent genetic evidence that this group may indeed have sprung forth the line that went to Caucasians.
A Turkana woman of Kenya. She seems to have more of a Negroid appearance. Perhaps the Turkana are the remains of the group that split off Caucasians. The are Nilotics. The Turkana have been studied a lot by anthropologists because their culture has a lot of free interpersonal aggression (that is, it is allowed and not sanctioned), yet they have a low homicide rate. Perhaps they are letting the steam out?
In contrast, Eskimos, New Guineans, and Bushmen have cultures that are low-conflict and affectional yet have high homicide rates.
The Turkana are members of the same Nilotic Race described above.
Also, on the basis of the second chart, I will gingerly split Egyptians off from Egyptians, Libyans, Moroccans and Tunisians.
A very cute Tunisian woman. This woman is clearly mostly European in phenotype. She could be a Spaniard or an Italian. Tunisians are members of the North African Race. This group includes Tunisians, Canarians, Moroccans and Libyans. It is probably made up of a Berber base overlaid with Arab invaders.
There is some Black admixture, but not a great deal – it probably averages about 13% across the group, but some groups such as the Kabilye of Algeria are 1.5% Black. These lighter groups may include more Southern European admixture.
A Moroccan Berber woman who could easily be a Spaniard. The Berbers are one of the most ancient groups of Caucasians and are highly variable.
A very interesting type from Morocco. This man is clearly Caucasian, but he is not a typical type at all.
A Moroccan man. This man could easily pass for an Italian. This phenotype is very common in the region.
This is a Black Berber from Morocco. The Berbers are probably on the line between Blacks and Whites. In many cases, it is pretty hard to throw them into either Black or White. The Berbers do indicate the truth to the Leftist “race is amorphous” game. There is a bit of truth to all sorts of things, but that does not make them true in toto.
More Black Berbers, this time from Morocco. Berbers are quite possibly some of the most ancient European types.
A Moroccan man who could clearly be a Spaniard. Clearly genes were going back and forth across the Sea here quite a bit. Black genes are only 4% in Spaniards.
A Moroccan Berber boy. Berbers are clearly one of the essential ancient Caucasian stocks. They were formed in East Africa long ago, then went from there west to North Africa, their homeland. Then there are all sorts of complicated movements back and forth between North Africa, the Middle East, the Caucasus and even India involving them and other proto-Caucasian groups.
All of these movements are part of the process of the creation of the various Caucasian subraces and were occurring 20-50,000 years ago. The Berbers go back 50,000 years in the region. One of their main lines came out of Palestine, and from there, they moved west. There is another line in the Berbers from NE Africa, but it is more of a Caucasoid line than a Black line.
The truth is that almost all North Africans, whether they call themselves Arabs or Berbers, are really related to Berbers. Genetically, the Berbers are: 34% East African non-Black (North African), 27% European, 21% Near Eastern, 12% Black, 6% North African.
More Moroccan Blacks here. In the South of Morocco, the folks get pretty Black, though they are often still considered Berbers. There are White Berbers and Black Berbers, and it is quite hard to stick Berbers into either group.
You almost have to place Berbers on an individual basis into Black or White, which in a way makes folly of ethnic nationalist obsession with racial category while at the same time adding fuel to the “no such thing is race” line, which is actually folly, but like much folly, carries a grain of truth.
Much is made of the race of the ancient Egyptians by both Blacks, including Black Supremacists, who are probably even stupider than the White kind, and of course White Supremacist idiots, who always chime in on all these race debates and get it all wrong.
An Egyptian man in a market. As you can see, they are mixed-race people. This man clearly has some Black in him. Check out the water pipes. Egyptians are members of the Egyptian Race. North Africans other than Berbers fall into three races – the Algerian Race, the North African Race and the Egyptian Race.
White Supremacist types claim that Egyptians were Caucasian and not Black, and this is true more or less, although modern-day Egyptians are about 9% Black. Common anthropological knowledge is that the Egyptians who built the pyramids and those of today are racially nearly identical folks. No matter what all went down millennia ago in the Nile Valley, the people didn’t change much.
Egyptians from the Aswan Dam region of Egypt. As you can see, they have either been out in the desert sun a lot or else they are part Black. Moving south, Egyptians get a lot darker and probably a lot Blacker. At some point, we are into a new race altogether that I call the Nubian Race, but I am not even sure where that line is.
I dated a woman from Egypt once, with clearly ~30% Black in her. She said the reputation with Arab men in Cairo was that the Black woman was hot, and the Arab woman was more for a wife. Part-Black women were quite sought after for this purpose. So much for White Supremacists who say no one wants a part-Black woman.
It is interesting how White Supremacists claim Egyptians for the purpose of denying Blacks their Great Civilization need, but at the same time reject Egyptians scornfully as non-Whites unfit to live in White countries. Cognitive dissonance?
Blacks say Egyptians were Black, but that is really just pitiful, because Blacks are grasping for some kind of ancient glory in Ancient Egypt, for it is a great civilization.
Clearly there are Blacks and part-Blacks in Egypt, but the majority of the genome is mostly Caucasian. The pyramids are in the South of Egypt, and the folks down there get a lot Blacker.
There is no need for such folly. Most ethnic groups do not have histories of earth-shattering civilizational achievements. This is true even in groups with fairly high IQ’s like Filipinos, Indonesians, Malays, Thai and many Amerindian groups. We could go on and on.
African Blacks have a history that is not really anything to be ashamed of, especially from around Nigeria and West Africa. South of that, things are a lot poorer culturally, but those were probably mostly Bushmen stocks who got swept away by the Bantu Expansion coming out of the border of Cameroon and Nigeria 3,500 years ago.
All of the existing Sub-Saharan Blacks can claim the heritage of the Bantu Expansion, except for the San types. It is true that the San have not achieved much culturally, but they are not the same Black subrace as almost all African Blacks, nor are they the same race as US Blacks, so don’t conflate San with African and African-American.
This is really fodder for another post, but the horrible White Supremacist line of Sub-Saharan Africa as an eternal backwater of idiocy and stagnation is not correct. Nor is it true that Black African achievements all came by way of North Africans. Therefore, there is no need for Blacks to go on pitiful fishing expeditions in Egypt in search of ancient Black glory.
These charts are from the Majority Rights wiki, which is one of the worst of the mainstream White Supremacist sites. However, they do have tons of nice genetic stuff to poach, so poach we will. The first map below is an excellent one of all of the races of mankind, and I decided that every group on the tree was a separate race in the piece linked above, and broke many of them down further.
There were some exceptions. I put Japanese and Korean into one race, even though the Japanese would be insulted by that. The truth is that all good data shows that they cannot be separated genetically, so Japanese Supremacists who hate or dislike Koreans (arguably most Japanese people in Japan) need to rinse out their brains.
Fighting between brothers is always particularly horrible, as the cops used to say when they would come out when my brothers and I were pretty much trying to kill each other in our folks’ house for a while there.
The important point is the profound distance of the Negroids and the East Africans from everyone else and even from each other.
I am not going to say they are subspecies at all (this is a most horrible habit White Supremacists have when they discuss race). All humans can mate and we may be very closely related, although there is intense debate about this now coming from race realists and especially White Supremacists.
I don’t think human descent went according to this chart if you look at it like a flow chart, as Blacks did not go to Whites and then to Asians.
Note that in the map below, Filipinos are the one Asian group most closely related to South Chinese. How odd.
Fig. 1: This is a racial map of the entire human genome. It is discussed above. This is just one of way of looking at racial differences in genes, which is all that matters in splitting race, if you ask me.White Supremacists, like phrenologists of yore, like to measure heads, but that is stupid, and neither is it all that productive.
Modern anthropologists only measure modern heads to compare them to older crania to look for relationships between extinct and ancient stocks from 12,000-44,000 years ago to living persons today. One reason to do this is to give us a visual example of what these extinct stocks looked like, but it doesn’t necessarily imply relationship, as there is a lot of coincidental convergence in human skulls.
I can show you photos of Caucasian-looking types from most racial stocks (the photos are at the end of the post). “Caucasian” is just one of the ways that the human face can form during recent evolution in the past 50,000 years ago. It’s sort of like a set of clothes being tried on by folks all over the globe.
There is one great race who made it their own, but Caucasoid appearances among unrelated existing or extinct stocks (Kennewick Man, for instance) do not imply relationship with modern Caucasians, extinct or modern. This is why White Supremacists are utter morons, as usual, for claiming Kennewick Man as ancient White Man in America. He looks like a Polynesian or an Ainu, and he’s not Caucasian, and that is that.
In a way, it’s just parallel evolution, and if that phrase makes you sick, just roll it around a bit in the mouth til it tastes good.

Fig. 2: This is a genetic map of the people of Africa. North Africans are mostly Caucasian people. This is probably because a large wave of ancient Caucasians came down out of the south of Europe 18,000 years ago into North Africa and conquered, pushed South, killed off or genetically swamped existing African Blacks to the point where North Africans are about 13% Black on average.
Down a bit to the Sahel, we find a population 53% White, but they look Black, so no White person on Earth will claim them as White. On the other hand, these are clearly mixed race folks.
In this region, the complex of social race reaches to new heights. Many Ethiopians insist that they are White and not Black, and apparently look down on Black Africans near them. On the other hand, the Sahelians are 47% Black, so to say they are not Black is mistaken also. And the end of the Sahara to the South, we enter the Heart of Darkness in Africa and a much darker group of people, except possibly in East Africa.
I said above I could show you photos from many obscure major races who seem to have developed a Caucasian appearance, in most cases through parallel development. Check it out.
I swear this Papuan guy looks like an old friend of mine from high school who was part Mexican and part Greek. A member of the Papuan Race. This is a major race of mankind in and of itself, completely distinct from all other groups. The closest group to them are the Aborigines, but the Papuans are extremely distant from them also. Curiously, Papuans are grouped within the Asian Macro Race.
Here is another Papuan dude who looks Caucasian to me, but maybe it is just the weird get-up hiding his features. Screw tats and dying your hair. I dare you to dress up like this and go out in public.
I am sure White Supremacists will scream, but this Ghanaian chief has a Caucasian appearance. He has about zero Caucasian admixture, like most West Africans. More convergence. A member of the West African Race. This group is closely related internally and even to Bantus and Nilotics.
Although this seems odd given the deep genetic divergence of Africans, it seems that within Africa itself, things are not extremely diverse. This is probably because so many Africans have been breeding in with each other for so long.
Now, this Fijian cat looks really cool, and I swear he looks Caucasian too, but maybe I am just imaging things again. Anyway, he looks great. Fijians are often thought to be Melanesians, and they are, but they also have heavy admixture of Polynesian. And yes, those are completely different races altogether, and their relationship to each other is quite controversial.
Melanesians are clearly related to the Australian – Papuan split that split off from Negritos 50,000 years ago in the South Pacific. They are a geographically vast, extremely diverse and poorly understood race. In the West of their lands, in Eastern Indonesia, they have some Taiwanese admixture, but no more than 20%. Polynesians are either totally Taiwanese, or a mixture of about 1/2 Taiwanese and 1/2 Polynesian.
This is still being fleshed out as I write this, and it is quite a hot area of theory, with new findings coming out all the time. The battle is between separate theories, Fast Boat and Slow Boat, for the birth of the Polynesians. It’s not clear who is winning right now, but it’s really an area for another post.
Melanesians are members of the Melanesian Race. I included them under a major race called Oceanians, a subgroup under the Macro Asian Race. The group includes Fijians, Vanuatuans, New Ireland Islanders, Papuan Melanesians, and Indonesians from the islands around Alor in the far east.

The Peopling of the Philippines

Repost from the old site. Updated April 2, 2012.
The peopling of the Philippines is a bit better understood than the peopling of Indonesia described in my another post. At least we know that most of the Philippines was first settled long ago by Negritos.

An Aeta Negrito woman of the Philippines. The Aeta live mostly in Northern Luzon. White Nationalists and Afrocentrists both insist that these folks are Black people, but they are very distant from African Blacks. White people are much closer to Blacks than these Negritos. Genetically, these people resemble the Filipinos they live with.Their skulls resemble other Australoid types such as Papuans and Aborigines. Genetically, they are classed as Asians. They are part of the Southeast Asian Major Race. Their minor race is known as the Philippines Negrito Race. It includes the Ati, Aeta and, strangely, the Palau of Micronesia.

There is also another Negrito race in the Philippines – the Mamanwa Philippines Negrito Race. The woman and child above are both Mamanwas. The woman has the typical woolly hair, but the baby has the wavy, Veddoid-like hair seen in many Mamanwas.
The Mamanwa are a group of Philippine Negritos from northeastern Mindanao that are very different from all of the rest of the Negritos in the area. They live in Surigao del Sur in northeastern Mindanao, especially near Mount Hilong-Hilong.
They are thought to be the last remains of the original Negritos to move into the Philippines. There are considerable differences in stature and blood proteins between the Mamanwas and the other Negritos, and they may represent separate migrations.
Excellent photos of modern-day Mamanwas, a group of only 5,000 or so people, can be seen here. I cannot help but notice the resemblance to the Veddoid people of India and Sri Lanka and the Senoi of Malaysia. A few have woolly Negrito hair, but look at how many have the wavy Veddoid hair.
The Mamanwa language seems to be in good shape, judging by the figure that only 7% of the Mamanwa can read and write in their second language. Most Philippine Negrito languages are in bad if not terrible shape; the Mamanwa probably benefit from isolation in the jungle.
Here is a linguistics text on Mamanwa. This called a “text”, in this case a “text” of Mamanwa. It means it is a snippet of Mamanwa, with English translation usually written interlineally so we can see not only what the text means, but what the parts of each word mean too, as even the words are divided into morphemes and translated as best they can be.
The text in most primitive groups usually has to do with myths, legends or stories of the ethnic group, rather than stories about day to day behavior. In this case, it is interesting that the Mamanwa, the oldest Negritos on the Philippines, have a story about the time of their ancestors, when the Mamanwa were “like children”. I guess this means that the early Mamanwa had not reached a very high level of civilization.
Sometimes these stories seem silly or boring to me, but usually they have a lot of meaning for the group who tells them.

Unlike many other places where the Negritos seem to have died out or transcended to other forms, in the Philippines they still exist in a relatively pristine form, even if they are going extinct, culturally, linguistically and probably racially.
Although some give the Negrito population at as low as 32,000, I say that there are 119,606 Negritos left in the Philippines, most of whom are still speaking Negrito languages, based on my estimate from here. The total Negrito population, including those who have given up on their native languages, is not known. They are found throughout the archipelago in various types.
They long ago lost their original languages and now speak Austronesian languages related to the Austronesian settlers who began arriving 5,000 years ago. Philippine Negritos have bred in heavily with standard-issue Filipinos such that the Negritos are now closer to Filipinos than to any other group.

A Dumagat Negrito woman from northern Luzon with her family. The hair at first looks like the Afro a kinky-haired African can grow, but it is actually woolly and not kinky. Dumagat is a generic name for speakers of many Negrito languages in northern Luzon.

On the other hand, Filipinos do not seem to have much Negrito in them. Genetically, we can see only tiny traces of the original Negritos in the Filipino genome. Similar traces can be seen in Micronesians and probably in Malays and Indonesians. These traces range from .02 to .11% – truly minuscule.
Anthropologically, Filipino skulls look SE Asian. Nor do Filipinos look Negrito. In appearance they resemble other Austronesians like Taiwanese aborigines, Indonesians and Malays.
While Philippines Negrito genes look Filipino, Negrito skulls look Australoid, clustering with Aborigines, the Ainu, Tamils, Aborigines, the Sakai of Malaysia, Papuans, Melanesians and Fuegian and Pericu Amerindians.
The Negritos have long been a small group in the Philippines, and the other Filipinos have long dwarfed them in population. Hence, a small amount of inbreeding quickly produced many Filipino genes in Negritos but few Negrito genes in Filipinos.

A Manobo, possibly an Agusan Manobo, man in traditional dress. Most Manobos today wear Western clothing. Some, like the ones who live near the Mamanwa in Surigao del Sur in northeast Mindanao, live off the forest and are being badly affected by deforestation. The Agusan Manobo have at least 2% Negrito genes, the highest level reported for any non-Negrito Filipino group in the Philippines.
Traditionally, the Manobos are considered to be among the Nesiot Austronesians. 54% of Agusan Manobo can read and write in their native language, which has 60,000 speakers. That is a pretty impressive figure for such an isolated group.
A very difficult linguistics paper on Agusan Manobo is available here. It deals with a subfield called discourse analysis, something I never studied and hence don’t really understand very well.
It analyzes language at the discourse level – beyond sounds (phonology), parts of words (morphology), words (lexicology), and sentences (syntax). It analyzes narratives and tries to locate patterns and truths about the way that humans use language to make narratives and tell stories. Believe it or not, the rules and patterns of language work at the narrative level too.
The Agusan Manobo allowed husbands to have multiple wives, common in many primitive cultures. This was usually relegated to those men who had the most money. In this tribe, only women can be religious leaders, which is interesting and resembles the Kalash of Pakistan. The Druze of Lebanon and Israel also have many female religious leaders. I think this is a great idea as I have been worshiping females all my life.

Some Filipino populations, such as the Manobos, described above, that have a somewhat higher level of Negrito genes, but even that level is very small, around 2%. The Manobos live scattered all through Mindanao, but some of the Agusan Manobo live next to the Mamanwas in Surigao del Sur and clearly there has been some interbreeding.

A cute Dumagat Negrito girl trying to read a book. Looking at her hair and features, she is clearly heavily mixed in with Filipino.

Most Filipinos have few if any Negrito genes. There are some Filipinos with Negrito ancestry, and this is readily observable in their woolly or kinky hair and very dark complexion.

A full-grown Ati woman. The Ati live on Panay Island, where they number about 1,500. Their language is still alive. I actually think she is attractive. She’s definitely cute in a child-like way anyway. Note the classical woolly hair of the Philippine Negritos. This is not the same hair as the kinky hair of US Blacks. Other Negritos in the Andaman Islands have peppercorn hair like the Bushmen of Africa.

There are many photos in the older literature of Filipino-Negrito half-breeds, and there is probably still some interbreeding going on. There is a lot of discrimination against Negritos in the Philippines.

A photo of a Negrito man, an Ati from Negros Island, from an anthropological text published around 1916. This text had many photos of mixed Negrito-Filipino types. The Ati of Negros have apparently gone extinct.

On Luzon there is a regular festival in honor of the local Negritos. Almost everyone at the festival is a non-Negrito. A few Negritos wander around the crowd begging and are treated with contempt and ridicule by their non-Negrito brethren.

In a sign that the Negritos may be getting treated better in the Philippines, Juliet Chavez, a Dumagat Negrito, recently won a beauty contest. She is not bad looking.

One of my Filipino contacts told me that the best description of the Filipino attitude towards Negritos is that they do not even exist.
The Philippine Negritos are related to the first groups out of Africa 60-70,000 years ago. They left via the Horn of Africa, got on boats and crossed over to Yemen, then went on boats or walked along the shore along the Indian Ocean to Iran, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Malaysia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, New Guinea, Indonesia and Australia.

The journey taken by early man out of Africa 70,000 years ago. It makes the most sense to think that people migrated along the coast, especially in desert regions. Today in Oman, almost all towns are located along the coast.
There were widespread mangrove forests all along this route back then, though most of them have since died out. There’s plenty to eat along the coast, and the weather is much milder. A journey inland through deserts by such primitive people may have been deadly. Probably the first people undertaking this epic voyage, to which we are all indebted, were the Negritos.

It is generally accepted that Negritos or pre-Negritos probably arrived in the Philippines 30,000 years ago. Findings in caves on Palawan include a 22,500 year old skull called Tabon Man. The skull most resembles modern-day Ainu and Tasmanian people – hence, the Tabon Man people were an Australoid or Aborigine-type people. They were not Negritos.
However, there is also a fragment of a human tibia bone dated 47,000 years ago, so Negritos or pre-Negritos must have been present in the Philippines nearly 50,000 years ago. These caves show habitation going back, some say, 50,000 years.
Finds at the Tabon Caves are interesting in that giant tortoises and even elephants are found there, animals that have since died out on the Philippines.
At other sites, boars, deer, giant and pygmy elephants and rhinoceros have been found. Presently, large mammals are rare to lacking on the archipelago, a common characteristic of islands.
Some archaeologists believe that an even earlier man was present on the Philippines up to 250,000 years ago. This “Dawn Man” is thought to be related to Peking Man and Java Man, that is, he is a variety of Homo Erectus. No bones of this man have been found, but that has not prevented archaeologists from strangely speculating about his appearance.
Dr. Otley Beyer, an American anthropologist, is the one who postulated the existence of Dawn Man.
But findings at Tabon Cave date back at most 50,000 years, not 250,000 years.
Nevertheless, there are what some say are human artifacts in the Cagayan Valley on Luzon dating back 500,000 years, so Otley may have been onto something. Other reports indicate these tools date back 800,000 years, in the range of Java Man.
Others investigating similar sites in the Philippines question whether or not these are really tools, but even these people describe their own clear human artefactual finds as Acheulean and Lower Paleolithic.
These inhabitants must have been Homo Erectus, and were probably related to Java Man and possibly to Peking Man. Acheulean dates from 100,000 to 1.8 million years ago, and Lower Paleolithic spans from 120,000 to 2.5 million years ago. Clearly, the use of these terms by these Cagayan doubters means that even they feel that Homo was in the Philippines at least 120,000 years ago.
Palawan is at the very far end of the Philippines near Indonesia.
Indonesia has been inhabited by Homo derivatives for 2 million years. The theory is that Palawan was at one time connected to Borneo, and early man came to the Philippines via this land bridge.

A Batak Negrito woman of Palawan Island, possibly related to some of the first Negritos to show up in the Philippines. The Palawan Batak number 2,041, and about 1/2 the population speak the language. Note the woolly hair. Parts of Palawan near Tabon Cave are still pretty sparsely populated. Although Tabon Cave is now right on the seashore, it used to be 25-30 miles inland. Only 10% of Philippine archaeological sites have been dug up, and many of those are being looted.
All artifacts and bones have to be shipped out of the Philippines to more developed countries to be analyzed and then shipped back, since the Philippines, with its semi-feudal capitalist model, lacks the modern facilities to analyze artifacts. This is the one great thing Mao did for China – he built a modern country. Mao’s achievement is best seen in comparisons like this one. This blog supports the NPA in the Philippines.

The caves of Tabon show evidence of jar burial connected with the Plain of Jars in Laos and other sites in Sri Lanka. This is probably a Negrito culture in Sri Lanka and Laos.
The Negritos probably came to the Philippines from Malaysia, where they existed 50,000 years ago, down the Malay Peninsula, over to Borneo and up to Palawan in the Philippines, then to the rest of the islands. A map of land bridges in the area 50,000 years ago is here.
Today, the Negritos are known as Ati, Aeta, Agta, Arta, Atta, Alta and Ita, among other names. The word appears to be not their own name for themselves but an appellation placed on them by the surrounding Filipinos. In Austronesian languages, a word like ita often means “black”.

Aeta kids in the Philippines. Some of them look almost like Aborigines. The girl on the far right has a lot of Filipino blood based on her hair and features. The cute girl on the second to left is very heavily admixed with Filipino blood.

They practiced a Stone Age culture up until modern times.

A Pugot Negrito hunter of Southern Luzon with a small deer he has killed, in a photo from a travel guide in 1987. Note that he is clad only in a loincloth. They live around Quezon Province south of Manila and speak a language called Southern Alta, which has about 1,000 speakers.

Today, their lands have been invaded and stolen by non-Negrito Filipinos, and the Negritos labor as peasants on the lands of the Filipinos. Many are unemployed, and cultural collapse is evident. Marriages are unstable, domestic abuse is common, drunkenness is omnipresent, and watching pornography is a pastime. The languages are in a state of Language Death.
In the past few decades, there have been quite a few murders of Negritos by Filipino settlers. There have been few, if any, prosecutions for these crimes.

The Tiruray of Cotabato in Southern Mindanao . They are also known as the Ata and the Upland Bagobo. They may be related to Negritos, but they are clearly quite mixed. Traditionally, they are considered to be part of the second wave of Nesiot Austronesians from Taiwan. They are quite dark.
Being short and dark is an advantage in very hot climates. Dark skin avoids skin damage from UV waves and prevents the destruction of folic acid in the woman’s body during pregnancy, lack of which kills a high percentage of fetuses. Being short enables one to dissipate heat more quickly in a very hot climate. A large body quickly overheats in such a climate. The Tiruray language is in excellent shape. All 50,000 Tiruray speak it, and the literacy rate in Tiruray is 49%.

After the Negritos, two more possibly Australoid groups came to the Philippines, both poorly understood.
Traditional Philippine anthropology says that the Australoid-Sakais came first, and then the proto-Malay. It’s possible that it may have been the other way around, if their arrival in the Philippines mirrored their arrival in Australia.
My working of events reverses the traditional model and postulates that the proto-Malay appeared first, and then the Australoid-Sakais. The proto-Malay were short and very hairy – were they related to the Ainu? It is not known if they were Australoid or not. The nature of the proto-Malay is completely unclear.
A very hairy and early Asian seems to imply someone related to the Ainu. The proto-Ainu were in Thailand 18,000 years ago as the Jomon, when they got on boats and moved up to Japan. In Malaysia, the proto-Malay are the product of Austronesians from Taiwan breeding in with Veddoid Senoi.
It is not known if the proto-Malay described in the peopling of the Philippines are the same people as those in Malaysia, but these people do not seem to be hairy at all.
It seems more logical that the proto-Malay described here may have been the same Murrayan Jomonese-Ainu who came to Australia 15,000-20,000 years ago, possibly from Thailand, later mixed with the Carpinterians, and went on to become the Aborigines. As the Philippines is on the way from Thailand to Australia, it’s conceivable they could have moved into the Philippines along the way.
Australoid-Sakais were the next group to come to Philippines after the proto-Malay. The Sakais are the same as the Senoi in Malaysia.
The Senoi are the subject of the most flagrant yet little known anthropological frauds of our time – the Senoi Dream Theory fraud. A discussion goes beyond the scope of this post, but this exhaustive site fills in all the blanks.
They seem to be a part-Veddoid group with links to the Veddoids of India and Sri Lanka. They also seem to have some roots in Southern China 5,000 years ago. It appears that whatever movements brought them to Malaysia may have carried them over to the Philippines. The Sakai mixed in heavily with the Negritos.
It is quite possible that this is the same group as the Carpinterian Australoids who left India 10,000-15,000 years ago and went to Australia to mingle with the Murrayan Australoids and become the Aborigines. As the Philippines is on the way from southern India to Australia, it’s conceivable they could have stopped by the Philippines along the way.
All of these early Australoid groups – the Sakai, the proto-Malay and the Negritos – seem to have left little trace on the Filipinos of today.
The next group to come to the Philippines were the Nesiots. Some say the Nesiots were Austronesians from Taiwan; others say they came from Indonesia. Wherever they came from, their ancestors are the Tboli of Mindanao, Apayaos, Gaddangs, Ibanags, Lumad and Kalingas of Northern Luzon; the Tagbanuas of Palawan; and the Bagobos, Manobos, Mandayans, Bukidnons, Tirurays and Sabanuns of Mindanao.

A Tboli tribal from South Cotabato Province in Southwest Mindanao. These people are said to be proto-Malays who arrived even before the Austronesians who came to the Philippines 5,000 years ago. No one really knows where these proto-Malays came from. Some say they came from Indonesia, but that seems dubious. Perhaps genetics can sort all this out.
The Tboli language is in excellent shape, with 95,000 speakers, and there are 10,000 Tboli monolinguals. Tboli is spoken freely and everywhere by the group. Their literacy rate in Tboli is 50-60%, excellent for such a small language.
This document, Figurative Uses of ‘Breath’ in Tboli, is a linguistics text dealing with the field of Semantics, or the meaning of words. It’s easily readable by any reasonably educated reader of this blog, and you might find it interesting to dip into it.
In Tboli, one may combine the noun “breath” with 53 different adjectives and verbs to create different expressions of emotions, characteristics, or new verbs. Lengun nawa – “coffin breath” – worry, anxiety – is a cool example. More at the link.

The first wave of Nesiots came 5,000 years ago. They were tall and thin, and had light skin, deep set eyes, aquiline noses and thin lips. It is common to say that these people were part-Caucasian, but there is little evidence of this. Some of the Mangyan of Mindoro today do look somewhat Caucasian.

An Igorot of Luzon. They have a distinctive appearance that most Filipinos can recognize. These are among the last groups of Austronesians out of Taiwan. These people are also known as Bontoc, and speak two different languages, Central Bontoc and Northern Kankanay. Together these groups number 110,000. Note the terraced rice fields. Rice cultivation was brought to the Philippines by the Austronesians when they first arrived maybe 5,000 years ago from Taiwan.
Some Bontoks look quite Negrito – the woman in this photo obviously has Negrito blood.
An Alangan Mangyan woman from north-central Mindoro. The language has 7,694 speakers and is in good shape. Some say these people may be related to Negritos, but that is not proven. I have a friend on Mindoro who says she likes the Mangyan but prefers not to deal with them when they come into Calapan City where she stays sometimes. Asked why not, she said it is because they smell bad.
They live pretty primitive lives via slash and burn agriculture in the jungles of Mindoro, but maybe they don’t bathe all that much. They come into the cities now and then to buy stuff. The men, even today, are often clad only in a loincloth.

A second wave came later. They were shorter, bulkier and darker, with thick lips, wide noses and heavy jaws. As these groups are also related to the Sea Dayak of Borneo and the Batak of Sumatra anthropologically, and the Paiwan Taiwanese aborigines genetically, it seems strange to say that they came from Indonesia.
They were probably ancestors of the Paiwan who came to Indonesia and the Philippines by boats. Ancestors of the Batak later went on to populate Polynesia and from there Micronesia. I call the group made up of Sea Dayak, Sumatrans, Balinese and the Paiwan the Island SE Asian Race.
From 700-2,300 yrs ago, the last wave of Austronesians came from Taiwan, and these are the present day Pinoys. This group, traditionally called Malays, is almost exclusively related to the Ami aborigine tribe of Taiwan. An initial group of these Ami came 1,900-2,300 years ago and formed the primitive, headhunting groups in the Luzon hill tribes. These tribes include the Igorots, Ifugaos , Bontoks and the Tinggians or Tinguians.
Another group of Ami came from 700-1,900 years ago, and includes the Visayans, Tagalogs, Ilocanos, Bicolanos and Kapampangans. This group was much more advanced than the earlier group, and actually used an alphabet. The overwhelming majority of Filipinos today are related to this last group.
900 years ago, a large wave of southern Chinese came to the Philippines on boats and totally mixed in with the Ami-Filipinos.

Beautiful little Filipina girls. This is a classic Filipino phenotype.

Present-day Filipinos are mostly related to the Ami of Taiwan who came 700- 2,300 years ago, with heavy Southern Chinese admixture from the Chinese who came 900 years ago. The ancient Southern Chinese portion has totally mixed in to the point where we cannot see it genetically anymore, but it is there and can be seen by plotting Filipinos with Southern Chinese and noting that they plot quite close together.
More recently, there has also been some mixing with Chinese, but most Filipinos do not show evidence of this recent mixing. About 20% of Filipinos do have recent Chinese ancestry though.
Tales that the Filipinos are part-Australoid or heavily mixed with Negrito, very common beliefs among racists, racialists and amateur anthropologists on the Internet, are all in error, at least based on genetics or skull measures. The notion that Filipinos are part-Australoid is based on looking at their faces and noting that their faces appear somewhat Australoid.
This older anthropological method of dividing up groups into racial types a la Carleton Coon has fallen completely out of favor in recent years.

An old photo of Tagalogs on Luzon from the early part of the 20th Century. Some Filipinos are quite dark. Even these people are probably mostly Chinese people from Taiwan.

The Filipinos are first and foremost a Southern Chinese people, genetically related to the far Southern Han Chinese from around Hong Kong and the aboriginal Taiwanese tribe, the Ami.

A cute Ami girl from the Ami tribe of Taiwanese aborigines. Modern-day Filipinos, excepting some tribals, are extremely close genetically to the Ami of Taiwan, such that one can easily posit a Filipino-Ami subgroup. The most parsimonious conclusion is that most Filipinos today are derived from a large group of Ami who traveled via boat from Taiwan to the Philippines from 700-2,300 years.
There has since been a large infusion of Chinese to the Philippines. Many Filipinos in and around Manila claim recent Chinese ancestry. The Ami and other Taiwanese tribes were headhunters even as recently as the 1930’s. During the Japanese occupation, they were a perennial headache to the occupiers.
They had a tendency to behead the local Hokko Chinese (the mainland Chinese who came to Taiwan starting in the 1600’s). In one incident related in Time Magazine from the 1930’s, 100 Taiwanese aborigine women committed suicide en masse as their village was attacked by Japanese colonists, screaming that if their men warriors were killed defending the village, they would die too.

Map of Taiwanese aborigines showing the location of the Ami on the east coast of the island. The Ami were perfectly positioned to colonize much of island SE Asia.

Recent research shows some intriguing suggestions of closer link between Ami and the rest of the extra-Taiwanese Austronesian languages than between extra-Taiwanese Austronesian and the non-Ami Taiwanese languages. Austronesian is a vast family, but all of the main branches but one are on the island of Taiwan.

All extra-Taiwanese Austronesian languages form one vast family. There are cognates between such unexpected languages as Tagalog and Hawaiian, showing that the two peoples are related. The very deep diversity in Taiwanese Austronesian indicates that the Taiwanese languages have been evolving on the island for a very long time.

In fact, I was able to construct a compact race called that I called the South China Sea Race, composed of Filipinos, the Ami of Taiwan and the Guangdong Han, a shorthand for the Southern Chinese of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and the Taiwan Strait.

The ancient proto-Ami descendants of the Filipinos were the speakers of Austronesian ancestor language of all the Philippines, the Sama-Bajau languages and Gorontalo-Mongondow languages. They also founded the Zabag Empire and it’s successor Lusung Empire, ancient small kingdoms in the Philippines. There were ancient Yue Kingdoms in Guangdong that were originally founded by the Ami of Taiwan.
There have been complaints in the comments section at the end of the post that Filipinos and Hong Kong Chinese do not look much alike. I do not know Asians very well, and to me Southern Chinese from around Hong Kong have darker skins and more SE Asian features than any other Chinese that I have encountered.
Apparently, Hong Kong Chinese and Filipinos can be readily discerned by those in the know. However, some say that when they are in Hong Kong, they have a hard time telling the Filipinos from the Hong Kong natives. They says the only way they can tell them apart is by talking to them.
But my racial classification is not based on phenotype – it is based on genes and genes alone. Check the Capelli and Chu papers linked at the end of the piece for evidence linking first the Filipinos to the Ami, and then the Hong Kong Chinese to the Ami.
The Chinese in this area have some of the world’s highest recorded IQ’s of around ~105. Oddly, the Filipino IQ is only 86, but there is a tremendous amount of malnutrition in the Philippines, and the population is poorly educated as the semi-feudal state spends almost nothing on schooling the people.
Filipinos I have known of no more than average intelligence show typical Asian traits of behavioral inhibition, calmness, shyness, self-consciousness and even a degree of introversion in the females along typical Asian time preference and providence (willingness to work hard today in the interest of possible rewards at some unknown future time).
Improvidence is typically associated with lower IQ’s, while increased providence is associated with higher IQ’s, so it is interesting to see that the Filipinos, with a relatively low IQ of 86, have behavioral attributes of higher-IQ groups.
I have been completely stunned by the highly developed math skills of Filipinos who have only at best average intelligence. Asian intelligence is highly weighted towards math and visual intelligence. All of these things add weight to the notion of Filipinos being a Southern Chinese people.
India, with a national IQ of only 81, has developed an amazing high tech and call center economy. Call centers are moving to the Philippines, where, if anything, English skills are better than in India. I think that the Philippines shows good potential for IT, based on better than expected math skills. Lack of behavioral disinhibition and good time preference ought to be good traits in the Filipino labor force.
Like many people who evolved in the tropics, Filipinos are sunny, happy and seemingly carefree. They love to laugh, sing and party. In this way they resemble Thais, Cambodians, Laos, Malays, Polynesians, Micronesians, Melanesians, Indonesians, Caribbeans and even Africans.

Typical Filipinos of today. Note the easy smiles and carefree faces. Poster is from a government contraception campaign, badly needed in this overpopulated land.

The Philippines may have a better future in the modern economy than many think.
This blog does support the armed Maoist insurgency waged by the New People’s Army in the Philippines, but that is really the subject of another post.

Update to Races of Man Post

My earlier piece, The Major and Minor Races of Mankind, has been given a major update. The previous incarnation was:
3 Macro Races
Caucasian (Caucasoid)
Asian (Mongoloid)
African (Negroid)

I left the three macro races intact. I have debated whether or not to include new macro races but I haven’t been able to come up with anything. The main problem is that all of the potential splits – Kalash, Pacific Islander, Papuan, Amerindian and Aborigine are all part of the macro races. The Kalash are part of the Caucasian race and the rest are all indisputably Asians (yes, even Aborigines).
Previous version:
6 Major Races
Northeast Asian
Southeast Asian

Revised version:
9 Major Races
Northeast Asian
Southeast Asian
Pacific Islander

The result looks something like this:
African Macro Race
General African Major Race
15 minor African races

Caucasian Macro Race
General Caucasian Major Race
Kalash Major Race

19 minor Caucasian races
Asian Macro Race
Northeast Asian Major Race
Southeast Asian Major Race
Amerindian Major Race
Papuan Major Race
Aborigine Major Race
Oceanian Major Race

53 minor Asian races
The last three above, Kalash, Oceanian and Amerindian, were added, giving me a 9-race theory in addition to the standard 3-race theory. Genetically, the Kalash are extremely bizarre. On one chart, they form a separate major race with Caucasians proper, East Asians, Amerindians, Melanesians/Papuans and Africans (chart here).
They are probably some sort of ancient Caucasian race – in fact, they may be some of the most ancient Caucasians of them all.

As you can see, very European looking phenotypes are not rare at all in the Kalash. This 2 year old girl could well be German, except for the strange “elf-ears”, which supposedly are very common among these people. The elf ears are probably a consequence of genetic drift. Drift occurs when a population is isolated for a long time without many outside inputs. The Kalash, unlike all other peoples in the region, have little or no South Indian or Asian genes.
More than anything else, this indicates a West Eurasian origin for the Kalash. West Eurasia is a term that is hard to define, and some say that the region does not even exist. There are some hazy definitions of West Eurasia out there, but in the way it is most used by population geneticists, it appears to mean the Near East and the Caucasus.
As West Eurasia is in the area of the purported homeland of the Caucasian race (Caucasus), we once again deal with the question of the Kalash being an ancient Caucasian tribe, perhaps one of the most ancient Caucasian stocks on Earth.

I saw one genetic map that had all proto-Caucasians (and all proto-NE Asians for that matter) coming out of the Borogil Pass on the border of northern Pakistan and the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan 35,000 years ago. Originally the group was something like pre-Caucasian – NE Asian. The group went north and one line went to proto-Caucasians and the other went northeast to proto-NE Asians.
We don’t have the foggiest idea of what these people may have looked like, but skulls from India 24,000 years ago look more like Aborigines than anything else.

The Borogil Pass in the area of Pakistan, Afghanistan and China. As you can see, it is pretty tough going. This is the lowest pass leading out of South Asia and up into the steppes, so it is logical that early men may have migrated in this way.

Actually I think the genesis of NE Asians is more complex than that, but the article was interesting. The genesis of Caucasians is one of the least understood of all the major races. The homeland of the proto-Caucasians is either in the Caucasus or in Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa seems to be a major staging ground. At this time, the most ancient Caucasians seem to be South Indians and Berbers.
South Indians go back about 15-20,000 years and have been evolving right there with few outside inputs for all that time. Before 20,000 years ago, the proto-South Indians are thought to have come from the Middle East. They probably bred in with or displaced an Australoid people resembling Aborigines who were the original people of India.
The Berbers may go back even further than that and there are suggestions that they may have had an origin in northeastern Africa near Ethiopia, Sudan and Eritrea. That area was the jumping off point for the human race to leave Africa 60-70,000 years ago, pointing once again to very ancient Berber origins. European-like skulls only go back 10,000 years or so and white skin only goes back 9,000 years.
All humans originally were dark-skinned. The people with the darkest skin evolved in the areas where the UV rays were the brightest. It was thought at first that dark skin was an adaptation to prevent sunburn and melanoma, but a there are problems with this analysis.
Sunburn does not usually kill you, and melanoma tends to hit older in life, after one has already produced offspring. A better explanation may be that intense UV rays cause destruction of folic acid stores in the body. Then pregnant women, with their folic acid destroyed, have a high potential of giving birth to deformed babies.
White skin was actually a depigmentation process to enable people to get more Vitamin D, which is scarcer at northern altitudes in Northern Europe due to weak UV rays. Lighter skin is necessary to grab all the Vitamin D that one can. An argument against this is that Vitamin D deficiency does not occur in areas of low UV radiation.
But this is not true. Even today, darker skinned people, such as South Indians, who immigrate to the UK are coming down with various Vitamin D deficiency syndromes, including rickets. It is probably necessary for darker-skinned people who live at high latitudes to take Vitamin D supplementation.
The proto-Caucasians may have split off as early as 35,000 years ago. Some NE Asians are quite close to Caucasians and vice versa. The groups straddling the Caucasian-Asian border form a sort of a line from Turkey to Korea and then up to the Chukchi Peninsula. Along the way we have Turks, Iranians, Jews, West Asians, Central Asians, Northern Turkics, Mongolians, Northern Chinese, Koreans and Chukchi.
West Asians include Punjabis and Pashtuns and live in Pakistan, NW India and Afghanistan. Central Asians include Kazakhs, Turkmen and Uzbeks. Northern Turkics include the Altai, the Yakut and other groups. Many of them live around where China, Mongolia and Russia all come together. Interestingly, this seems to be exactly where most Amerindians came from – the Altai Mountains.
The Chukchi are an Eskimo-like people who live on the Chukchi Peninsula on the far eastern end of Siberia where the Bering Straight separates Russia from Alaska.
What’s curious about the Chukchi is that Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza’s Principal Coordinates chart in his 1994 book The History and Geography of Human Genes (chart here) puts the Chukchi in with Caucasians. Yet by appearance and apparently also genetics, the Chukchi cluster with Asians.
So there are some groups that are really on the border. I had a hard time knowing what to do with Turkics, Northern Turkics and Central and West Asians, as the genetics was so hazy. I usually just dropped them in either NE Asians or Caucasians based on appearance.
The Kalash are a group of about 3,000 people living in Chitral Province in Pakistan on the border of Afghanistan.

The valleys of the Kalash. The villages are at about 6,000 feet and as the soil is very rich, they grow many crops. They also do a lot of herding, mostly of goats it seems. They do observe a menstruation taboo, where the women have to go off to special hut during that time, but this is a very old taboo in many human tribal groups. The Kalash bury their dead above ground in caskets. Burial of the dead above ground is a very ancient human tradition.
The Negritos of both Papua and the Andaman Islands, one of the most ancient human groups, bury their dead above ground in little tree houses. The Zoroastrians, one of the most ancient human religions, bury the dead on rooftops and let the vultures eat them. This is getting to be a problem in parts of India where they live as the neighbors are starting to complain!

They still retain an ancient pagan religion. The are remarkably egalitarian for that part of the world, and women work in the fields side by side with men. They have somehow managed to resist Islamacization for centuries, possibly due to the remote and multiethnic nature of the Chitral region.

Four Kalash students. The fellow on the right is a dead ringer for a European. He could be a German or an Englishman. The fellow on the left could easily be an Italian, a Greek, an Armenian, an Iranian or a Turk. The other two are awfully hard to classify. They almost look a little Amerindian.

There are some similar phenotypes across the border in Afghanistan in Nuristan amongst people called Nuristanis. They were converted to Islam at the point of a sword by a genocidal Pashtun maniac named Amir Abdur-Rahman during Afghanistan’s nation-building process in the 1890’s. His genocide of the Hazara was similar proportionally to the Jewish Holocaust.

A Kalash woman with some children, apparently her own. She and her kids do not look quite so Caucasian; they look more Asian. Actually the woman is hard to classify as belonging to any known race that we are familiar with. In California, you might think she was an Amerindian from Latin America.

The legend is that the Kalash and the Nuristanis were the remnants of Alexander the Great’s army that invaded and conquered the region 2000 years ago. This was the reason for all the European phenotypes in the area. Recently, this was thought to be a legend with no basis in fact, but recent controversial genetic testing suggests that the Kalash may have up to 20% Greek DNA on the fathers’ side.

Macedonian and Kalash female costumes compared – note the similarity in costumes. Also the Kalash continue to worship a creator God cognate with the Greek Zeus. I cannot help but think that some of those Macedonian phenotypes are also present in Kalash females. And the terrain looks rather similar too.
Maybe some of Alexander’s men did stay here, thinking they were home away from home. This story is definitely widespread in that part of the world. I had an Afghan doctor from Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan who insisted it was true.

This has been challenged since although there is one Greek marker in the Kalash, the other major marker that ought to be there, since it is apparently present in all Greeks, is not there. One counter-suggestion is that the Kalash got the Greek marker by chance through genetic drift. This seems dubious. The question remains highly confused .

A Kalash man, possibly with his wife by his side. He could easily be an Italian, an Albanian, a Spaniard or a Portuguese. She’s harder to classify, but could be an Italian.

The Kalash worship a God called Dezau, which is from the Indo-European sky God *Dyaos (reconstructed form), from which the Greeks derived Zeus and the Romans Jupiter. So the Kalash are the last practitioners of ancient Indo-European mythology.

A Kalash woman with Caucasian features and somewhat Asian eyes. It’s hard to place her into a known ethnic group, but there are Kurds who look something like this. The Kalash probably originated in an area near Kurdistan, but no one really knows. The child looks more Asian. Love the costumes.

They have some odd customs.
One I particularly love is called the Festival of the Budalak. A strong teenage boy is sent up in the mountains for the summer with the goats. He practically lives on goat milk, which supposedly makes him even stronger.
When he comes back there is a festival, and at the festival he gets to have sex with any woman he wants, even his own mother, a young virgin or another man’s wife, but he only gets to rampage like this for 24 hours. Any child born of these encounters is considered to be blessed. They supposedly quit practicing this custom recently due to bad publicity, but many think that they still practice it in secret.
Definitely one of the world’s greatest customs!

A beautiful Kalash woman who eloped with a man recently to get married. Although many times the couple who do this are single, in quite a few cases a married woman can elope with another man. The new husband just has to pay double the bride price. The cuckold just takes it all in stride, or at least he doesn’t get homicidal. It’s amazing the kind of rights women have in this group. Too bad so many of them convert out to Pakistani Islam where women are pretty much chattel.
This woman obviously resembles some European phenotype, but I don’t know my European racial types a la Coon, etc, very well. I almost want to say Norwegian?

The Kalash are coming under pressure from radical Islamists recently and several villages have been converted by force (I thought Muslims never do this!) Also radical mullahs incite local Muslims to go into Kalash villages and smash their religious idols.

A Kalash shamaness or female shaman. It is amazing that in this misogynistic part of the world that women are granted such a high religious position. Druze women in Lebanon and Syria are also allowed to become high religious leaders. The costume is amazing. Shamans are one of the oldest aspects of human religions, characteristic of animist type religions.
As the world is full of spirits (or Gods in a polytheistic world) the shaman works via human psychology to manipulate the spirit world to the benefit of the patient. It is hard to say how much there is to it, but areas of the world where humans have been practicing this sort of thing for a long time can do some pretty amazing things.
There are reports out of the South Seas that whole villages would get together to cast evil spells on leaders of neighboring islands. In a number of cases, the leader died soon afterward. The cause of death was typically massive and multiple organ failure. It was as if he simply exploded inside. There are persistent reports that saying a prayer over water or a meal makes it taste better.
There are many reports of dying people communicating over long distances with loved ones just before they die.
And there are also many reports of people sensing nearby tragedies as they are occurring. All of this needs to be investigated by science but there are good reasons to think that this sort of thing is compatible with modern science, especially particle physics where we are all part of each other.
I am also convinced that clairvoyance and sharing of hallucinations are possible, having experienced both of these things. Of course, we were tripping on LSD-like woodrose seeds at the time, but still.

Pacific Islanders and Amerindians were also added, as there is good evidence that these two groups form valid major groupings. Cavalli-Sforza’s eight-race theory listed Amerindians and a group he called Pacific Islanders that apparently also included Papuans.
Rosenberg et al’s six-race grouping also included Amerindians and a group he called Melanesians, consisting of Papuans and Melanesians. Since other evidence indicates significant distance between Papuans and Melanesians and Papuans and Pacific Islanders in general, I decided to leave Papuans as a separate major group.
Yet a good case can be made to split off Polynesians, Micronesians and Melanesians in a compact grouping. The creation of the Polynesians is a result of the spread of the Lapita culture, one of the world’s greatest sea journeys undertaken by Austronesian mariners, Taiwanese aborigines (Chinese people) who left Taiwan 1000’s of years ago to settle Island SE Asia. First they went to the Philippines, then to Indonesia.
From Central Indonesia, they left and settled coastal New Guinea, bringing an advanced culture to New Guinea. They also may have settled as far east as the Solomons.
The Trobriand and Solomon Islands are said to be one of the centers for proto-Papuan culture in the region, and may have been settled as long ago as 35,000 years ago.
Later, a new wave of Austronesians came out of Central Indonesia (near the Wallace Line) and moved through Melanesia, picking up only a few Melanesian genes along the way. These mariners then went off to populate the entirety of Polynesia in the past 2000 years.
So, according to this theory, Polynesians are mostly Chinese (Taiwanese aborigines) with some Melanesian in them.
One interesting question is why the Polynesians got so huge. First of all, they are not all huge. I have taught a lot of these people in the LA schools and there are a variety of phenotypes, including one that is short and thin.
One theory is that the journey to populate Polynesia was so harsh that only the strongest survived and the weakest died. It may have been necessary to eat the dead for the survivors to go on. Perhaps they fought to the death for scarce resources. Anyway, on many Polynesian islands an extremely brutal culture of continuous, potentially genocidal warfare was the norm and this was probably the world center for cannibalism.
Finally, the last wave to move out was the Micronesians. This group consisted of Polynesians who moved out of Polynesia to populate Micronesia. According to the theory above, they are mostly Chinese (Taiwanese) with only a small amount of Melanesian in them.
The suggestion above was that both the Polynesians and the Melanesians are mostly-Chinese (Taiwanese) people. That conclusion is based on a recent paper that has not yet been widely distributed.
However, another paper that can be downloaded on this site here, suggests that the major Haplogroups in Polynesians – C and F – are indigenous to the region, meaning they are related to the original Melanesian and Papuan settlers.
That paper, and many others, suggests that Micronesians and Polynesians are about 50% Chinese and 50% Melanesian, with different percentages from each parent. This still seems the most reasonable solution to me.
Interestingly, the vast majority of the Chinese genes in Melanesians and Polynesians seem to have come from one group of Taiwanese aborigines – the Ami.
A group called the Alor in far eastern Indonesia clusters with Melanesians and a group called the Toba Batak of northern Sumatra in Indonesia clusters with Micronesians.

Alor of far Eastern Indonesia after a major disaster. They are Melanesians who speak Papuan languages. The languages are endangered and very poorly documented. There is a major undertaking underway right now to at least document these languages.
Some very interesting looking Alor women. Although they are Melanesians, they look a bit different from many other Melanesians. The woman on the left has some pretty Asian looking eyes. This may be because they speak an Austronesian language. Melanesians who speak an Austronesian language have some Chinese (Taiwanese) genes, but never more than 20%. The Alor have about 12% Taiwanese genes from the Ami, a group of Taiwanese aborigines, seen in Haplogroup L.
Both White Nationalist and Afrocentrist varieties of ethnic nationalist idiots keep trying to insist that these folks are either Black or closely related to Blacks.
These people are some of the furthest away from Africans on the planet. You can’t go by phenotype or appearance or even behavior. None of that means much. You have to go by genes. As these people were some of the first to split off from Africans, they have been evolving away from them for the longest. Whites are much closer to Blacks than these Melanesians.
An Alor man who is working with a linguistic team that is documenting Alor languages. Alor is a major diving site for commercial recreational diving crews. The water is still nice and clear here and the coral reefs are still intact. The fish population is good too as there are not a lot of people living in this part of Indonesia. The famous Komodo Dragon lives near here on Komodo Island in far eastern Indonesia.
The reason these people, who are much less related to Black people than I am, are always called Black, is due to the color of their skin! But that has nothing to do with anything. A bobcat and coyote are similarly colored too. Truth is that if you evolved in the areas of the Earth with the highest UV radiation, you often ended up with very dark skin, which does resemble that of Africans.
But this is just convergent evolution and has nothing to do with relatedness. This guy is a lot more closely related to Chinese than to Black people. The Alor do seem to have about 25% Papuan genes via Haplogroup E.
The Toba Batak of Northern Sumatra. The guys in this photo actually do look Micronesian – I have seen photos of Micronesians. How these Micronesians ended up on the north coast of Sumatra is news to me. The Toba Batak live west of Medan in the area around Lake Toba, especially on Samosir Island. Their elaborately carved wooden houses are a popular tourist attraction.
A photo of a Toba Batak family. I had a hard time finding quality pics of the Toba Batak. You can see that they are extremely dark – much darker than most people living in this area. Also I think that some Micronesians may have wavy hair like that. The Toba Batak are Micronesians who somehow ended up in northern Sumatra.

This shows that Indonesians are not any particular race, although most are more general SE Asian types fairly close to Filipinos.
Classification of races is a tricky business. In my post, I went by genetic distance alone and not phenotype, culture, behavior, etc. I also treated very gingerly all contributions by ethnic nationalists, who are known to be profoundly dishonest about this stuff. Despite PC nonsense, there clearly are races of mankind. In fact, my classification scheme posits 87 minor races, and it is still undergoing revision.

Australoid Genes in Southeast Asians

Repost from the old site.
As we noted in a previous post, many amateur Internet anthropologists, NE Asians, White Supremacists and other folks argue that SE Asians have substantial Australoid influence which influences their phenotype. This harkens back to an earlier era in anthropology when this view held wide currency.
Australoid, a term which has fallen out of favor but still deserves to be used, refers properly to Papuans and Australian Aborigines in the genetic sense. Used anthropologically, it can refer to Negritos, Senoi, Tamils and Ainu.

Australoids definitely refers to Papuans, who can be characterized that way both anthropologically and genetically. The Yali are a tribe in Western New Guinea, presently being colonized by Indonesian settler-colonist criminals with the assistance of US imperialism as “Irian Jaya”. This Yali tribesman has an interesting phenotype that actually, in this case, resembles many regular Javan Austronesian Indonesians. Love the bone through the nose.
Afrocentrists also claim the Papuans, but the Papuans, like the Negritos and Melanesians, are among the people on Earth most distant from Blacks. Papuans are even more distant from Africans than Melanesians and Negritos are.

Melanesians and Negritos are anthropometrically Australoids. Genetically, most Negritos are just Asians, related to whichever people they happen to be living close to. However, the Semang of Thailand and Malaysia are also genetically related to Papuans. The Melanesians are anthropometrically Australoids but genetically Asians with significant Australoid (Papuan) base.
Australoid may also refer to Veddoids. Tamils, a group thought to be related to Veddoids, have skulls that look like those of the Andaman Islands Negritos, the Semang (Malay Negritos) and coastal New Guineans (Melanesians), but genetically, Tamils and other Veddoids tend to look like nearby groups. In general, Southeast Asian Veddoids look like SE Asians, and South Indian Veddoids look like South Indians.

A beautiful Fijian woman. The Fijians are actually a mix between Polynesians and Melanesians, but most say that they are Melanesians. They are classified as members of the Melanesian Race genetically. Note the frizzy hair. The Melanesians themselves are a creation of migrating Austronesian tribes who moved into coastal New Guinea and significantly elevated the culture of the area.
They intermarried heavily with the Papuans and then spread out to populate Melanesia. Subsequent waves of Austronesians moved into Melanesia, intermarried with Melanesians and moved on to Polynesia to become the Polynesians. But how the Polynesians got so large is not known. There are lots of theories about this. So, Melanesians = Papuans + Taiwanese aborigines and Polynesians = Melanesians + Taiwanese aborigines.Melanesians in Papua New Guinea. Not all New Guineans are Papuans – some are Melanesians, especially along the coast. Melanesians, as noted above, are a mix between Papuans and Taiwanese aborigines. Though Afrocentrists love to claim them, they really one of the most distant groups from Africans on Earth.

The truth is that for most SE Asians, there is not much Australoid influence anymore. And anyway, NE Asians are also related to Australoids, since prior to 10,000 years ago, Australoid populations characterized the human settlements of all of NE and SE Asia, all of the Americas and even India.
For instance, the Ainu of Japan and their ancestors, the Jomon, are related to Negritos, Aborigines and the Veddoids of India. Many groups in Indonesia are also related to Veddoids and Negritos. Yet most Filipinos have little if any Negrito genes (see towards the end of the post for an analysis of this interesting situation), and the vast majority of Indonesians do not either.
Instead, Filipinos and most Indonesians are mostly related to Taiwanese Aborigines, an ancient Chinese group that came out of China and went to Taiwan 11,000-26,000 years ago. A group of these Aborigines set out from Taiwan 8,000 years ago as the Austronesians and populated much of Island SE Asia. The Austronesians were no more Australoid than a Chinese from Guangdong is.
However, it should be noted that some Malays and Filipinos do have strong Negrito features. There has been a certain amount of interbreeding between Filipinos and the local Negritos, and the result has been that the Negritos are close to Filipinos genetically because they have a lot of Filipino genes, but your average Filipino does not have many Negrito ancestors.

Aeta kids in the Philippines. Although they look like Blacks, this group is also probably very distantly related to Africans. I believe they are over by Polynesians on this chart, though they are not shown on the chart itself. Aetas are members of the Philippines Negrito Race and are somewhat close to Filipinos, though in global terms they are actually quite distant. The Micronesian Yapese are also a part of this race, which is interesting and unexplained.
Aeta languages seem to be dying out and Filipino settlers have been moving in and stealing their lands for decades now, sometimes killing the Aeta in the process, a crime which is often not prosecuted. The Aetas are starting to show the “defeated race” syndrome of culture and language loss along with heavy intermarriage at the very least.
Whereas they formerly owned their own lands, Filipinos have now stolen most of those lands, and Aetas now work as day labor on Filipino farms, a deterioration. There is heavy drinking in their settlements and pornography is popular entertainment.

The reason that Filipino Negritos can have lots of Filipino genes but most Filipinos do not have many Negrito genes is because there is such a dramatic difference in the populations of the groups.
Negrito populations in the Philippines are small – I calculated 102,572 speakers of Negrito languages – and non-Negrito population is 86.2 million. So there are 860 X more non-Negrito Filipinos than Negritos. If even 1 out of 1000 Filipinos breeds with a Negrito, you will have lots of Filipino genes in the Negritos and almost no Negrito genes in Filipinos. The two groups will also appear somewhat close on genetics charts.

Another Philippines Negrito, this one from the Batak group in Palawan at the southern end of the Philippines. About 10% of the Batak still speak Batak, a language with about 200 speakers. Palawan is heavily Muslim and is close to Indonesia. The title of this article seems to imply that they are in pretty bad shape and on the road to extinction, at least linguistically and culturally.
Another reason these people are different from Blacks is that their hair is different. Negrito hair is naturally “woolly” like that above. Black hair is “kinky”. If that woman above was Black, her hair would not look like that – would be going out in an Afro like the hair of the Fijian woman above.

While it is true that the original people of Thailand and Malaysia were Negritos, Australoids have had little input into the present-day Thai people and Thais are considered to be Mongoloids. For the Malays, the situation is a bit different, as they do retain traces of Papuan genes, but only in very small numbers.

A Papuan man in front of some Indonesian onlookers in the fake province called Irian Jaya, stolen from the Papuans by Indonesia and then colonized by Indonesian invaders. What happened was that the Dutch left the area, where West Papua had been a part of their colonial holdings, in 1965. The Dutch specifically stated that West Papua was not part of Indonesia and was to be joined with Papua New Guinea.
The Indonesians, cheered on by their US imperial masters, simply invaded and stole the place. The result has been a huge number of Papuans killed in a vicious and brutal insurgency that has lasted decades and has been supported to the hilt by US imperialism. US imperialism was involved in the original theft of Western Papua because they wanted to split up some of the stolen loot with their Indonesian criminal buddies.
This story has hardly been reported on in the press, but John Pilger has done some excellent work on it. This blog supports the armed Papuan separatists 100%. First Timor Leste, next West Papua.
By the way, that is a penis bone, I think, on his penis. A lot of Papuan men wear these things. I guess the idea is to make it look like you have a huge permanent erection. This guy also looks sort of Caucasian to me. I find a lot of Papuans do for some reason.

The original people of Malaysia were the Semang, a Negrito group that still exists there on the border of Southern Thailand and Northern Malaysia, where they live deep in the forests. Afrocentrists also claim the Semang as Black, but they are probably among the groups on Earth that are genetically furthest from Blacks.
Between 4,000-8,000 years ago, the Senoi, an Austroasiatic group, came down from Southern China. They were an early split from the Zhuang group, a proto-Tai group in Southern China. The Zhuang themselves probably split off about 5,000 years ago. The Senoi apparently married into the Semang once they got to Malaysia.
The Senoi of Thailand and Malaysia are Veddoids. The Senoi cluster with Andaman Islanders, coastal New Guinea ( Melanesians) and Tamils in skull shape.
The Veddoid Senoi are related to the Zhuang of China, as the Veddoids of India are related to various Indian races. Many think that Veddoids are related to the Negritos as one of the first populations in Asia – some say they were a second wave out of Africa after the Negritos. The largest number of Veddoids are found in India.
The Senoi are very interesting due to a false theory that has been spread about them regarding the way in which they incorporate dreams into their daily life. This false story has spawned a movement known as Senoi Dream Theory, which suggests that you can control your dreams in order to improve your life (which is supposedly what the Senoi do).
This story was concocted by an amateur anthropologist named Kilton Stewart.
The entirety of Senoi Dream Theory, upon which an entire sub-school of Western psychology has been founded in such New Age havens as Berkeley, is nonsense. The Senoi do use dreams in a way that most Westerners do not, but not in the way that Senoi Dream Theory suggests, and furthermore, there is little evidence that one can control one’s dreams much, which is unfortunate to those like me who have such lousy dreams.

These are the Veddoids. As the text notes, they are found in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The text seems to be in Croatian, but I am not sure. Some think that the Veddoids were the second wave out of Africa after the Negritos, but no one is really sure what they are or where they came from. They remain a mystery. One characteristic of the Veddoids is wavy hair.

The Semang, the Negritos of Thailand, are despised by all other groups in the country, as is the case with many Negrito populations. The Semang came there 8-20,000+ years ago.
Previously, the residents of Thailand and Malaysia looked like Aborigines. A 25,800 year old skeleton from Thailand looks like Aborigines, and so does a 44,000 year old skull from Malaysia. The genes from the 25,800 year old bones look like the Semang. One theory is that Negritos were the first wave in SE Asia and Veddoids were the second.
For the Malays proper, there were two waves coming to Malaysia – proto-Malays and Malays. Proto-Malays are classed as Mongoloids, not Australoids.
It is thought that the proto-Malays moved down into the area from China 3000 years ago and are a result of the first Austronesian wave via Taiwan that then bred in heavily with the Senoi, creating the proto-Malays. It is thought that the line tracing the Malays back to northwestern Yunnan 4,500 years ago is following a Senoi line.
3,500 yrs ago, Veddoids moved into Indochina from India after the Aryan invasion.
The Malays proper were a later wave of Austronesians from Taiwan to Philippines to Borneo to Sumatra and then up into Malaysia 2,300 yrs ago. The Austronesians lack Australoid genes. Some say Malays are mixed with Negrito, Veddoid, Proto-Malay and Malay, but there is little good evidence for that, especially since, in recent years anyway, the Negritos do not seem to have bred in much with the others.
However, present-day Malays do say that the Negritos, or Orang Asli, are their ancestors. Southern Thais, close to Malaysia, may also have some Negrito genes.

A beautiful Malay woman. The Malays, members of the Malay Race, which includes Java, Sarawak and Malaysia, are mostly Muslim, but there are large Chinese and Indian minorities there. The Malays are probably a result of waves of Taiwanese aborigine Austronesians marrying in with Veddoids from India and the Senoi Veddoids from Southern China. At the base may be the Semang Negritos, the original settlers of the land.
At the moment, there are only traces of Papuan genes in the Malays, and genetically, they resemble Filipinos and Western Indonesians.
More Papuan guys. I love the one guy with the bone through his nose. I hope this turns into a new urban fad along the lines of tattoos and piercings. I long for the day I can walk into a Starbucks and see a young kid with a bone through his nose. Then I will know I have arrived at the multicultural wonderland.
Some of these guys seem to look sort of like Amerindians in their phenotypes.
The Papuans seem to have an amazing amount of phenotypes. Papuans were probably one of the very first groups out of Africa. The Negritos moved out of Africa down the Indian Ocean coast to SE Asia, then to New Guinea and then to Australia.
Humans may have been in New Guinea up to 60,000 years ago. They must have arrived there by boats, because even at the highest water point, there was still a deep 30-mile channel near Timor that never got covered by land.

Another major group in SE Asia is the Mon-Khmer Austroasiatic group, who came from Yunnan in China 4500-7000 yrs ago and populated parts of SE Asia, Burma and SE India. The Thais came only 1000 yrs ago from Yunnan and subsequently spread out through much of Indochina. Both groups came from Southern China and have no Australoid genes in them.
Further evidence shows that Filipinos, most Indonesians and Malays are closest to Taiwan and China and each other, and very far from Melanesians, a prototypical Australoid population that they are purportedly related to. Filipinos have a particularly close relationship with the Taiwanese aborigines, especially the Ami. They are closer to the Ami than Chinese, Malays and Indonesians are.

Two beautiful young Ami women, Taiwanese aborigines from Taiwan. This tribe, more than the other Taiwanese tribes, seems to be the source of the Austronesians that over a period of 8,000 years left the island and populated much of SE Asia. The Austronesians form the core group of Philippines and parts of Indonesia and make up a significant part of the Malays, Polynesians, Micronesians and Melanesians. The Ami are one of the largest of the Taiwanese aborigine groups.
These tribes probably moved to the island in waves over 20,000 years or more. The Tai also seem to go back to Taiwan, but theory is that they left over 5,000 years ago, went to Southwest China, where the proto-Tai homeland is, then went to Central China where they met up with the proto-Zhuang heading south from central China.
The Zhuang and Tai then split into two major groupings, with the Zhuang going on to form an Austroasiatic group. The Zhuang are also related to the Senoi discussed in this post. Both the Zhuang and the Senoi probably go back to northwest Yunnan.
An exhaustive overview of the Taiwanese aborigines is here. The Taiwanese aborigines had long traditions of continuous warfare, and were especially enamored of headhunting. This sort of thing continued up until the 1930’s.When the Japanese raided one village, Mahebo, in 1930, 108 women committed suicide en masse so that the men would fight to the last man without worrying about the women.
The Taiwanese aborigines do not have any Australoid genes that we can see anymore. But they came from Southwest China and Northern Vietnam (interestingly, this is also the Asian Homeland) up to 26,000 years ago, and Southwestern Chinese do have traces of Papuan genes. The Ami are members of the South China Sea Race, which also includes the Han Chinese from around Guangdong and Hong Kong.

The Aboriginal Taiwanese are an interesting group. Genetically and linguistically, they are very distant even from each other, as compared to other SE Asians, probably as a consequence of having been in Taiwan for up to 26,000 years. The link between Taiwanese Aborigines and Northern Vietnam and Southwestern China is deep.
An ancient type of artifacts in Taiwan called Corded Ware Culture came from Northern Indochina and Southern China long ago – 9000 yrs ago. Corded Ware is linked to Austronesians described above. Another artifact type in Taiwan – Lungshanoid pottery – also comes from southwestern China 4500 yrs ago.
It is true that there is some Australoid influence on Indonesians, especially those in the eastern part of the archipelago. The Mulaccans, the Nusa Tangarrans and others have some affinity for Australoids (Melanesians), but other Indonesians, Filipinos, Chinese and Taiwanese do not. For one possible Australoid influence on Indonesians, there are links between the Veddas of Sri Lanka to the Toala of South Sulawesi in Indonesia.

Indonesians on Sumatra fighting for supplies after the deadly tidal wave a while back. Indonesians do look quite a bit different. The Sumatrans are members of the Island SE Asian Race, which includes the Paiwan Taiwanese Aborigines and the Sea Dayak, Sumatrans and Balinese in Indonesia. However, this group is almost all Acehnese, since the tidal wave almost exclusively effected Aceh Province. The Acehnese have, in addition to Austronesian characteristics, influences from China, India and the Arab World. You can even see it in the name – (A)rabia, (C)hina, (E)urope, (H)indu India. Some Acehnese even have blue eyes, said to be from Persian influences.
Although West Indonesians like these are mostly Austronesian, the Indonesians in the center and especially towards to the East do have a lot of Melanesian (Australoid) in them. This seems to be from a backwards movement from New Guinea or Melanesia of Melanesians after the Melanesians were created on New Guinea back into the eastern Indonesian islands.

Here is a good overview of the “Australoids” of India, Papua and Australia, along with the Melanesians, Negritos, their names and their history. It includes such interesting groups thought to be related to Negritos as the Tamils of Sri Lanka and the Mahra of Saudi Arabia. An excellent overview of the Negritos of the Philippines is here. A reprint of an old book describing the Mafulu, a Negrito group in New Guinea, is here.

Genes and Language Match Well

Repost from the old site.
This post will look into whether or not genes and language line up well. The question may seem academic, but it is important for linguists in the battle for whether or not there is anything to the large macro-families that the “lumpers” are creating.
It’s yet another skirmish in the lumpers versus splitters battle in Historical Linguistics. Historical in the branch that deals with language families, language relationships and reconstruction of old languages that are no longer spoken.
The debate has heated up in recent years due to the prominence of lumper theories publicized by the late Joseph Greenberg and his followers and disciples, notably Merrit Ruhlen at Stanford University. Ruhlen and Greenberg use a technique called mass comparison which has come under a lot of wild and irrational abuse, but seems to be a valid scientific method in the hands of an expert.
Greenberg used to come up with the four major language families of Africa a long time ago and his classification there has remained pretty solid ever since.
He since published a book called Language in the Americas, which broke down all Amerindian languages into three large families – Amerind, Na-Dene and Eskimo-Aleut. I have read that book many times and I concur with its analysis. Unfortunately, a detailed examination of the evidence goes beyond the scope of this post.
Na-Dene and Eskimo-Aleut are not very controversial, though the position of Haida within Na-Dene is regarded as unproven. I don’t have any position on Haida. If it’s related, it has to be as some outlier, such that the family should be called Haida-Na-Dene.
In the same way, some wish to put the ancient Indo-European Anatolian language Hittite into a separate branch of Indo-European as Indo-Hittite. I don’t have a position on that either.
Bengston promotes a family called Dene-Caucasian that involves the North Caucasian languages of the Caucasus, Basque, Na-Dene, Sino-Tibetan, Burushaski in northern Pakistan and the Ket Family in Siberia. I can’t speak for the whole family, but the evidence is definitely interesting. I think that Bengston has proven a case for Ket, Basque and the Caucasian languages being related, as I read a book on that subject.
Recently, Edward Vajda conclusively proved that the Ket language is related to the Na-Dene languages.

A Ket man in Siberia. His phenotype looks a bit Japanese, no? Or am I wrong? He doesn’t look like an Amerindian. The situation of the Ket is deplorable, as most live in serious poverty and do not see any hope for their improving themselves. The Ket language is also in really bad shape, as hardly anyone under 35 can speak it well, and 30% of the population regard speaking Ket as useless.
I swear the USSR did a better job with minority tongues than these Putin fascists.
There is good evidence with Amerindians (broken link). The Selkup are a Samoyedic people who live near the Ket. There is also good evidence linking the peoples of the Altai with Amerindians.

This doesn’t make a lot of sense, as the Selkup and Ket now live a long ways from the Altai region, but the Ket and Selkup are thought to have lived in the Altai long ago and come north later on.

Relating to the Ket, along with the Selkup nearby, the theory linking these groups to the Amerindians supports a single migration to the Americas 16,000 years ago, but it’s not at all definitive. According to this paper (broken link) linking the Ket with Amerindians, proto-Caucasians are thought to have evolved in Central Asia. I would place it more near the Caucasus.

Click to enlarge. I believe that the latest evidence is showing that all of the various Altai peoples – Northern Turkics would be the various Altai groupings – the Altai, the Tofalar, the Khakass and the Shor – are related to the Amerindians. These are often referred to as Northern Turkics. They aren’t really Turks per se as in people from Turkey, but even the Turks from Turkey are thought to be partly related to those Northern Turkic tribes.
Northern Turkics are right on the border between Asians and Caucasians on gene charts and some Amerinds are not so far genetically from that border either. If you look at the Cavalli-Sforza gene chart below, you can see that next to the Eskimo-Aleuts, the Chukchi and the Northern Turkics are the people most closely related to the Amerindians.
It also looks like the Ket and Selkup came from what is now the Northern Turkic Altai region. Anthropologically, these various groups are either Uralics or are South Siberian, Central Asian or North Asian Asiatics. This general region is where Russia, China and Mongolia all come together = the Altai.

This is the first connection of a New World language family with an Old World language family.

Here is a Nenets woman from Siberia. She definitely seems to look Northern Chinese or Korean. Or am I wrong? They have a population of 44,000, and there are 31,000 speakers of the language. It’s really two languages – Forest Nenets and Tundra Nenets, but both are said to be endangered. I think at least Tundra Nenets will be around for a while though, as most kids are still learning it.The Nenets are Samoyedics like the Selkup, discussed above. The Selkup are related to the Amerindians.

It’s interesting that the Ket have also been linked genetically with the New World.

Here is a rare photo of Ed Vajda with two Ket women in Siberia described as “experts in the Ket language. I’m not good at judging ages, but these women look to be about 40-60? If so, that is good, as I thought all of the speakers were elderly, and hardly anyone spoke the language well anymore. Ket does have anywhere from 537-1,000 speakers. A related language, Yugh, is thought to have recently gone extinct. The rest of the Yeniseien languages went extinct about 150-250 years ago.

These are the most vilified of the lumpers, but there are others who are following more orthodox methods of reconstruction in order to prove the existence of language families, such as the late Sergey Starostin, his son George Starostin, John Bengston, the late Vladislav Markovich Illich-Svitych (a prodigy, dead at the young age of only 32), Aharon Dolgopolsky and Vitaly Victorovich Shevoroshkin.
The Starostins, Illich-Svitych, Dolgopolsky and Shevoroshkin all worked on Nostratic, a vast family consisting, variously, of Indo-European, Uralic, Altaic, Kartvelian, Nivkh, Chukotko-Kamchatkan, Afro-Asiatic, Dravidian and Eskimo-Aleut.
I would accept IE, Uralic, Altaic, Nivki, Chukotko-Kamchatkan and Eskimo-Aleut for sure in Nostratic. I haven’t seen a lot of evidence for Afro-Asiatic and Dravidian, but I haven’t looked that hard at Nostratic. The Altaic family is itself controversial, but I regard it as fact, having studied it a bit.
This large Altaic above also includes Japanese, Korean and Ainu. I agree that those three languages can be included in Altaic, though at great distance. I would toss Yukaghir in with Uralic. I would also toss Afro-Asiatic in with IE, as I read a good book on that subject.
Nostratic has a whole lot more going for it than some of these other long-range proposals, and since these guys are using classic reconstruction, it gets a lot more respect from splitters. Starostin’s webpage is a great resource for looking into long-range stuff, especially Nostratic and Altaic.
Bengston, Shevoroshkin and the Starostins all worked on Dene-Caucasian. This hypothesis seems a lot more controversial.

Click to enlarge. Here is a tree of Luigi Cavalli-Sforza’s human genetic families on the left and various human language families on the right, including some big families. The only one that is seriously out of place is Tibetan. This is because the Tibetans are a genetically North Chinese people who have moved down into Southern China in recent years.

They cluster with South Chinese linguistically but NE Asians genetically. All the rest lines up pretty well, including super-families like Nostratic and Eurasiatic (a Nostratic-like family created by Greenberg). The hypothesized Austric family is interesting. I’m not sure if I buy this super-family or not, but I have not really looked into it. With recent genetic evidence linking Indonesians and Vietnamese to Daic peoples of South China and SE Asia, it seems worth looking into.

Are SE Asians Australoids?

Repost from the old site.
We have already dealt with this issue previously on this blog, but there is need to continuously revisit old issues that do not seem to be sinking in very well after we do our revisionist and rectification work here.
For instance, I do not really care about whether or not SE Asians are part-Australoid, but among amateur anthropologists, the notion is much in vogue. Furthermore, it is regarded as given by Chinese, which unfortunately includes Southern Chinese, who by this definition, would also be part-Australoid.
This issue needs to be dealt with because it is such a widespread myth, particularly among some of our best young minds out there in popular culture. Among anthropologists, the only folks saying that SE Asians are part-Australoid are wonderful folks like Richard Lynn, who wants to “phase out” inferior races. So I’m not sure that NE Asian Supremacists should make alliance with these guys.
The truth is clear. All of Asia, as far as we can tell, was Australoid up until 9,000 years ago or so. Further, some Caucasians were part-Australoid, and there is some evidence that all of them may have been at one point.
Take a recent comment by an excellent mind in my comments section, who states that all SE Asians are Australoids based on their lineage.
First of all, lineage doesn’t really mean crap. In the lineage of Caucasians is African, Asian and probably Australoid, going back 45,000 years or so, and maybe more so in between, since India seems to be continuously injecting itself into the Caucasian mix from 10,000-45,000 years ago, and India was Australoid until 8,000 years ago, when it finally transitioned to Caucasian.
In fact, Caucasians may have been made up one part African from Masai and Tutsi-type Central African stock, and two parts NE Asian, which at 45,000 years ago was probably an Australoid that looked something like an Ainu. So Caucasians themselves are probably two parts Australoid in their mix going way, way back.
There are different ways of doing race, in places where anti-racist nuts have not outlawed it or shamed it out altogether. We can look at facial structure, or we can look at genes. There are no other ways of doing it that make sense.
Facial structure is a favorite among White racists, but otherwise it’s ok. White racists despise genes, because too many other “non-White” Caucasians end up being too close to their precious European White Glory.
Lots of people hate genes because they give funny results. The exalted Hong Kong Chinese make up a taut subrace with the unknown Taiwanese Ami and the downtrodden and abused Filipinos. We can’t have that.
Let’s do faces instead, or skin color, the craziest of them all. We do skin color and we miss tight genetic units like Algerians and Nubians, one White and one Black group that are so closely related they can easily be called a minor race and even a closely-knit genetic family.
Faces are interesting, but genes are sort of where it’s at in a way. Negritos and Ainu go to the surrounding Asians on genes, but to Australoids on facial structure. So where do we toss em? Fuegian Amerindians go Australoid on facial structure but Amerindian on genes, so which bin? I’m inclined to toss Fuegians into Amerindians on mere sense grounds, since saying they are Australoids lost in America is just too weird.

A classic Ainu man. Note the uncanny resemblance to an Amerindian. Ainus look Australoid on facial structure and Asian on genes. They are not Caucasian as many have theorized. One theory about why we have some Caucasian looking types in Asia is that the breeding together of an Australoid type with an Asian type can produce as Caucasoid type. That’s just a shot in the dark, but it sounds appealing to me.
Some Amerindians, such as the Fuegians of Patagonia and the Pericu of Baja California also look like Ainu, as did the Paleoindians of the Americas, who are thought to be the first to come the continent, even before the Asian Amerindians that we know today. The Amerindians we know today may have shown up only 6,000-9,000 years ago, but they must have bred in with earlier groups.

So, we look at faces of SE Asians for Australoid structure, and we don’t get much. Negritos, Melanesians, and sometimes Polynesians have Australoid faces. So do the Senoi, and possibly the Vedda (though not close to Aborigines), and we get the Tamils.
But Polynesians are Oceanians genetically, Senoi are SE Asians, and Tamils are Caucasians. Oh, what a complicated web we weave.
We don’t see Australoid facial structure in SE Asians. In some, maybe we do. There are people with woolly hair and dark skin among the Taiwan aborigines and among the Malay and the Filipinos at least. These people do have some Negrito in them.
In most SE Asians, we just find that they have faces that look, well, SE Asian. It’s a particular look of a face, and it’s not Australoid or any such thing. I’m not sure what it resembles. It just resembles what it is – SE Asians have developed their own specific facial type, and it is what it is and you like it or you don’t, but it owns itself.
If we go looking for Australoid genes in SE Asians, we pretty much come up empty handed. We find Papuan genes in some Southern Chinese, some coastal Vietnamese and some Malays and we find some sort of Australoid-looking genes in Indonesians, mostly to east.
We don’t seem to find any at all in Taiwanese, Lao, Khmer, the rest of the Vietnamese, Thai or western Indonesians. Anyway, we only find a tiny amount in those groups, indicating that it’s nonsense to say that they are part Australoid. It’s just a tiny ancient remnant – that’s all.
When we go looking at Polynesians and Micronesians, things get way more complicated. For a long time, analyses were finding that these people have up to 50% of what look like Australoid genes from Melanesia or Papua, and about 50% some kind of Austronesian genes from Taiwan.
A paper has recently come out showing that Polynesians and Micronesians are almost all Austronesian from Taiwan, and the Papuan – Melanesian connection is minor or even nonexistent. Even this paper showed that Melanesians had a heavy Papuan element, with a small Austronesian element mostly limited to eastern Indonesia. Download a paper looking at the matter on my site here.
Whatever the meaning of these studies, a close look at genetic charts tends to show Oceanians such as Micronesians, Melanesians and Polynesians lining up right alongside Papuans and Aborigines, who are themselves vastly far apart.
Clearly there is an Australoid Race. Clearly Aborigines and Papuans are too extremely distantly related aspects of that race, or maybe even separate major races on their own.
Including Melanesians is difficult. While some treatments now are finding an Oceanian Race separate from Australoids, others are finding a fairly close link between Melanesians and Australoids such as Papuans. It is probably best to say that Melanesians are Oceanians with a fairly close, but still distant, relationship to Papuans. Whatever relationship Micronesians and Polynesians have to Papuans, it is much more distant.
When we line up Aborigines to SE Asians such as Khmer, Malay, Filipinos, Thai, and Southern Chinese, we do not get a thing. The relationship is very, very distant. In many charts, the closest relative will be Polynesians (the connection above again) and then we will find Japanese, Koreans and even NE Chinese.
This is probably due to an Ainu-Gilyak Australoid element that was generalized all through NE Asia at this time.

In my opinion, the Ainu and the Gilyak are the remains of the proto-NE Asians. They probably go back to Lake Baikal around 35,000 years ago. At some point they may have gone to Thailand, then over to Japan, and at 20,000 years ago, they must have gone to Australia. At around 16,000 years ago, Ainu types left the Altai Mountains and traveled to the Americas, possibly via a coastal route on boats. Their ancestors today, other than Fuegians and the Pericu.
Look at those really long fingers on that woman. That looks so strange.
I have seen photos of modern day Gilyaks on Sakhalin Island and they look pretty Japanese. There are projects underway to record and possibly revive their very strange language, which is somehow still alive. These were very much a fishing people, living on the coast and heavily involved in salmon fishing, drying and consumption. They also eat a lot of seaweed. The Japanese diet resembles this in some ways.

Keep in mind at proto-NE Asians (Ainu types) colonized Australia 20,000 years ago and created one of the major inputs into the Aborigines.

A classic Aborigine, possibly from Coon in the early 20th Century. Coon made a number of good studies on Aborigines at that time. An Ainu type called Murrayians is thought to have colonized Australia 20,000 years ago. Around that time, Ainu types were in Thailand and Japan. They seem to have gone from Thailand to Japan around this time as the Jomonese, probably on boats.
Surely they must have used these same boats to go to Australia.
On the way down to Australia, they seem have made up the proto-Australoids, a strange and little-known group from the Philippines that is thought to be the second arrivals after the Negritos. The description of the proto-Australoids sounds like an Ainu type, and their ancient arrival on the islands fits in well with a very early arrival in Australia.

It is true that SE Asians were probably still transitioning from Australoid to SE Asian maybe as late as 5,000 years ago, but NE Asians were making that transition only 9,000 years ago.
According the commenter, SE Asians are Australoids because that is sort of what they were 5,000 years ago. But why should we not include NE Asians, since they were Australoids only 9,000 years ago? Why not include East Indians, since they were Australoids until only 8,000 years ago?
Hell with lineage. Humans were ape-men not too long ago. Maybe even 200,000 years ago, we were still pretty apelike. Hell, Amerindians were still pretty Australoid up until 9,000 ago, and in Colombia even up until 3,000 years ago.
In the Fuegians and the Pericu of southern Baja California, there were physically Australoid types until contact and even afterward, even though the Pericu went extinct.
Truth is, lineage doesn’t really matter. We look at things as they are today. Some things came from other things a long time, but the existing things of today are not the things that they transitioned from long ago, nor are they part of what they used to be.
Instead, they are whole new things, moving from one existence and creation to a new creation all of their own. I am not my ancestors, nor am I even part of my ancestors. But they are part of the creation story that is me and my kin, and that is a wonderful trail of a tale all on its own.

The Origin of the Amerindians

Repost from the old site.
As we noted in an earlier post , the view is converging that Amerindians can be traced back to the Altai Mountains in Southwest Siberia where China, Mongolia and Russia all come together.
Yet another study found that of all Asians, the Turkic-speaking tribes of the Sayan Mountains (west of the Altai Mountains and north of northwestern Mongolia) are the closest to the Amerindians. This group includes the Shor , the Tofalar, the Altai, the Khakass, the Soyots and the Tuva. The Mongolic-speaking Buryats are also included.
The Altai live in the Sayan Uplands. The Soyots and the Buryats are from the Eastern Sayan Mountains. The Shor and the Khakass are from the northwest slopes of the Sayans. The Tofalar are from the northern slopes of the Eastern Sayans. The Tuva are also from the Sayans.

This is an ensemble of Khakass singers called the Sume-r Ensemble. They sure look like Amerindians, don’t they. The Khakass, Turkic speakers of the Sayan Mountains, are related to Amerindians. The Khakass language is in good shape, with 60,000 speakers. The Khakass belong to the Central Asian Mongoloid group. They have wide faces and cheekbones are not very prominent. They are short, with dark skin, and are able to grow beards. This is a traditional shaman woman of the Altai-Kizhi group of the Altai. Of all of the groups listed above, the Altai are one of the closest of all to the Amerindians. As you can see, this woman looks very Amerindian, all the way down to the face paint. She’s even beating on a drum. I can’t believe that there is something like a tepee in the background.
Another powerful connection is that all of these groups practiced Shamanism very prominently. And we know what the aboriginal religions of the Amerindians were – forget all that “Great Creator” crap – most of that was lobbed on recently after they became Christians. The aboriginal religions of the Amerindians were animism and shamanism, combined.
Bama Kanda, a famous Buryat. I believe she is a singer. Although the Buryat look a lot more like typical Asians (note the resemblance to a Mongolian or a Korean here) several studies have now related them to the Amerindians. Strangely enough, the Buryats have an oral tradition that says that a group of them went to the Americas long ago.
From a book called The Last of the Shor Shamans . He looks quite Amerindian. It showcases a few remaining Shor elders who still practice Shamanism and looks into their worldview. The Shor language is doing ok, but it is on the decline all right. Quite a few kids are still speaking it.
The Shor are Uralics, but they have Mongoloid features. They are short, with broad, flat faces. They have light skin and light eyes and can grow a thick beard. The Shors have not done well, and alcoholism and VD are devastating them.
Galina Innokentievna Adamova, a member of the Fast Reindeer folksinging group. She looks like an Amerindian, and her costume even looks Amerindian. The Tofalar language is not doing well. It’s not being spoken by kids. About 30% of the Tofalar speak the language, almost all elderly.
It’s being taught for 1 hour a week in some elementary schools, and the teacher is not even fluent in Tofalar. She conducts the class in Russian. Other villages do not even have schools, and the kids are shipped away to boarding schools.
We have to conclude that once a language is no longer spoken in the home and is reduced to a subject in school, it’s probably on its way out.
The Tofalar are also members of the Mongoloid Central Asian race. They are short, with high, flat faces, without prominent cheekbones.
Nikolay Sergeevich Bakanaev, an expert in Tofalar fairy tales. I can’t believe how much this guy looks like an Amerindian.

The Ket and Selkup are also related to Amerindians, though they are now to the north of the Altai. However, a long time ago, the Ket and Selkup lived in the Altai, and they only moved north later on.

Katun River in the Altai Mountains, origin of the vast majority of the Amerindians. The ancestors of the Amerinds probably left this region to come to the Americas about 16-30,000 years ago.

Another paper has found that there were two waves to the Americas – the first wave, mentioned above, traced back to the Tuva of the Altai, occurred 20-30,000 years ago, not 16,000 years ago as suggested in the paper above. This group moved first to the Chukotka Peninsula, and then into the Americas. They constitute the Amerind speakers of North, Central and South America.

A Tuvan family, ancestors of the vast majority of Amerindians. Tuvans, who live in the Altai Mountains where Russia, China and Mongolia all come together, have one of highest rates of syphilis in the world, attributed to an old shamanistic tradition that encouraged promiscuity among females. The more sex partners a woman had before marriage, the more fertile she would be. It’s obviously not scientifically based.
A Selkup woman. Galina Vladimirovna Kusamina (nee Tamelkina), age 47. Photographed at the Farkovo settlement. The Selkups are not doing well. There is high unemployment, an extremely high rate of alcoholism, and they are victims of racial discrimination. The Selkup are members of the Uralic Race.
The origins of the Uralics are pretty obscure. Their language is Samoyedic. Samoyedic is very distantly related to Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian. Some say that this race is neither Mongoloid nor Caucasoid. Genetically, they do seem to fall in with the Asians. They are short and have short skulls. Asian traits are diminished, and their skin is fairer than in surrounding groups. These people, along with the Ket, are also ancestors of the Amerindians.

This paper also found evidence for a second wave of Siberians to the Americas. This wave came out of the Lower Amur River region near Sakhalin Island, where Russia, China and Korea all together. This wave gave rise to the Na-Dene speakers and the surrounding populations of Amerinds.

The Lower Amur River region, where the ancestors of the Na-Dene came from. The Amur is said to be one of the world’s 10 great rivers.

The Na-Dene migration occurred about 6-7,000 years ago. Some peoples who live in the Lower Amur region include the Negidal, the Ulchi , the Orok and the Udeghe. This paper found that the Negidal and the Ulchi were the progenitors of the Na-Dene.

Click to enlarge. The Lower Amur region of Russia can be seen to the left of Sakhalin Island. On this map, tribes residing in the Lower Amur region include the Negidal, the Ulchi, the Nivkhi, the Oroch, the Udeghe and the Nanai.D. I. Nadeina, a Negidal elder who has been working with linguists in Vladimirovka village, north of Japan near Sakhalin Island. The Negidal language was devastated by the post-Stalin USSR which sent the kids off to boarding schools.10-30% of the Negidal have a command of the language, but only 10% are speakers , all older adults. Younger adults can understand Negidal but not speak it.
Kids speak only Russian. There are only 500 of them left. The language is not written and there is no instruction in it. You can see that she looks Japanese, but anthropologically, thees people are called Paleo-Siberians, members of a group called Baikals. These people are the ancestors of the Na-Dene and surrounding tribes of Amerindians.
Ulchi children in native dress. They look pretty Japanese to me, but the picture does not have good resolution. The Ulchi are ancestors of the Na-Dene Amerindians.
Ulchi women being baptized into Christianity. At first glance I thought that they looked Japanese, but now I am going to say Korean. Anthropologically, they are just said to be Mongoloids of no pure type. Part of them belong to a type called Sakhalin-Amur. These types are short, with a broad, flat face and relatively dark skin. The men may have thick beards.
The Ulchi live, like the Negidal, in the Khabarovsk Krai District of Russia along the lower Amur River north of Japan and northeast of Manchuria, west of Sakhalin Island. The capital of the area is Bogorodskove, about 470 miles north of Japan.
30-40% of the Ulchi have command of the language. Older speakers know it well, the middle-aged less well, adolescents and young adults understand it passively. People under age 20 are not able to speak the language. There is a script and it is taught in schools. The language is used in the home. They are known to hunt seals.

Researching classic genetic markers reveals an interesting story. M130 goes out of Africa, to India and SE Asia (these are the Negritos), then up the coast to North America and the Na-Dene. Originally, M130 is obviously Australoid-Negrito but they go to NE Asian at some point (probably about 9,000 years ago).
Theirs must have been a coastal migration. The remains are in Northwest Canada, Oregon and the Northern California coast, but most of them are probably underwater. They must have gone inland at some point to become the Navajo/Apache. This is the same Lower Amur line that went to the Na-Dene in the paper above.
We know that the original lines in the Lower Amur region came from SE Asia. This mirrors the theories about the Ainu Jomon culture originating in Thailand 16,000 years ago. This correlation is based on a comparison of skulls from Thailand 16,000 years ago with the Jomonese who showed up in Japan shortly after and with the present day Ainu. All three seem to line up.
The tribes of the Lower Amur seem to have a similar provenance to the Ainu.

Ainu men with full beards. As you can see, they do look somewhat Caucasian. However, analysis of their skulls shows that they are Australoid. Their genes are Asian, showing relations to the Andaman Islanders (!) and Tibetans. The Andaman Islanders are the remains of the very first men out of Africa. If the Ainu are related to them, this shows that the Ainu are very ancient indeed.
The tribes of the lower Amur region probably derive from the Ainu. Genetics shows that this line came from SE Asia. A good theory is that the Jomon Culture, which showed up in Japan 16,000 years, is derived from a culture that existed in Thailand at the same time. The archaic Thai left Thailand and came up to Japan, possibly by boats. The skulls of the archaic Thai, the Jomonese and the Ainu all line up.
So the ancestors of the Ainu lived in Thailand 16,000 years ago and earlier and left to come up to Japan to become the Jomonese. It seems that the Ainu were on the move at this time. The Ainu also seem to be connected to the Murrayans, who arrived in Australia, possibly from either Thailand or Japan between 15-20,000 years ago. There is also evidence that they stopped by the Philippines on their way to Australia from wherever.
This is probably the same group as the proto-Australoids, the second group to come to the Philippines. So the Ainu are probably the ancient Thai from 16,000 years ago, the Jomonese from the same time, the Murrayans who arrived in Australia 15-20,000 years ago, the proto-Australoids who came to the Philippines around the same time and the proto-SE Siberians, who probably showed up there around 16,000 years ago.
The earliest Amerindians from 9,000-12,5000 years ago also look like Ainu. It seems that from 9,000-16,000 years ago in Asia, the proto-Ainu were really on the move.

Traditional, older anthropology has held that when the Ainu came to Japan, possibly 16,000 years ago, Japan was already inhabited. It is thought that Japan was inhabited by Negrito types prior to 16,000 years ago.
The Ainu replaced these Japanese Negritos, probably by killing them off. These people were called by the Ainu the pit-dwellers or koro-pok-guru (men with sunken places). These koro-pok-guru were said to be so small as to be considered dwarfs. The only logical interpretation is that these people were Negritos.

An Ainu man with full beard. The Ainu came to Japan from the Kuril Islands to the north, possibly 16,000 years ago. They were hunter-gatherers and liked to eat meat. They were deerskin leggings and salmon-skin boots. Their religion was animism. They were said to be very dirty people who seldom washed for some reason. A man who lived with them 100 years ago for six weeks said they never bathed in that time and never washed any utensils.
They worshiped the bear. Every year they had a Bear Festival and their highest compliment was to compare a man to a bear. The Ainu are pretty unique in this regard, as worship of bears is not common. On the other hand, the Ainu hunted bears, wore their skins and ate their meet. They were said to be a peaceful, kind people and did not practice capital punishment – although someone guilty of murder was mutilated, they were allowed to live.

Along the same lines, another paper found that Amerindians trace back to Mongolia, Manchuria and far southeastern Siberia (the Lower Amur River). The Altai and Buryat populations (just north of Mongolia) were included in the founders. This paper said that Amerindians came 22-29,000 years ago. There are very early sites in Beringia dating back 30,000 years, but they are controversial.

Beringia is now inhabited by Eskimos or Inuit. They are quite close genetically to Asians and they are not really Amerindians. They came quite late. Notice the resemblance to, say, Japanese.

This study found a single 30,000 year old gene in Amerindians. Based on this gene and an earlier study of classic genetic markers that suggested a time of entry at 32,000 years, this study postulated that Amerindians arrived in the Americas 30,000 years ago.
This study (broken link) found a single wave of entry 23-27,000 years ago populating the Americas.
It is now commonly agreed that the first Amerindians were Australoids. These are the Paleo-Indians. They are represented today in the Fuegians.

The Ona of Argentina are thought to be a remaining example of the Paleoindians whose skulls most resemble Australoids.

The skulls of the extinct tribe the Pericu also show similar affinities, as do very old skulls from the Americas about 12-13,000 years ago such as “Luiza” from Brazil and another from Mexico City. These skulls, and the Fuegians, line up with Melanesians, Negritos, Papuans and the Ainu.
Probably around 9,000 years ago there is yet another transition, this time to a more Polynesian type, though affinities with the Ainu remain. The famous Kennewick Man is illustrative of this type. White nationalists love to claim Kennewick man in order to prove that Whites beat Indians to the Americas and therefore this is our land and the Indians are trespassers (I kid you not!).
It is true that Kennewick does look somewhat Caucasian, but so do the Ainus. Kennewick man was not White or Caucasian. This paper definitively measures Kennewick Man’s skull and shows his nearest relations. One thing we should point out here is the Kennewick Man is a member of a race that no longer exists.
He had 64% affinity to Polynesians and 24% affinity to Ainu. There are also affinities to Southern Japan (Okinawans), the Moriori (a Maori Polynesian split-off from the Chatham Islands off the coast of New Zealand) and Easter Island (Polynesians). The Ainu are thought to have originated in the South Asia – South Pacific region.
Kennewick Man is also somewhat close to Papua New Guinea (Australoids), the Marquesas Islands (Polynesians) and the Society Islands (Polynesians). He has no affinities to Caucasians at all, unless you consider Ainus White, which they are not.
It is mysterious why the Ainus appear Caucasoid, but one theory is that when you mix an Australoid with a Mongoloid, you end up with a phenotype that can appear somewhat Caucasoid.

Kem Sokha, a Cambodian politician. If you look at him closely, you can see he looks almost Caucasian. This is probably due to a Mongoloid-Australoid mix, in my opinion.Another photo of Kem Sokha. Forgetting about his eyes for a moment, he looks even more Caucasian in this pic.

The more modern Amerindian types, who resemble Mongoloids and not Australoids, seem to appear about 6-7,000 years ago.
This paper indicates that there were possibly many survivors of the Paleo-Indians into more modern times, and that they did not all transition over around 6,000 years ago. They found “Archaic Colombian” skulls until 3,000 years ago that line up with Australoids.

A Yanonami child from the Amazon. This type typically has a very Mongoloid or Asian appearance. They could easily pass for, say, Filipinos.

This is an Inca. This type is distributed up and down the western part of South America from Chile through Peru to Ecuador and Colombia. A different phenotype.

An Apache warrior, Chief Victorio or Apache Wolf. Though these are Na-Dene speakers, this phenotype is common in the West. Prognathism may be present, along with sharply defined, angular features. Can be quite tall.

A Mexican Indian. Short and often has fairly dark skin. This is the phenotype from which many of the Hispanics in the US of Mexican origin are derived.

Floyd Red Crow Westerman, a well-known Sioux Indian from the Plains. This is a typical Plains Indian phenotype. Strangely enough, they can have a Caucasian appearance. Skin can be quite light also. Can be quite large and well-built.

Are Amerindians Related to Polynesians?

Repost from the old site.
Regarding the post on the Moriori, a commenter asks if any of the Amerindians, in particular the South American Amerindians, are related to Polynesians. They are not.
All of the Amerindians go back to the area where Mongolia, Russia and China all come together – the Altai Mountains east to Lake Baikal. Another smaller group comes from the area around the mouth of the Amur River where China, Russia and North Korea meet.

Click to enlarge. The Lower Amur region of Russia can be seen to the left of Sakhalin Island. On this map, tribes residing in the Lower Amur region include the Negidal, the Ulchi, the Nivkhi, the Oroch, the Udeghe and the Nanai.
Click to enlarge. There is no evidence that South American Amerindians, or any Amerindians, are primarily Polynesian. As you can see in this chart, Pacific Islanders and Amerindians are on completely different ends of the evolutionary spectrum. Amerindians are closer to NE Asians (Japanese, Koreans and Northern Chinese) and Caucasians than they are to Polynesians. Polynesians are closer to Aborigines and Papuans than they are to Amerindians or NE Asians.

However, a Polynesian gene has been found in some tribes on the Pacific Coast of Peru and Chile. It’s theorized that Polynesians must have landed there at some point, but it wasn’t a big settlement. Going back 7-9,000 years ago, all Amerindians looked like Polynesians. The closest match to the Kennewick Man’s (Who is not Caucasian!) skull is nothing other than the Moriori whom we just discussed.
However, that does not mean that Polynesians were in the New World then. 9000 yrs ago, there were no Polynesians. We are talking about races that no longer exist.
It’s probable that some of the ancestors of the Polynesians (= Ainu) resembled the ancestors of these ancient Amerindians (=Ainu). In the chart above, the Ainu are one of the links between the SE Asians, the NE Asians, the Australians and the Amerindians.
The Ainu types are really the clue to this whole puzzle. Ainu types or Ainu types transitioning to pure Mongoloids were generalized over much of Asia back in those days.

Another Look At Mao

I don’t agree that Mao deliberately murdered 10’s of millions of people, or, as the latest crazy book by Jung Chiang, Mao – The Untold Story says, 80 million. If you add the good figures up, it looks like the figure is a lot less than that.
The Fun Gong site is a good source for accurate information.
Adding up their figures, I get 10,151,652 killed by Mao from 1949-1976. The number may well be higher than that, but we just do not know. That’s definitely a Hell of a lot of people!
The famine in the Great Leap Forward was terrible, and probably 15 million died at least, but it was not intentional. The Maoists in general were not intentionally killing people, certainly not by starving them to death. No one really knew what was going on.
It’s not like in these other places, these capitalist places, where there is potentially plenty of food to go around, but the state just refuses to distribute it properly, you know? Or refuses to come up with the funds to buy the food in order to feed the people properly?
The GLF was more manslaughter and criminal stupidity than anything else.
The notion that Communism, and I guess socialism too, always starves the people, everywhere it is tried, is a peculiar rightwing conceit. There was a horrible famine in the USSR in the early 1930’s (but no Holodomor or deliberate famine) and another one in China around 1960. There was mass resistance, sabotage in the countryside, and a food shortage, but no famine, in Cuba in the early 1960’s.
If you notice, the real Commie famines happen around the time when Commies first try to collectivize agriculture. There is some sort of mass resistance or mass screwup, and a famine results. I would argue that if collectivization is going to be done at all, it must be done slowly.
At this point, the record as far as collectivized ag goes is dubious, and maybe collectives or cooperatives are the way to go after all. After 1933, there was scarcely a famine in the USSR. After 1960 or so, there was scarcely one in China.
I have a lot of beefs with the present CCP in China, but I do think that they are dedicated to the greatest good for the greatest number. If you have been paying attention, the whole idea of “the greatest good for the greatest number” is mud in our present capitalist political era. It’s been thrown out the window.
India’s economy has been exploding for 15 years or so, yet the rate of malnutrition has been flat at 51% for the last decade and a half. The capitalist media looks at this and shrugs, and 99% of the time, refuses to even write the story.
Let us write it now!
The death rate under Mao was reduced by about 70% over the death rate under the glorious Nationalists (Kuomintang) who decamped to Taiwan. But did you know that the Nationalists would have achieved just the same thing, had the Chinese fascists actually been given half a chance? Woulda, coulda, shoulda.
They sure were not doing a good job of it before Liberation. Life expectancy under the Nationalists had been flat at 35 for 20 years or so before Liberation, and yes, it was a Liberation. So however many Mao was killing, the Nationalists were killing three times more year in and year out. Put that in your Greatest Mass Murderer Of All Time pipe and smoke it.
A comparison with India and China is instructive. India and China were at the same developmental levels in 1949. Since then, life expectancy has so increased in China over India that we can calculate that there are 4 million excess deaths occurring in India every year as opposed to if they had gone the Chinese route.
Adding it altogether, there have been 100 million excess deaths in India from 1949 to 1980 (and God knows how many ever since) over and above the deaths that the Maoists caused in China.
This is what makes me so mad about the rightwing anti-Maoists.
Mao gets elected Greatest Murderer Of All Time, but Indian capitalists, who killed probably 150 million (and verifiably more than 100 million) more than Mao ever did, are off the hook and getting written up in Time Magazine for their bourgeois bullshit glitter society. Oh, and winning BS feel-good Academy Awards for movies about their evil society too, gold statues awarded to their very own wicked bourgeois that’s causing the nightmare in the first place.
Mao set a world record for doubling life expectancy in the shortest period of time.
Let us repeat. The death rate was lowered by about 70% from what it was during the Nationalist era. So Nationalist China was killing an average of 3X more Chinese every year per capita than Mao was. Mao was the Greatest Killer Of All Time? Forget it. The Nationalists killed 3X more, year in and out. So who takes the gold in the Killer Finals anyway?
Mao was definitely a killer all right, but if you accept the Biggest Murderer That Ever Lived thing, then you also have to accept that he was the Greatest Humanitarian That Ever Lived. No one man saved more lives in a shorter period of time than Mao did. What? You capitalists can’t even come close to that achievement? Why don’t you try then? You guys can do anything, right?
Ready for that cognitive disconnect? I knew you were too chicken.
Tell you what, capitalists. Let’s make a deal. You stop killing people by starving and sickening them, and then we’ll listen to you when you scream about how Commies killed way less with (More humane?) bullets.
Didn’t think so.
Fine, game on, then.

New Neo-Nazi Group Menaces India

Of all places.
It seems nowhere is safe from the Nazi threat. In the Aryan homeland by the Indian Sea, where there is scarcely a Jew to be seen for miles, the Fuhrer’s swan song echoes in the minds of the original Indo-Europeans. They dream of a 3,000 year rule. H-1 B job-thieving fake guest worker “engineers”, Bollywood movies, the smell of curry wafting into the night air, and politically correct Academy Awards are among their subversive plots as they seek to undermine America from within.

Jews, Gypsies and queers cower the world over as the Nazi ideology even spreads to the land of curry and sutee

Questions About the German Language Classification

Updated March 28. In response to some criticisms, I agreed with Professor den Besten in part by removing Limburgs and South Gulderish from Macro-German. I put them in Macro-Dutch, which I will hopefully do a post on in the future. With languages like these, it’s pretty hard to tell where Dutch ends and German begins.I also split Veluws into East Veluws, which stayed in German, and West Veluws, which moved over to Dutch.

In response to the German language post, Hans den Besten, a top Dutch Germanist linguist, first agrees broadly with my classification, but then makes a critique about the scope of Macro-German:

But what is lacking is a definition of what counts as a German dialect. This may differ from case to case. The Low Saxon dialects of the Netherlands may have been included because they are an extension of Low Saxon Niederdeutsch, even though they are under the roof of Schrift-Dutch rather than Schrift-Deutsch. That Limburgish has been included may be due to a couple of High German Low German isoglosses running through that area. But if even South Guelderish and Veluws are included (in so far as I know Veluws is Franconian but for the eastern strip along the Overijssel) I don’t see any reason why Brabantian-East Flemish, West Flemish, Zealandic and Hollandic should be excluded. Furthermore, the exclusion of West and North Frisian also needs some justification. Referring to Anglo-Frisian isoglosses will not be enough because unlike English these languages share a lot of syntax with the rest of Continental West Germanic, since they are SOV cum Verb Second. And if we try to set the two Frisians apart by referring to the idiosyncrasies of the verbal cluster (no Ersatz-Infinitiv, strict head-final order but for the Frisian “kortstaarten” litt. ’short tails’) then — maybe — Gronings should be taken out of your list of German dialects/languages because it shares a lot of verbal cluster syntax with West Frisian.

Hans poses a number of interesting questions about the borders of Macro-German. Let’s look at them one by one.
The Dutch dialects and languages are on this page. As Brabantian-East Flemish, West Flemish, Zealandic and Hollandic are listed as Dutch on that page, I am treating them as Macro-Dutch and not Macro-German.
As far as Gronings goes, I am treating it as Macro-German due to Ethnologue’s grouping here. As you can see, Low Saxon is treated as separate from Macro-Dutch there and also in my treatment. To me, it is better to see Macro-Dutch as something equal to Low Franconian and to put Low Saxon in with Macro-German.
In terms of Frisian, Ethnologue places it outside of Macro-German altogether along with English in the West Germanic Family. Keep in mind that Germanic and German are not synonymous. After all, Swedish is Germanic but not German.
As far as Veluws, Ethnologue sees it as Low Saxon and not as Low Franconian.
Ethnologue has no listing for South Guelderish or for anything similar. South Guelderish is a very confusing classification, that, if anything, looks like a sister language to Limburgs, if not a part of Limburgs itself.
After conferring with a Dutch linguistics professor, I have now decided to remove Limburgs, South Guelderish and the related Low Rhenish lects spoken across the border in Germany from Macro-German.
I have put them in Macro-Dutch, and hopefully will redo the classification of Dutch soon in a separate post. As far as two languages, one called Southeast Limburgs/Aachen, and another called Low Dietsch, they have stayed in Macro-German, because my professor friend described at least the SE Limburgs lects as Ripuarian, with Ripuarian automatically going to Macro-German.
The languages described above are collectively known as Meuse-Rhenish, and to be honest they are transitional between Low Franconian (Dutch) and Low Saxon (German).
We run into a situation like what one finds in Alsace-Lorraine, where curious travelers said that, “Some people speak German, some people speak French,  and others seem to speak languages that are neither French nor German.” Substitute “Dutch” for “French” in the above situation and you have a pretty good portrayal of the confusing language situation on the Dutch-German border.
These languages are confusing because really they are  transitional languages between Dutch and German.
Hans also raises some questions about Dutch Low Saxon. I have decided to throw all of Dutch Low Saxon into Macro-German, as this seems to be the consensus these days. Hans says that Veluws is Franconian, but I am not so sure. My professor said Veluws is regarded as marginally Low Saxon. I am going to hold to my guns and keep Groningen in Low Saxon. A friend of mine remarked today that in some ways, “Dutch” in terms of linguistics is almost a political construct.
A very tricky language to classify was East Frisian Low Saxon.  It’s clearly not Low Franconian (Dutch) but neither is it Low Saxon (Low German). So what is it? It’s really in its own category, which is something like Friso-Saxon, a Low German language with a heavy Frisian base. I put it in Low German because that is where most folks seem to be tossing it.
There have also been criticisms that my treatment was overbroad in scope. If anything, it is conservative.
There may be up to 40 separate languages within Swiss German. The Ripuarian lects are so diverse that 150 of them are different enough that they have had separate dictionaries written for them. Of those 150, about 120 of those have serious differences in lexicon, phonology and morphology. Speakers of Ripuarian frequently refer to “150 Ripuarian languages.” There are probably a number of separate languages within Tyrolean South Bavarian.
However, barring solid documentation for these separate apparent separate languages, it’s not reasonable to split them off yet.
The question comes up about where you split a dialect chain. Indeed, this is one of the trying questions of Linguistics. Once you get to the point where there are some dialects in Lect A that cannot talk to some dialects in Lect B, you have yourself as dialect chain. Hence, Czech and Slovak are split even though Eastern Czech can understand Western Slovak, because Western Czech can’t understand Eastern Slovak.
A commenter points out that the problem of doing this is you are going to end up with separate languages that have communicable dialects. Indeed this is true, but it’s the case in many world languages that they have dialects that communicate with dialects of neighboring tongues.
There is a dialect chain running from Belgium to Austria where each village can talk to the next. There is another dialect chain running from Portugal to Sicily. There is yet another running from about Turkey way over to Siberia.
A greater problem with dialect chains is refusing to split them at some point into separate tongues, because then you have one language with noncommunicative dialects which makes less sense than separate languages with communicative dialects.
I use the term “lect” to mean something that may be either a dialect or a language, or some speech form that we can’t figure out if it is a dialect or a language.
Finally, the perennial question of intelligibility came up. You often read that this or that lect can easily communicate with some other lect, that they are mutually intelligible, more or less mutually intelligible, etc.
It is commonly noted that, for instance, Dutch and Afrikaans are highly mutually intelligible. In fact, my investigation revealed that Dutch speakers say that they have ~80% intelligibility of Afrikaans. That’s probably about what it is.
80% is not mutually intelligible. It means separate languages. The problem with 80% intelligibility is that it is just enough lack of communication to cause what I would call “significant disruption in communication.” This gets more important as we discuss more high-level things. It is almost impossible to discuss complicated and important topics well with less than 90% intelligibility. That’s just enough disruption to throw a serious monkey wrench into things.
At the other end of the spectrum, when we are discussing, say, the weather, much lower levels of intelligibility may be tolerated and we are still able to get our point across.
Some of these determinations were made simply by intuition. On this page, you can look at many different translations, often in Low German, of a single text. Looking at that text in different lects, it become clear which are dialects and which are so different that they may be languages.
Let us take a look here: Hamburgisch, Ollands and
Oldenburg, three Low Saxon lects:
Quick observation shows us that Hamburgs and Ollands obviously must be dialects of one tongue. Yet Oldenburg seems so different that it seems dubious that Oldenburg speakers can converse with the others at 90%+ intelligibility.
Conclusion by “simple observation” (I prefer to call it “direct observation”) was criticized as somehow unscientific. However, direct observation is a well-known scientific technique involved in the hypothesis – testing – conclusion dance of the empirical method.
Keep in mind that much of science is simply observational, hunches, intuition, etc. Francis Crick visualized the double helix structure of DNA via sheer intuition while tripping on LSD.
Sir William Jones famous discovery of Indo-European certainly was simply obervational and intuitive also.

What’s The Hardest Language To Learn?

It’s actually an interesting question. For English speakers anyway, results from the US Army School of Languages in Monterey, California, showed that Chinese, Japanese and Korean are the three hardest.

I believe that Chinese was the worst of all. The main problem with Chinese is that it has an ungodly and unwieldy writing system that is very difficult to learn.

Literate Chinese are supposed to know 3,000 characters. The government has set a goal of 80% of Chinese learning 3,000 characters or more. That’s never going to happen. At the bottom end, you are supposed to know 1,000 characters, but a lot of Chinese don’t even know that many. A very literate Chinese should know 10,000 characters, but I doubt if 1% know that many. There are about 30,000 Chinese characters, but I doubt if anyone knows all of them.

Many rural Chinese learned to read and write but then forgot it once they got to be about 40 or so. They are in the fields all day, and they don’t read and write much, so they just forget.
There is a good argument out there that the Chinese writing system is so unwieldy that it actually harms Chinese competitiveness and the economy. Economic calculations have actually been made of how much damage this orthographic system costs.

When the Communists took over, they introduced a pinyin system in addition to simplifying the Chinese characters. The simplification was a great idea, but the language was still very hard to read and write. The pinyin Romanization is only one of many that have been introduced over time. I don’t think that any of them have worked out well. It is said that the Chinese language being written enabled ~3,500 Chinese dialects to all speak to each other, but now that everyone is learning Putonghua anyway, why not just write Putonghua in pinyin?

There is a problem with writing the other major Chinese languages using the system designed for Mandarin. It is not so easy to write Cantonese, Min, Hakka,Wu, Xiang and Hui using the Mandarin character set. One problem is that Cantonese for instance has quite a few words that lack Chinese characters. To some extent this is true with the other languages also. Min has a Romanization scheme, but most Min speakers don’t know how to use it. The whole idea of writing something other than Putonghua using the traditional Chinese character set introduces all sorts of minefields.

I believe that alternate character sets or additions to the character sets have been introduced for some of the other languages. Due to tones, it gets hard to write Chinese using a Romanization scheme easily, since you have to put all sorts of diacritics on the letters in the isolating language of Chinese.
Something similar is happening with Japanese, which after all uses a character set borrowed from the Chinese.

After the war there were attempts to introduce a Romanization system to Japanese. However, by 1960 or so, Japanese nationalism had returned to Japan, at least to the extent that this Romanization system was seen as a Western imperial affront to the mystical Japanese super-culture. Since then, things have only been on the downswing. Japan actually uses three different kinds of symbol sets, Katakana, Kanji and Haragana. There are Chinese characters mixed into all of this stuff.

Even beyond that, the Japanese language, though not tonal, is mind-bafflingly complex. There are rules, but then there are tons of exceptions to those rules, but the exceptions are not really taught. A native speaker just more or less unconsciously figures out the rules and the exceptions in the course of growing up Japanese.

Anyway, this rule-exception mix is so chaotic and senseless that it’s almost impossible to codify it somehow and then teach it to non-native speakers. The Japanese also have strange concepts like using different counting systems when counting different types of things.

As if speaking it alone were not complicated enough, there is that writing system. Once again, reasonable people have figured out that the convoluted logographics costs the Japanese economy quite a bit per year. But the logographics is seen by the hyperethnocentric Japanese now as a mystical part of their Super-race and Super-culture, and they will not allow anyone to lay hands on it, especially not pesky Western imperialists who occupied their land tried to shove the West down their throats.

The Korean logographic system, Hangul, is actually excellent, and is one of the most logical alphabets ever devised, or so say scholars. It uses a limited character set like English. However, in some way that I am not familiar with, the Korean language is not easy at all for English speakers to learn. Whatever it is, it is not the writing system.

In terms of European languages, Finnish and Hungarian are said to be Godawful languages to learn. British diplomats who were placed all over Europe were notorious for refusing posts in Hungary due to the difficulty in learning the language. Finnish of course is one of the most case-marked major languages on Earth, with 14-15 different cases. Coming from a language like English that does not mark case very much, that must be awfully hard.

In a recent discussion on the Internet, the following languages were thought to be the hardest to learn:

– Navajo
– Tsez
– !Kung (language family)
– Pirahã
– Basque
– Comanche
– Archi
– Etruscan
– Northwest/Northeast Caucasian (language family)
– Aboriginal Australian (language family)

Navajo is a US Amerindian language that is the widest spoken of the Indian languages, with 120,000 speakers. However, there are reportedly over 900 different ways to conjugate a verb! Not to mention 7 different verbal modes, 4 classifier prefixes (whatever those are), 18 kinds of aspect, 25 different kind of verbal pronominal prefixes that mark subject and object at once and verbs that can take up 11 different verbal prefixes at once. Don’t forget hardly any nouns and a universe of verbs – most things we use a noun to describe, Navajo uses a verb – go figure.
The famous US code-talkers of WW2 spoke Navajo, but they also threw in non-Navajo code in there in case the Japanese broke the Navajo language of the code. Anyway, by the end of the war, the Japanese had still not figured out the Navajo behind the code language.

Nowadays with computers, I think any linguistically based code could be broken pretty easily by an advanced society with access to linguistic texts and high powered computers.

Kung is a Southwest African Khoisan language family spoken by Bushmen. It is a click-based language, with many of the sounds being made by clicking the tongue into your mouth in various ways. Although I think that click languages are some of our first languages (Think about it, that’s probably the first step to make in making up a language), that doesn’t mean that they are easier to learn.

Those have to be some of the hardest languages around to learn. As the Khoisan are said to have the lowest IQ’s on Earth, IQ cannot possibly be related to complexity of language.

Pirahã, an Amerindian language getting a lot of fame nowadays due to its grammatical paradoxes, is also said to be very hard to learn. David Everett, the linguist who has written the most about it, is one of the first outsiders to have actually mastered the languages.

Several other anthropologists went to live with them for a while, but they never seemed to master the language very well. Spanish priests made several attempts to learn the language in the past 200 years, but they never got much of anywhere either. Much of it is spoken in strange whistle-like sounds, in fact, it is can be whistled, put into music, or hummed, and often is. So much for those stupid primitives.

Basque is a notoriously difficult language to learn. It is said to be a language isolate, but I think it is related to languages spoken in the Caucasus.

Etruscan is extinct, but what we know of it suggests that if it were alive today, it would be very hard to learn. So much for those stupid ancients, huh?

Northwest and Northeast Caucasian languages are spoken in the Caucasus and are indeed some of the most complex languages on Earth. Fortunately, few people bother to try to learn them. Archi (1,000 speakers) and Tsez (15,000 speakers) are two of these Caucasian languages.

The alphabet of Archi looks daunting enough. Archi supposedly has something like 1.5 million possible noun declensions. Someone tell me how you make a spellchecker for a language like this?

Tsez, with 64 (!) cases, ergative typology, 20 thematic suffixes that are often difficult for even native speakers to use, 4 different, often non-transparent, noun classes, no 3rd person pronouns, 6 different kinds of aspect, 4 different kinds of mood, 18 different kinds of coverbs (Whatever those are), 2 different numeral forms, many different ways of conjugating a verb, many different ways of making up new nouns and verbs, many clitics that can be attached to any form of speech, on and on, is so crazy that it makes you almost glad to hear the language is endangered.

Three of the noun classes cover inanimate objects, so you can see why it is non-transparent.

Comanche is an Amerindian language that was considered by the US military as a code language in WW2 due to its mad complexity before Navajo was chosen for use in the Pacific. However, 17 young Comanche men were chosen as code-talkers on the Western front, and the code was never broken by the master-race brains of the Germans.

Aboriginal Australian languages are also said to be insanely complex, and next to the Khoisan, Aborigines have the second lowest IQ’s on Earth. What this shows us is that language is an essential part of the human tapestry, and you certainly do not need an high IQ to create a wildly complex language that would baffle even many linguists.

It also suggests that !Khoisan and Aborigines, even with IQ’s from 54-62, are not “retarded” in the same way that Westerners with 54-62 IQ’s would be. Complicating matters further, scholars who have worked with the !Khoisan have said that they did not get the impression that these people were unintelligent.

Even more mystifying is that the ancestors of !Khoisan, the Strandwalkers who lived on the beaches of SW Africa some 3,000 years ago, had the largest brains ever recorded in modern people. All the same, they never created Rome either. This suggests that brain size may not be particularly relevant to intelligence and capability of civilization as the White racists insist.

In fact, there seems to be a disconnect between the complexity of a language and the level of civilization of its speakers. The less developed a people are, often the more complex of a language they have. We linguists think that many primitive peoples do not have complicated or busy lives, and they have a lot of time on their hands. They don’t have computers or cell phones to mess around with, so they substitute language.

Humans are inherently highly intelligent – even Aborigines with 62 IQ’s – and they make up insanely complex languages so they can play games with language as a form of creativity and a way to exercise their brains.

As society gets more complex, a complicated language gets more and more in the way of doing things efficiently and even starts to hurt the economy, as the logographic issues of the NE Asians described above suggests.

The Jews Under Stalin

Olive is a 22 year old female Jewish commenter with the mind of someone much older. She and some other Jews hang out in the comments section where they drink, dine, make merry and do battle (with my encouragement) with legions of anti-Semites. Jews Versus Anti-Semites, you’ve got to love it. This makes the comments section like WW2, only way fewer dead bodies. Hers is an excellent perception of Stalin:

Stalin discouraged Jewish self segregation. Before Stalin came to power, the USSR was run by Jewish Bolsheviks, but Stalin tried to eliminate Jewish separatism. That is why Jewish groups label him as antisemitic.
He also destroyed most of the Jewish villages and Jewish culture because he felt that they encouraged Jewish separatism. I suppose you could call him “antisemitic,” because he tried to eliminate Jewish culture as a distinct culture. He may not have murdered Jews en masse, but destroying Jewish culture is antisemitic.

However, what exactly is the destruction of Jewish culture? See that Yiddish was heavily encouraged in the USSR – no state anywhere on Earth has ever promoted Yiddish as well as the USSR did. What was definitely discouraged was Jewish nationalism.
A Jewish state was set up, albeit in Siberia. However, some Jews did move there, and they could and did have a homeland there. I felt it was wrong to give them a piece of Siberia like that.
If anything against argues the notion that the USSR was run by Jews, it is that the Jews got so shafted in terms of being given a ethnic state. Giving them a tiny bit of Siberia thousands of miles away from any known Jewish settlement – how insulting can you get? That’s almost spitting in the face of the Jews, or at least the Jewish nationalists, right?
It is true that Stalin did support Israel at the very start. This should argue against the Super-Jew argument that Stalin was some kind of an anti-Semite. It’s also true that Stalin turned against Israel very quickly after it was founded, because Israel turned towards the US. There did begin at that time some persecution towards Soviet Jews, and it was often based on the fact that they were seen as being pro-Western.
And some Soviet and East Bloc Jews were indeed spying for the West, especially for the CIA. Israel has recently proudly admitted this. So possibly some of the Jews persecuted or executed by Stalin were in fact spying for the West. Stalin quickly turned towards the Arabs because Israel was pro-Western.
The Doctor’s Plot, which SuperJews the world over will not quit wailing about, may indeed have been a plot to murder Stalin. In other words, I think there was a plot to kill Stalin, and I think that Stalin may have been poisoned to death by someone, probably by his own doctors.
Were his physicians Jews? Possibly some of them were. So was there a Jewish Doctor’s Plot to kill Stalin? Who knows? But there may have been ample grounds for suspicion of something like that. Peter Myers has written quite a bit on this subject, and he is not friendly towards Stalin in the slightest. He concludes that Stalin was poisoned by his doctors.
Nevertheless, the persecution of Jews during this period, the campaign against “rootless cosmopolitanism”, the persecuted and executed Jewish Yiddish authors, poets and intellectuals, was an outrage and a crime. This entire period of Stalin’s rule, the last about 6 years or so, could be classed as anti-Semitic.
In Stalin’s (somewhat) defense, at one point someone pointed out to Stalin that his persecution of the Jews smacked of anti-Semitism.  Stalin replied, crying out, “But you do not understand! It is not that they are Jews! That does not matter! They are all Zionists, all of them!” So the Stalinists saw this as a purge of the Jewish nationalists or Zionists within the party.
Golda Meir’s visit to the USSR in 1948 drew one of the largest crowds of Soviet Jews ever assembled. This fact is used by anti-Semites to show that Stalinism was a Jewish-run enterprise. In fact, at this time, it was getting dangerous to be a Jewish nationalist. That mass turnout to see Golda is one of the things that set off Stalin’s alarm bells.
As an aside, the fact that someone could criticize Stalin and easily get away with it shows that Stalin was not the Most Evil Monster That Ever Lived as is implied. Except during a few periods of utter madness like around 1937, the meetings of Stalin’s upper crust were very self-critical, and Stalin himself encouraged an atmosphere of extreme self-criticism at this level of the party, self-criticism being an essential though often abandoned aspect of Marxism anyway.
Stalin typically took criticism well at these meetings, often nodding his head in agreement and taking notes.
Stalin was a bad man in many ways, a mass murderer, a killer. In his time, he ordered the peacetime executions of 900,000 people (not 20-110 million or whatever the fascist and Nazi liars say). Of those, 800,000 were killed in a single year of wild paranoia that spiraled out of control. The paranoia was set off by the discovery of a high-level Nazi-Trotskyite plot within the deepest recesses of the party to hand part of the USSR over to the Nazis.
The fact that the Great Terror continued for only one horrible year and was then abruptly stopped was due to self-criticism within the party. The highest levels of the party, including Stalin himself, finally realized that the madness had gone completely insane.
Anna Louise Strong’s great but hard to find book, The Stalin Era, which can downloaded on this site here, makes this clear. The party got itself together and ordered a wind-down to the crazed mass killings and paranoia that had overtaken the party.
After Stalinism, things stayed bad for Soviet Jews, but an argument against mass anti-Semitism is that almost every year, a Soviet Jew won Best Chess Champion in the USSR. How they could do this is in a viciously anti-Semitic state is mysterious.
In Poland in the late 1960’s, a very lamentable period of anti-Semitism emerged, set off tragically by Polish Communists. Zionology (the study of Zionism) as a scholarly discipline was set up and actively pursued. Zionology was really the study of Jews.
Things got bad, but there were no death camps or pogroms.
Yitzak Shamir, former Prime Minister of Israel, was once asked whether the USSR was an anti-Semitic state. He replied that on the contrary, “The USSR was anti-anti-Semitic. It was the most anti-anti-Semitic state that has ever existed.” He also famously stated that the Poles “drank their anti-Semitism from the milk of their mother’s breasts,” in other words, it was an essential part of their culture.
Both of Shamir’s statements are truer than either the anti-Semites or the SuperJews want to believe.

A Reworking of German Language Classification

Updated June 27, 2016. This post will be regularly updated for some time. Warning! This essay is very long; combining all 3 parts together, it runs to 255 pages.
This post has been broken into three parts: Part 1: Low German, Part 2: Middle German and Part 3: High German.
This classification divides German from 20 languages to 137 languages based on the criteria of intelligibility. >90% intelligibility = dialect, <90% intelligibility = language.
The German languages, and German is not a single language, but, like Chinese and Italian, a family of languages, have been in need of a good reclassification for some time now. Ethnologue has done an excellent job, dividing German into 20 separate languages.
However, Ethnologue’s treatment does not go nearly far enough, as they themselves admit in the entry for Standard German: “Our present treatment in this edition is incomplete.” The entry for Low German itself formerly stated that LG is made up of 20-30 separate mutually unintelligible dialects, although this has been revised to “differing intelligibility, depending on distance” in the latest edition.
Hence, this treatment will attempt to expand the 20 German languages listed at present into a higher number. Many of the language divisions noted below are arbitrary, and admittedly based on more intuition than hard evidence. In many cases, intelligibility testing could clear up a lot of confusion. This treatment, like my prior treatment of Chinese, is best seen as a series of often very tentative hypotheses rather than a set of conclusions.
The classification scheme (for instance, the decision to include Low Saxon as a part of Macro-German rather than a part of Macro-Dutch) is fairly arbitrary and is not the purpose of this treatment, which deals mainly with intelligibility. This treatment makes no statements about classification, generally just following Wikipedia and Ethnologue. There are others doing major work on classification, and I will leave that up to them.

The Frankish Kingdom and West Europe in general, probably around 700-900 or so. The Frankish Kingdom gave rise to the German, Dutch and French languages.
The Frankish Kingdom and West Europe in general, probably around 700-900 or so. The Frankish Kingdom gave rise to the German, Dutch and French languages.

So far, this classification expands German from 20 separate languages to 142 separate languages. It is incomplete, and it is also a pilot study intended to spur further research, analysis and especially evidence-based criticism.
Criticism is welcome, as long as it is rational and evidence-based. Keep in mind that we have valid intelligibility data for a lot of these languages, so wild claims of widespread intelligibility are likely to be ignored. Further splitting is certainly warranted, and lumping may be too. Both will require evidence before proceeding.
Method: Literature and reports were examined to determine the intelligibility of the various dialects of German. Native speakers of various lects were also interviewed, and the results of scientific intelligibility testing were examined. There was an appeal to authority – if states or the ISO recognized that a lect was a language, this determination was simply accepted.
>90% intelligibility was considered to be a dialect of German. <90% intelligibility was considered to be a separate language from Standard German.
The emphasis was on intelligibility rather than structural factors. Certain sociolinguistic factors also went into the calculation, but their use was minimized. Overtly political argumentation was ignored.
This piece may be seen as a companion piece to my other similar pieces. A reclassification of Chinese expands Chinese from 14 languages into 343 languages. A reclassification of Catalan reanalyzed it from 1 language to 2 languages. A reclassification of Occitan changes it from 6 languages to 12 languages. A reclassification of Dutch changed it from 15 to 30 languages.
As far as my qualifications for writing this, I have a Masters Degree in Linguistics, and I have been employed as a linguist for an American Indian tribe where I created an alphabet, ran the language program, worked on a dictionary and phrasebook and did fieldwork with native speakers.
German, like Chinese, is a pluricentric language, with a standard version and many typically mutually unintelligible major dialects surrounding it. Interdialectal comprehension is achieved via the use of Standard German.
Hence, the intelligibility estimates by the ignorant are going to be biased. What these people mean when they say that everyone in Germany can understand each other is that they can when they speak Standard German to each other. However, there are still a few older folks in Germany who cannot speak Standard German and can only speak their regional form of German.
There are 27 main German dialect families, and all are considered to be separate languages.
The German dialects exist as a dialect chain where dialects are normally intelligible to the dialect regions next door, but not to those more distant. At the same time, it is frequently stated that the major German dialects are not mutually intelligible. This makes delineating languages from dialects quite difficult and is why intelligibility testing is needed.
Most German “dialects” have low intelligibility (below 90%) to speakers of Standard German, because they are quite divergent and hence hard for a Standard German speaker to understand. There is a strong suggestion that all of the strong forms of the regional lects are not intelligible to a speaker of Standard German.
Germany is awash in dialects. There are over 4000 (!) different dialect groups within Low German alone, and there are 150 dialects in Ripuarian Franconian that were different enough to have dictionaries written for them.
In addition to not being intelligible with Standard German, the major German dialects are in general not mutually intelligible with each other either. Inside of that, there is the even more alarming suggestion that many of the major dialects are so diverse that they are not even completely intelligible among themselves.
A graph of the major German languages is here, and an even better one is here.
A map of the major German dialects by their German names.
A map of the major German dialects by their German names.

Separate languages or suspected separate languages are bolded below. Dialects or extinct languages are generally italicized. Macrolanguages that do not deserve separate language designation are generally printed in normal typeface. All languages and dialects are spoken in Germany unless otherwise noted.
Languages or dialects marked by an asterisk were definitely full languages 50 years ago, but whether they still are today is less certain. Some may still be languages, others may have dwindled to dialects and others may have disappeared. 50 years ago, those languages were still alive and well and probably even being taught to children. Most or all still have speakers, though the youngest speakers may be over 50 in some cases. These starred lects are very tentative additions to this classification.

Good News

Here. What’s so barbaric about it anyway? Colonization is what’s barbaric.
More good news.
Hell with this peace accord crap.
Look, let’s cut the crap for just one second.
There is no such thing as “Northern Ireland”. There is a place called Ireland. One place. There are no two places, one called “Northern Ireland” and another called “Ireland.” “Northern Ireland” is part and parcel of a land called Ireland.
Yes, Britain maintains a British colony in the north. There is nothing unusual about this. Henry II went to Ireland over 800 years ago, and it’s been a British colony to a greater or lesser extent since. The first war of national liberation was in 1916, but not all of the land was freed. The north is still a colony of the British colonizer.
As such, the Irish people of the north are an occupied people just like the Palestinians. According to the UN Charter, occupied people have the right to use armed struggle to rid themselves of occupation. If it’s right for Palestinians, it’s right for the Irish. This is why the PFLP had an alliance with the IRA for a bit.
From the Bar Kokba Revolt to Pontiac’s Rebellion to the Battle of Algiers, it’s one extended tapestry, chapters in a novel with an unchanging plot.
Colonialism is either right or it’s wrong. This is a progressive axiom. Not right sometimes, but wrong other times.
As you may have guessed, of course this blog supports the IRA.

What the Future Hispano-Catholic USA Will Look Like

Like this.
For everyone on the Left assisting with this idiot lunatic invasion of our land, have you ever stopped to think for just one millisecond about what an Hispano-Catholic USA will look like?
Abortion is not really legal in any Latin American land outside of Cuba, and it’s hardly very legal in any Catholic country on Earth. Italy, supposedly the exception, has a very complex abortion law. In all Catholic nations, including the so-called Italian outlier, the Church meddles incessantly in the affairs of the state and society. Even in Italy, the political parties endlessly pander to the Church.
My leftwing Italian friends despise the Church, though confessing  they are still Catholics. Turning your nation into a Catholic majority state is like tossing a hundred billion kudzu seeds into the fields surrounding your town and assuming nothing’s going to happen. Catholicism is a Kudzu Religion.
Once it gets in, you have a Hellacious jungle-ivy like plant invasion that wraps its tentacles around everything in sight. It blocks the view and trips you when you try to walk. Not only that, but its ineradicable.
How is it that the Left assumes we can go Hispano-Catholic in demographics without turning into just another Latin American country? We can’t. Hispano-Catholic people create Hispano-Catholic countries. What do those countries look like? Cast your eyes yonder down south of the border, down Mexico way…and beyond.
I love Hispanics, but what I like even better is the idea of separate countries. One of the things that made this country great was that it was not founded by Iberian Catholics. One of the things that has made Latin America so fucked up in such a predictable, replicable and pattern-like fashion is because they were colonized and founded by Iberian Catholics.
It’s why we have the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the 1st and 4th Amendments, and why most of Latin America never developed anything comparable to this very day.
Spain was still fighting semi-feudalism in the 1930’s. It was so bad it needed an armed Left to try to take it out, and the Hispano-Catholic semi-feudalist fascists won anyway. As Spain is one of the Central Headquarters for the Catholic Kudzu Infection, Spaniards probably hate the Church more than anywhere else, while they remain of course conflicted.
One of the most curious things about the recent history of Spain has been the peculiar yet regular outbreak of church-burnings. Whenever things get really weird in Spain, the Spaniards go insane and start attacking and burning down churches.
No one knows why they do this, and my understanding is that both the Left and the Right engage in this mass nuttiness. Spaniards have this relationship with the Church like a serial killer has with his Mom. And yet they can’t let go.
You can’t understand Hispanic culture via Iberia until you understand the Pakistan-Peruvian Axis. This is an axis of lands that were colonized by the Arabs and consequently by Islam. Over hundreds of years, the essentials of Arab culture, similar today as when they ruled Andalusia, were transmitted. So Southern Italy, Turkey, the Balkans, Spain, Portugal, Greece, all the way to Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan all became more or less Arabized.
Those crazy Pashtuns we are fighting in West Pakistan and Afghanistan are a very Arabized people.
And there is no way to truly understand Latin America until you realize that the Latin Americans also have been Arabized, via the Arabized Iberians who conquered and colonized them.
Manically obsessive honor, extreme masculinity, profound sexism where women are chattel property, casual and unthinking cruelty, vast extremes of wealth and power that one may not challenge, and willful, even arrogant ignorance are just some of the Arab baggage these nations carry.
An Arab male grows up in a home where his father is the undisputed King of all things. Everyone in the home knows this, no one talks about it, and there is nothing to be done anyway. As the male is the King of the house, so the boys are Little Kings in their own way. They are allowed to lord it over their sisters, cousins, female relatives and probably even their own mother.
The Arab boy grows up a little dictator. He grows up into a cruel world with no justice, one that is rent with mini-fiefdoms that reproduce fractal-like, a land in which discrimination permeates everything. There is no unity, and “society” is nothing more than a warren of squabbling tribes.
To the extent that they come together for any reason, it’s always a marriage of convenience. There is no ideology, there is not much politics, and there’s not much of a market. In place, there is religion and tribalism, rewritten as family-based clans.
Even political parties are religious and clan-based. Ideology changes more often than styles in a 5th Avenue window, for the simple reason that it hardly exists. Different tribal, religious and clan-based parties try on new ideologies and toss them aside, always jockeying with the others for the only thing that matters, which is power.
Hence, alliances are obsessively necessary, and these alliances, in their ever-shifting form, often absurd and unworkable from the start, still manage to putter along. With power comes loot. Loot buys you everything in the Arab World, and even enables you to escape the Ultra-Kudzu called Religion.
In Arabia, no one has any morals or values when it comes to money and what passes for politics, everyone bribes everyone and is as corrupt as a human can be, and disputes are often settled with the finality of lead. None of this is seen by the Arab as the slightest bit remarkable.
The Arab evolved in the desert, and so did his religion. His religion is as harsh and brutal as its desert birthplace. In the desert, survival is everything. There is no time for politics, for the market, for ideology. You can’t eat or drink that stuff, so it’s worthless.
There are always too many humans for the harsh land to support, so it’s a Darwinian place. People are either friends or enemies, and there is no in between. Friends and enemies can be as effervescent as mirages, and can transform into the opposite in an eye-blink.
The Arab is crafty and devious and has a 1000 plots, scams and conspiracies up his sleeve at any time. This is so he can survive in the desert. You can’t make it alone out there. Other cruel folks are always trying to take your land, livestock or life, and this fact is as simple and quotidian as the burning sun in the sky.
Hence, alliances are essential. The desert is unforgiving, and mistakes can be deadly. Hence, survival itself is an endless challenge of scheming and conniving, and the Arab is an extremely clever fellow.
I always felt that the stereotype of the tricky and sneaky Jew was due to their co-evolving with these Arab people.
When the young Arab man goes out to get a job, he finds more cruelty and harshness. Fairness is not an Arab concept; there is none here. If he wants a job, something is expected from him in return. If you take or receive money from someone for anything, including employment, it always comes with strings attached. Everyone has an ulterior motive for everything, everything is underhanded and often unstated and nothing is up front.
Fanaticism permeates Arab society as the sun tints our day. Fanaticism is as normal and unquestioned to the Arab as the sun that warms our bones and lights our way.
The violence that typically follows mass fanaticism periodically rends Arab society. Thus, the Arab lives in terror of fitna, which means strife. The glue that holds Arab society together is cheap and doesn’t really work, so harsh social rules have to be laid down.
The Arab is also obsessed with sex, and the idea of fitna is imbued with sex. One sense of fitna is that this is what will happen if men and women start fucking casually as they normally ought to be doing. The whole house of cards culture will come toppling down, and the deadly anarchy that periodically sweeps Arab lands will follow. Hence male-female relations are policed rigidly, and you have mass sexual frustration on the part of the men and probably of the women too.
The Saudis, Gulf Arabs and Afghans are so terrified of fitna that they allow mass opportunistic male homosexuality in preference of breaking down the apartheid between men and women and the chaos that may follow.
This has been a brief sketch of Arab society.
Keep in mind that as Latin America has been Hispanicized, to some extent it has also been Arabized. With Hispanicization comes not only the baggage of 500 years of Hispanic culture, but that of the Ancient Church of Rome along with the time-stopped world of the backwards Arabs.

More on White Nationalism and Zionism

David Kelsey, who has his own website, comments in the Why White Nationalism And Zionism Are Creatures of a Feather thread:

There are definitely some similarities between various strains of Zionism and various strains of race realism and White Nationalism. But an analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian (and with most of the other Arabs) situation is not complete unless one considers the underlying religious conflict as well, something that both racialists and Marxists seem prone to dismissing, not even allowing for narratives. But it is quite an important factor, though not the only factor.
What do you think of the following classification of severity? This isn’t mine, but based on my own understanding of the explanation VDARE expressed grappling with its own classification.
1) Race Realists
2) White Nationalists
3) White Supremacists

I guess the religion could substitute for race here. My point is that Israel is all about bigotry, whether religious, racial, ethnic or whichever. It doesn’t really matter what reasons are given for the bigotry. The comparison with White nationalism was only on the basis that WN’s are bigots also and wish to separate themselves away from and discriminate against the Racial Other. In the same way, Zionists are bigots (of whatever irrelevant tendency) who wish to separate themselves from and discriminate against the Non-Jewish Other.
This is the nature of the analogy, not whether or not Zionists are racialists.

Race Realism, White Nationalism and White Separatism

David Kelsey, who has his own website, comments in the Why White Nationalism And Zionism Are Creatures of a Feather thread:

What do you think of the following classification of severity? This isn’t mine, but based on my own understanding of the explanation VDARE expressed grappling with its own classification.
1) Race Realists
2) White Nationalists
3) White Supremacists

David’s hierarchy is just fine. In practice, most WN’s other than Jared Taylor are White Supremacists and I think JT considers himself one too. Almost all WN’s are in fact White separatists. Show me a WN who is not a White separatist. And in practice almost all of them are White Supremacists. They few that are not are Asiaphiles. That White nationalism and White Supremacism are two different things is one of the big lies of White nationalism. In praxis, it’s generally not so.
As far as race realism (and I speak as a race realist), its real-life consequences are so devastating and extreme if taken to its logical conclusions, that most White race realists at some time or another seem to adopt some aspects of the WN platform. I was really hoping you could be a race realist and not drift into this nasty stuff, but I’m not so sure.
Most race realists, after some time, eventually advocate: getting rid of anti-discrimination laws, restrictions or punishments of various types against Blacks and Hispanics, radical restructuring of immigration law such as ending immigration altogether and ending all immigration by certain groups. Quite a few of them eventually drift into some sort of White separatism.
The progression is pretty clear. One typically goes from race realist to White nationalist (of some type or another) all the way to an extremist separatist or supremacist. The progression is so predictable and regular that we could almost plot it out on graphs.
I would add that most race realists in the US seem to drift inevitably the Right as part of their enlightenment. In Europe, it is much different. There, most of the overtly racialist White movement is socialist in one way or another. Capitalism isn’t a White man’s religion, and capitalism screws Whites as hard as any other ethnic group.
The notion that capitalism is a White thing or to be pro-White is to dementedly pro-capitalist and psychotically anti-government is a particular conceit of the White racialist movement in the US, and has to do with US racial dynamics.
Whites are seen as producers, and evil liberal, anti-White government takes White tax money and gives it to no-good “nigger and spics” so they can make tons of babies that hate Whites and prey on them and help take over America for the non-Whites – this is how the line goes.
The line is “government always hates Whites.” On a worldwide and historical scale, that’s preposterous, nor does it have predictive validity for future societies. Government is government. It does not de facto, by its very nature, hate or favor any particular ethnic group in any way, shape or form. A pro-White government, or at least not one that is anti-White, is just as possible and reasonable as the other way around.
It would be nice if we could have a nice, polite, orderly America in the 21st Century if most Whites adopted race realism, but it’s probably not possible.
The WN’s always like to point out that not too long ago, almost all Whites were what we would nowadays call “race realists.” Much worse, they were out and out Nordicists hostile to Eastern and Southern Europeans and Jews.
The suggestion is that since Whites were so reasonable with this race realist stuff in the past, why can’t we just go back to that? Because the probable consequences of that mass belief in race realism were segregation and Jim Crow, anti-miscegenation laws, no civil rights, voter rights or housing rights laws, and mass racism, bigotry and discrimination on the part of Whites. Go back to race realism and you probably go back to its consequences.
Given the baggage that race realism carries with it, it makes sense for progressives, Leftists, anti-racists, Blacks and Hispanics to oppose it the way they do. They aren’t stupid at all.

I'm Still Figuring Things Out

I can’t believe that here I am, I’m 51 years old, and I’m still figuring out what ought really to be the most and obvious things about life. I had just an epiphany that finally tied together so many of the mysteries that never made any sense to me in life. Here it is:
Women love macho, masculine guys, alpha males, etc.
They dislike, hate, are annoyed with, detest, are irritated with, are exasperated with, are enraged with, are infuriated by, and are driven into ball-breaking, demonic, cackling, impotence-creating, hellacious, castrating, asking to be killed right now, bitches by passive guys, beta males, guys with no balls, not macho, guys not seen as masculine, macho, or androgynous types.
There really are no, or few, exceptions to this rule. There are some women who are not like this, but not many.
This is seen quite a bit less at the younger ages. Young women and girls often go for looks alone, and they swarm all over pretty boys, male model types, movie star types, whether they are macho or not. The sexual attraction of young females must for some reason be oriented more towards the male type – they are just attracted to good looking, hot guys. Sure, girls and young women like bad boys, but they’re much more likely than older women to go for androgynous pretty boy types and not complain too much.
At this age, females are competing for “the cutest guys” or “the hottest guys.” Nobody has any money at this stage, so if you’re poor or low income, it’s no loss for a guy.
Soon into the mid 20’s, everything changes, and it’s all about money, everything turns into money. You can be the best looking guy on the planet and if you don’t have a dime, it’s all worthless.
And women start to get much more into the macho types (Why?). Further, if a man doesn’t have much money, he’s definitely not much of a man, although macho guys keep doing well at least through their 20’s, even the ones that have no money and refuse to work, although it starts getting harder to keep up this gig.
Into the 30’s and 40’s, good looks are virtually worthless for a man. I’ve known guys who were about the best looking guys in town in their age range, but they had a low income, and they didn’t have a date for years, plus it seemed like women had no interest in them whatsoever.
Could you imagine a similar thing with the best looking woman in town? Suppose there was a 35 year old woman in town who was about the hottest 35 year old around. Only problem was she had a low income.
How many guys do you think would be bothered by that? Every guy in town would be after her. Have you ever heard of a guy turning down a hot babe because she doesn’t have any money? A woman doesn’t need money. All she needs is looks and then she can work on her back as long as she is young enough to get away with it.
No straight man can pull this off, although in the gay community men do. There are very good looking gay men, who, just like beautiful women, don’t really have to work, and can just make money by working on their backs and hooking up with as wealthy of men as they can find as long as their looks hold out.
I always chuckle when feminists complain that women can’t get jobs. Admittedly, this can be a problem for many women, but if a woman is beautiful enough and young enough, she can become very wealthy just by attaching herself to moneyed males as they come along.
She never has to work a day in her life as long as the looks hold out. Men are perfectly willing to support beautiful women and won’t even demand that they work one day out of the year, as long as they are getting enough sex out of the deal.
I wonder if older women ever get over it, and I’m not sure if they do.
This has cleared up quite a few things for me. I always wondered why women aren’t more turned on by brains. Why don’t women see the smartest guy in town and (assuming he had some other decent qualities) think, “Oh man, do I want to fuck that guy! He’s a genius, damn, I so want him, right now!”?
Women often say that they love a smart guy, but I think it’s crap. I’m convinced that hardly any women are turned on by brains. I mean, you go to the beach, and do you see all the beach bunnies looking for the brainiest guy? Come on.
The truth is that brains, and the things that we achieve with our brains, are worthless to a female simply because intellectual skills and intellectual achievements are not a masculine thing. Sure, women heap praise on these guys, but it doesn’t make them horny. It’s actually the opposite. Sexually, it’s probably a massive turnoff.
This is why women hate depressed men so much. I don’t see how depressed guys can even get a woman. It’s beyond me. I have a friend who has suffered depression much of his life and he’s never even had a date. He’s smart as Hell and he’s not bad looking. No woman wants to take care of a man.
This is why males cover up their depression with drinking, drugs, gambling, crime, anger or whatever. Women bitch about this forever, and they are furious that we won’t cry, but there are good reasons for this. Most of us males have been sad, or cried, or were depressed when we were young. We got punished for this in various ways, sure by other males, but you better believe by females too. Most of us wised up quick and knocked it off in one way or another.
I went through a phase of my life when I was depressed. I kept working full-time anyway, but I was sad. At times, I would be fighting off tears during the workday – the tears were just welling up in my eyes, but I wasn’t actually crying, I was just fighting it off. Well, I got treated pretty bad for acting like that, but the worst contempt and hatred came from women of all ages, especially Hispanic women.
Damn right we mask our depression, ladies. And you women are one of the main reasons we do it. Even if we’re not that depressed, women don’t sympathize. Men usually don’t either, but a man of any age telling a woman of any age that he’s depressed, even mildly, is pretty deadly. The conversation goes cold as stone real quick, and there’s not a trace of sympathy in their eyes. “You fucking pussy, you’re depressed. How I hate you for this, you fucking fag.” This is what she’s thinking.
Depression is nothing for a woman because most guys will go for a depressed woman if she’s good looking enough. We figure most women are more or less prone to depression anyway, so it goes with the territory.
Similarly, neurosis must be an incredible burden for a male. I don’t see how neurotic guys can possibly have healthy relationships with females, and I’ve had some problems myself. No matter what’s going on, she’s always stamping her foot impatiently hoping he’ll get his shit together, knock this neurotic bullshit off, and quit being such a puss and a wimp.
Face it, neurosis is pussy, wimpy behavior. It’s the polar opposite of macho. I’m convinced many neurotic guys really can’t help it, but it makes sense that their relationships are Hell.
I talk to a lot of guys with OCD on here because I’ve written some articles on the subject. They contact me because they have some OCD worries and they want some help from me in dealing with these anxieties and fears, so I end up talking to a lot of these folks.
It’s quite common that OCD guys are having some really crappy relationships with women. In particular, what you often see is the situation where the woman is openly going out with another guy right in front of the OCD guy, complaining about what an asshole the new guy is (because he’s alpha and that’s what attracted her), and pretty much waving the new guy in front of the OCD guy’s face.
The OCD guy is calling her up and she’s hanging up on him, telling him she’s busy, refusing to call him back, saying she has a date, or calling the new guy into the room and talking to him when she’s on the phone with the OCD guy. This is about the most evil, asking to get murdered, behavior that women do. I can’t even believe that they do it, except that I’ve seen it over and over.
Yep, if a woman thinks you are not masculine enough, one of the ways she is going to rub it in your face is by going out and finding some macho guy and more or less fucking him right in front of your very face. That’s about the ultimate in cuckoldry. And yeah, women who do that are asking to get murdered. You can quote me on that too.
Why is she doing this? Her contempt for this guy’s wimpiness is so huge and her rage for his lack of masculinity is so great that she is going to display this contempt by basically fucking another guy right of him, mocking him, and shrieking, “What are you going to do about it, pussy?”, all the while cackling diabolically. When I say that women are sometimes sheer evil, this is what I mean.
What wraps this all together is the mystery of why women are always running around with complete assholes. As in guys who  commonly and typically do things to women that I would never do in a million years. Meanwhile, millions of nice guys, often very handsome, are utterly dateless. Nice guys are wimps, and though you can be nice and macho and get away with it, you can’t be nice and not macho. Massive fail.
Assholes may be assholes, but they are macho. She’s not attracted to him because he’s a prick; she’s attracted to him because he’s macho. The asshole part more or less goes with the macho part, at least at lot of the time.
This is why women are endlessly ending up in abusive relationships with guys who emotionally abuse them, beat them, rape them, steal their money, steal their stuff, run up their credit cards, cheat on them, keep them prisoners in the home, try to force sex on them when they don’t want it, and just generally make their lives Hell.
You often hear that idiot females are entangled in relationships with guys like this – even ones who beat them – that they can’t get out of. They keep going back to the guys.  He keeps making up to her, promising to be good, buying her gifts, and sometimes “he’s just so sweet”. And then he beats her again. I’ve seen women go back to these guys over and over.
Hispanic women in particular seem to pick real losers. It’s not unusual to be a customer in a nice establishment and see some younger Hispanic guy with tattoos all over him who looks like he just got out of prison. You think, “What’s this barrio scumbag maggot doing here?” Then you see this really nice Hispanic woman who works there walk over to him. Yeah. It’s her boyfriend.
At the really low class level, like in my neighborhood, the Black woman upstairs and the Hispanic woman next to her had regular wild, screaming fistfights and domestic abuse scenes with their boyfriends. Ok, so dump his sorry ass? Nope. They stayed with them. Both of these guys were great big super macho types. One was an ex gang member and the other was a football player. And all these nice guys don’t have dates.
Sometimes…I think women deserve to get beaten. There are plenty of nice guys out there who would never lay a hand on her in 50 years, but she won’t touch them because she thinks they’re pussies. So she goes for the macho types, and of course they knock her around. And she keeps going back to him, and he keeps whacking her. I’m not sure if these guys ever cut it out.
Excuse me? You deserve it!
There’s a part of me who thinks that this behavior is pretty maladaptive for females. It’s clearly a legacy of our genetic past, and obviously we are genetically driven to act this way. But in humans, we have consciousness and the ability to analyze and understand our primitive instincts, so we are not sworn to them and can easily blow them off. Repression and sublimation are just two ways, transcendence is better.
There’s a rapist, killer and wife-beater in most men, including surely me, but most of us never act on it. Despite our obvious ability to transcend our baser instincts, we seem doomed to be as much creatures of instinct as these dogs and cats that run around our houses.
I don’t get it.
I’ll write some more on this later.

Why White Nationalism And Zionism Are Creatures of a Feather

What if a recent survey showed that:
*  Some 55 percent of American Whites say that the US should encourage Nigger emigration (Back to Africa movement);
* 78 percent of American Whites oppose including Nigger parties in the government;
* 56 percent agree with the statement that “Niggers cannot attain the American level of cultural development”;
* 75 percent agree that Niggers are inclined to be violent. Among Black-Americans, 54 percent feel the same way about Whites.
* 75 percent of American Whites say they would not live in the same building as Niggers.
Well, sure, you would not believe your ears. In 1935, or the US South of 1955, sure. In today’s Obama-America, forget it.
But wait a minute! What if this poll was taken in The Only Democracy in the Middle East©?
*  Some 55 percent of Jewish Israelis say that the state should encourage Arab emigration;
* 78 percent of Jewish Israelis oppose including Arab parties in the government;
* 56 percent agree with the statement that “Arabs cannot attain the Jewish level of cultural development”;
* 75 percent agree that Arabs are inclined to be violent. Among Arab-Israelis, 54 percent feel the same way about Jews.
* 75 percent of Israeli Jews say they would not live in the same building as Arabs.
Perhaps we, liberal, Judeophilic Whites that we are, would not our heads sagely, voice “Democracy is not a suicide pact” or other aphorisms, mention that there have been other “population transfers” in the 20th Century that went down quite nicely, like, you know, Greece and Turkey in 1915-1920, India and Pakistan around 1948, Germans in Eastern Europe after WW2, well, we could go on and on with this wondrous population transfer thingiemajoo.
Shall we note that all such transfers were conducted in the midst of mass genocides (350,000 dead Greeks, 1-2 million dead East Indians, 2 million dead Germans)? Oh, pshaw! Why be bothered by such trivialities when Palestinians are in the hands of the Most Humane Military on Earth©?
I always wondered why so many White nationalists, not otherwise afflicted with anti-Semitism, supported Israel.
Well, of course.

A Lie Called "Poverty-Stricken Mexico"

In the comments section, James Schipper points out that as Mexico gets increasingly unstable with the Drug Civil War, more Mexicans will come here due to safety fears. He also suggests that Mexico’s economy will decline in the future with the decline in oil prices. I respond, noting two things. First, that I am hardly aware of any Mexicans fleeing Mexico for safety reasons, and two, that Mexico’s economy is much wealthier than most people assume.
Personally, I am not sure how many Mexicans are coming here out of fears to their safety. The ones I talk to act like Mexico is not that dangerous, and they have lived there a long time. The drug violence is generally limited to certain areas. Keep in mind that there has been a background level of political violence in Mexico for some time now.
It’s clear in speaking with illegals, and I have spoken to many of them, that they are coming here strictly for economic reasons and for none other reason.
The wage differentials are so great that at an average wage of $10/hr, an illegal can quickly send home enough $ to buy a house in Mexico. The wage differential here in California for many of the jobs illegals do is about 8-1 or 10-1. Now, average wage in the US is about $14/hour last time I checked.
Supposing there was a country to the north of us where the  the average wage, was $112/hour, even if living costs were quite a bit higher than in the US. The minimum wage might be a bit lower, maybe around $73/hour. That means you could sweep floors or work at McDonald’s for $73/hour. Whoa! Hot damn! I think I might just have to move there myself, in a New York minute!
This is the reality of what we are dealing with with Mexican immigration. In villages all across Mexico, there has been a housing boom ongoing for many years now, financed by wages from illegals working in the North. They are not starving back home at all. They are building fancy add-ons to their homes.
Many illegals are heading home and bringing their nice American bought cars and stuff with them. The truth is that up here in the US they were cleaning up bigtime. A car is hardly affordable to an average $1/hour worker in Mexico, yet many illegals around here are driving nice, often brand new cars. Instead of starving or barely surviving, illegals here live extremely well by Mexican standards, accumulating mass quantities of what would be luxuries in Mexico.
Mexicans are not starving down in Mexico. I asked one illegal Mexican Indian from Oaxaca what it was like down there. He said, “Comida si, dinero no.” Plenty of food, but no money. Ok, they are economic immigrants, and they are not even starving.
The PCI in Mexico is now around $12-15,000/yr. That is higher than in some European countries, and I never hear screams about them starving.
The problem with Mexico is a light-skinned elite that steals nearly every other nickel produced by society, leaving others with comparatively little. The revolutionary PCI party is socialist on paper only. A real socialist party, even socialist by European standards, would divide money up in Mexico such that living in Mexico was no worse than living in Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Romania, Bulgaria, Chile or Argentina.
Yes, Mexico has a PCI higher than Chile and Argentina. The only problem is distribution. No matter what you think of Mexico, it is no longer a poor country, economic-wise.

Border? What Border?

The pro-illegal immigrant crowd has crafted a very successful lie, but you can see through it pretty easily once you listen to them long and hard enough. One very successful lie of the more sophisticated crowd is that while they support mass amnesty now (Actually, the cleverer ones lie and say they do not support amnesty at all), after that, we will seal the border like glue, enforce immigration laws like hawks, and there will be no more amnesties.
If you’re an idiot, you will fall for this scam, just like the gullible fall for any scam. This was exactly the same crap they fed us back in 1986 under Reagan. That mass amnesty was a catastrophe. I have dealt with those amestied in under this outrage, and while the adults are often decent enough people, huge numbers of their children are low-life, gangbanging, moronic, dropout, lazy, lying, thieving, Ghetto-Black aping sheer human garbage.
The truth is that probably 85% of Hispanics apparently do not believe that the border between the US and Mexico has a right to exist anymore. It is essential to grasp this point, because it shows how frightening their agenda really is.
This is what the pro-illegals crowd believes, in addition to no border: Once the illegals sneak in here, no one has a right to stop them from doing whatever the Hell they want, or to arrest them for breaking the law and ship them home, or anything.
Well, Hell, if that is the case, then just tear down all the borders and get rid of all the immigration laws. Immigration laws and borders either exist or they don’t. If they state refuses to guard the border or enforce immigration law, then fuck it, tear down the borders and erase all the immigration laws.
Obviously, this is what the pro-illegal immigration crowd really wants. Either illegals are ok or they are not. There is no such thing as these 12 million in the US now are ok, but we will stop all the ones coming in in the future, and we will throw out any who sneak in successfully in the future.
It never works that way. Once they legalize the 12 million, the same crowd will scream and yell that the border patrol is still doing its job and catching border jumpers. That’s an outrageous crime right there to these folks. How dare we police our border!
Once the new illegals get in, no one will be allowed to lay one single finger on them. The first workplace raid and the same crowd will foam and snarl like rapid animals. Soon we will have millions more illegals in the land, and the screaming demand for a mass amnesty will begin around.
That’s exactly what happened last time around and that’s what will happen again and again. They have a very clever project, do they not? This is why I object to racists slamming Hispanics for being stupid. These folks are not dumb at all; Hell, they are downright brilliant. The only idiots are the non-Hispanic Americans who refuse to police the border or throw out the criminal invaders once they have infiltrated our sovereign lands.
The notion that this 12 million is a temporary fix, and then we will get back to enforcing borders and immigration laws with gusto is clearly a fiction.
The pro-amnesty crowd is a de facto Open Borders crowd. If you’re for amnesty, then you’re really for Open Borders. It’s really essential to understand this about the opposition. If you can’t grasp that, you’re missing the whole argument.

From California: What Racism?

Uncle Milton makes an excellent response in the comments to an Iranian who was bashing White males. One of the things I liked about his comments was that he said if US Whites are such vicious and evil racists, why did we just elect Obama, and why did we elect Willie Brown and Tom Bradley mayors of large cities? And why did we just elect a Black man governor of Massachusetts?
He also noted that in the US, Whites and Blacks do not in general overtly hate each other. This is an insistence of both White nationalists and Blacks. He said there may be some discomfort, but usually there is not overt hostility.
I really do tire of White-bashing myself. It gets a bit ridiculous, though I am sympathetic to the strong anti-racist stance some of these White-bashers take, and they do force me, in a White Studies kind of way, to confront my own internal racism (which is considerable), so they are healthy like good therapy.
Unc also notes that he has been all over the world, and did not find a lot of hatred directed at him for being an American. Latin America was fine, and in Asia he got a does of White privilege. Europe was ok, and he noted that in Africa, Whites are usually treated better than Blacks.
I figure he is probably right on all this stuff.
I have not traveled much, but I remember once in Tijuana we got lost late at night, and I guess we were in a ghetto, when we kept hearing these plinking stones, and we finally realized that we had been being attacked with rocks for 15-20 minutes just because we had US plates.
I take it that your Unc’s experiences are about right. I meet Thai women on the Internet all the time who are looking for White American men. Why? Well, to support them. The thing to do for a Thai woman is to get a White American guy to take care of her financially. Then he comes and visits once in a while and gets some sex or whatever.
There’s also a lot of this going on in the Philippines and a bit in Latin America. US White men have $, hence they are desired.
One thing that I really tire of from both Blacks and White nationalists is this insistence that people always hate each other on a racial basis. I assume I must be blind or something? Because, as a general rule, here in this part of the US, I simply do not see much overt discrimination, racial hostility or even coldness or rudeness.
Of course, I live in California; this place is the United Nations. WN’s assure me that all Punjabis hate all non-Indians, especially Blacks, and all Arabs hate all infidels, especially Blacks. I deal with Arab and Punjabi storekeepers all the time, and I just cannot see it. If they hate these people, they hide it extremely well.
As a White, I deal with Punjabis, Chinese, Hispanics (especially!), Arabs and Blacks all the time here, and it seems like I almost never experience any anti-White racism from any of them. But hey, maybe I am blind. Further, no one treats Hispanics and Blacks worse either.
Racism in this part of the US is much exaggerated. Many Black women, and I suspect some Hispanic women, around here are looking for White guys (Possibly even me!).
Blacks say that all Whites are viciously racist, but I don’t see it in the Whites I talk to. In fact, if I ever bring up race, the conversation gets shot down just like that, with the White person spouting PC platitudes all the way. Around here, you can’t even talk about the insane illegal alien invasion all around us with most Whites. Bring it up, and it’s usually a social faux pas, or at least the conversation gets quickly shut down in some way or another. Even in the local all-White towns!
I’m still trying to figure out how racism works in this part of the US, but it’s not as simple as any of the models. In this part of the US, overt racism in any way is seriously uncool, and most people won’t cotton to it. I do know of one overt White nationalist around here, but he’s anomalous. There’s another guy who tells nigger jokes and talks about “mud people”, but that’s sort of strange too.
I understand that WN’s wish to separate themselves, especially from Blacks.
To me, it makes more sense for them to do this to try to get away the higher rates of pathologies and very high crime rates that typically follow large Black populations, rather than to escape from amorphous “vicious Black anti-White racism. “Black racism against Whites” is mostly a WN fantasy.
Am I missing something?
I might add I’m not good at figuring out who hates me, because I’m sort of the anti-paranoid. Instead of assuming everyone hates me, I assume that no one does, even when it sort of seems like they might. I can’t bear the idea of people hating me or even disliking me, so I just say it’s not happening.
I was recently told that all of the workers in a store I frequented despised me and wished I would never come back. I had never thought they were ecstatic about me, but I neither had I ever thought that they totally despised me either. They seemed to put on their “customer service happy faces” when I came in, and it was good enough for me.
How can you even figure out if people like you or not anyway, or does it even matter?

More on California Hispanic Gang Culture

A commenter asks, in response to my comment:

It’s Norteno territory to the extent that I prominently wear my “N” tennis shoes a lot, and I just about claim Norteno myself. It’s not cool to root for the other side.
Having about zero personal experience with gang culture, is it okay to wear a gang’s apparel on their turf if you’re not a part of that gang?

Sure, of course it is, as long as you are not an idiot about it.
The thing you don’t understand is that just about everybody around here claims or represents one way or the other. People either claim Sureno or Norteno or maybe Bulldog. Even people not in gangs claim. Thing is, it is extremely difficult to figure out exactly who is really in these local ragtag kid gangs and who is not.
There are the real hardcores, and the cops know all about them. But just about everybody else that age dresses and looks like a gangster. They wear colors and gang attire, but honestly, they are not in the gang the way the hardcores are.
So just about everyone around that age is going to wear the colors and attire of that hood, even though most of them aren’t really in the gang at all. It’s like people in Boston wear Red Sox clothes. The gang is like the home team. I guess the others are called gang associates or something. It gets way hard to characterize.
However, with me, no one cares, because I’m a 51 year old White guy. I can wear red, or an N on my shoes, or even flash 14 with my fingers and it’s just a great big stupid joke. I’m not in the gang; everyone knows that. If I go to a Sureno hood, people might see the N shoes and red shirt and I’m a middle aged White guy, so they know I’m not Norteno.
But if I flash 14 gang sign at them, wow, that’s weird. What’s this older White guy doing flashing enemy gang signs at us? It’s not really a joke, but they wouldn’t know what to make of it either. It’s sort of criminal stupidity. They might just want to kick your ass so you don’t do anything so stupid again.
Also, I can probably drive through full-on gang territory at 3 AM even with gang guys hanging out on their front porches and probably nothing would happen. If I was younger and Hispanic, they might want to know what I was doing there. But I’m a middle aged White guy, so they figure I’m irrelevant to the conflict.
These guys are a lot smarter than you think. They aren’t idiots at all.
You can joke around with these guys a lot and even threaten them if you know what you’re doing. I have threatened to kill a couple of them and nothing happened. You just charge at them with a really psycho but controlled look in your eyes and threaten to kill them unless they shut up. Don’t act angry or crazy. Just act like a totally cool, controlled, cold-blooded gangbanger bastard just like they are.
I flip them off all the time and make obscene gestures at them, but it’s all a big joke and we are all on good terms. The main thing is to get them to respect you. If that takes getting in their face and threatening to murder them unless they shut up, they kind of respect that. That shows you’re not a pussy and you will stand up for yourself and fight. This is an extremely macho culture and they respect macho badass guys.
One thing I cannot do is make fun of Nortenos. I used to call them “Busters” as a joke or when I was wearing a blue shirt, point to it and joke with them. “Busters” is what Surenos call Nortenos as an insult. Ok, that’s just not cool at all. They got really mad a few times when I did that and seriously acted like they were going to kick my ass.
I thought for a bit and figured out that this is simply not acceptable. You can’t even joke about it. It’s just off-limits. These guys have very strict rules about what you can and can’t do.
As I said, it’s impossible to know who’s in the gangs. One night we were joking around and someone pointed to my shoes and said I must claim Norteno. I said sure I do and everyone started laughing because it’s absurd. Then this one guy pulls up his shirt and there’s a t-shirt with “Nuestra Familia” on it. That’s a pretty hardcore Norteno symbol.
He says, “Hey Bob! What do you say? Let’s go get down. Let’s go get a shotgun and kill some Scraps (insult Norteno name for Surenos). Let’s go!” I guess he was serious. He always seemed like a cool guy too, and I had no idea he was associated with a gang. It sounded kind of exciting, and Sureno gangbangers definitely deserve to get killed, but I’m not into capital felonies.

More on the Black Man-White Women So-Called Rape Epidemic

Black male criminals do not preferentially target White females for rape. If anything, they massively deselect them. And they massively overselect Black females. Black females are 4.5 times more likely to be selected by Black rapists than White females are.
However, White females are 5X greater in the population, so we would expect Black criminals to select White females at 5 X the rate of Black females, and to select Black females at 20% the rate of White victims. Instead, the figures are reversed. Black rapists select black females at 22.5 X their rate in the population and select White females at only 4.5% of their rate in the population.
Truth is, instead of hunting for Whites, as Robert Gordon of John Hopkins (Le Griffe Du Lion) dishonestly suggests, there is massive deselection of White females by Black rapists and massive overselection of Black females.
Black women bear the wrath of Black rapists at about 20-25 X the rate that White women do.
White women get off easy!
Further, as Tim Wise points out, 5-7 times more White women are raped by White men than are raped by Black men. White rapists truly select for White women and massively deselect for Black women. A White woman is about 6 X more likely to be raped by a White man than by a Black man.
The notion that Whites must separate themselves from Blacks in order to avoid the depredations of Blacks is wrong.
It is Black women who bear the brunt of the devastating rape epidemic committed by younger Black males.
If Whites were to separate themselves from Blacks as White nationalists want to do, the entire brunt of the rape wrath of young Black males would be directed against Black females; furthermore, Blacks would experience the entire nightmare of Black crime directed solely against their own.
This is a massive human rights violation for Black females and for all Black crime victims.

Right Means Strong, Left Means Weak

Right? In most languages of the world, sure. However, in Timucua, this is not the case.

‘Most of us are aware that the Romans associated the right hand with skill, dexterity, and luck, calling it manu dextra, and that its opposite, the left hand, was associated with evil and misfortune, manu sinistra.
It is therefore, something of a shock to find that the now extinct Timucua language of Northern Florida and Southern Georgia used the word eba ‘strong, healthy, lucky, fortunate’ for ‘left hand’ and fara ‘dislike, ruin(noun or verb), weak, sickly, scoundrel, misfortune’ for ‘right hand’ a mirror-image of standard Indo-European usage,
The primary meaning of Timucua eba is ‘paddle, oar’ and its semantic extension to ‘strong’ in a society oriented toward water and riverine travel, when a good rowing arm was all-important, does not require a great stretch of the imagination. Its extension to mean ‘left hand’, however, is indeed unusual.
When that semantic peculiarity is accompanied by extension of the meaning of fara ‘dislike, weak, unfortunate’ to ‘right hand’ then one really sets up and takes notice.
The Timucua language was a highly creolized trader’s idiom of ultimate west-central Amazonian origin, there is no precedent for this peculiar hand-naming system in the Arawakan, Panoan, Tacanan, Tucanoan, Chibchan, Paezan, Cariban or other language groups of that homeland region.
Neither is there precedent in the Muskogean, Siouan, Iroquoian, Algonquian, or Gulf languages (Tunica, Atakapa, Chitimacha, Natchez, and probably, in view of this writer, Yuchi and Yamasee/Yamacraw) of the southeastern United States, with which the Timucua were in intimate contact from their likely being introducers of ceramic-making techniques to the Georgia coast approximately 2000 B.C.E…..
Neither origin nor genetic connection for the strange semantic anomaly can be found in either North or South America. (Granberry 1996).

First of all, I find it fascinating that US Amerindians had developed ceramics as early as 4000 YBP (Years Before Present). That’s a pretty serious advance for a culture.
It’s also notable that the Timucua actually came from Venezuela. Likewise, we might wonder where the Caribbean Indians (now mostly extinct or blended into Caribbean stock) came from.
Although the Cuban Taino Indians are said to be extinct, there seem to be some descendants left on the east coast near Baracoa. Puerto Ricans may have 17-33% Indian genes on average. Caribbean Indians were largely decimated by the initial Spanish invasions of the islands. Most of them died, so Black slaves had to be imported. In this article, we discover that all of the Indians of the Caribbean probably came from Venezuela (Lalueza-Fox   2003).
Let us look at the mystery a bit further.
How could the Timucua have developed the strange notion that the left was strong and the right was weak?
One possibility is the crayfish. A crawfish often has one strong pincher and one weak pincher, and a subspecies was a stable of the diet of the Yue Timucua of Lake Okefenokee. However, most pictures I have seen of crayfish show it as having the long pincher on the right side, not the left. If there is a crayfish subspecies in Lake Okefenokee that has one long left pincher and one short right pincher, then this makes a lot more sense.
To go really far afield, nearly into the realms of sci-fi, let us look at a strange creature, the opossum. It is not true that the opossum is not native to the Americas; in fact, a prehistoric, double-pouched opossum-like marsupial (actually a lion)* existed in South America very long ago. A similar creature existed in Australia 15,000 million years ago.
What is strange about this animal is that it was saber-toothed and had a huge protruding tooth from the left side of its jaw. Hence, it’s strength was on the left and it’s weakness was on the right. It went extinct 15,000 million years ago.
The one in South Australia is the oldest marsupial lion known. A similar creature is known from Australia as Wakaleo vanderleuri. The find is from Bullock Creek, Lake Pitikanta. (Archer et al 1987).

Wakaleo vanderleuri, a Marsupial Lion from Australia 15 million years ago. Note protruding left tooth.

Presumably, this double-uterus marsupial went extinct because having two uteruses is not adaptive. A female with two uteruses would be too weighted down and might either be easy prey or might not be able to gather enough food if she was carrying so many babies.
Since the Timucua came from Asia long ago, is it possible that their Asian or Australoid ancestors found a skeleton of it and hence adopted the left = strong, right = weak notion?
Let’s look at one more strange piece of possible evidence. The Japanese word deppu/beppu, ‘protruding, jutting out’, resembles the Timucua word for left, eba. The Japanese are related to the Ainu, who are an Australoid people with links to Australia.
Suppose an Aborigine saw a skeleton of one of these saber-toothed lion possums  and coined the word that eventually became deppu/beppu in Japanese, due to the protruding tooth on the left?
Suppose the same proto-ancestors of the Japanese and the Amerinds then went to the Americas, carried the word left=strong, right=weak with them, and the word eventually ended up in Timucua.
Making this story even stranger are possible links between the ancient shell mound and pottery cultures of Georgia 4,000 years ago and similar cultures of the Pacific Rim. Japan is of course on the Pacific Rim. Recall again that Kennowick Man, a 9,000 year old Amerindian found in Washington State, resembles the Ainu and Polynesians (Pacific Rim) more than anything else.
Just throwing some really crazy ideas out there. We’re kind of getting into Twilight Zone territory here.
A Marsupial Lion. No way can this be real.

*A double-uterine, saber-tooth marsupial lion from the Etadunna Formation South Australia, had one large saber tooth projecting from the center of its lower jaw
