What is the Future of the Alt-Right/ Dark Enlightenment?

At this point, it can only grow. No one in the movement is going to leave, and obviously quite a few are going to join. All of the people appalled by them were never going to sign up anyway. They have a lot of publicity now and they will only get bigger in the future. A couple of other comments follow.

The question seems to be worded as though those things were synonyms. They are not. The Dark Enlightenment (DE) is a scientific critique on the fundamental premises of The (so-called) Enlightenment: specifically that human liberty and equality are unalloyed goods. Since it is obvious that human (racial, sexual, religious and ethnic) equality is patently false, and that liberty is not an unalloyed good (e.g., offering fertile opportunities for the rapacious to profiteer off the poor impulse control or future time orientation of others), the DE is not going to go away. While politically inconvenient truths about matters may be suppressed for a time (cf. heliocentrism), it is expensive and indeed a sign of collapsing legitimacy.
The “Alt-Right” has really come to mean the non-mainstream Dissident Right. It is a loose, often tumultuous, alliance of a wide variety of anti-progressive particularists—including paleoconservatives, paleolibertarians, neoreactionaries, anarcho-capitalists, separatists, southern nationalists, white nationalists, ethnic nationalists, identitarians, and even a few national socialists. It has no essential nature, therefore, to conform to, no central control, and cannot act in a coherent manner.
Various arms of the Dissident Right have their own plans to create institutions, and propagate their ideas in various ways. Some seek power within the existing political structure. Others see themselves primarily as Samizdat organizers.
If the progressive neoliberal establishment continues to collapse both the psycho-social and economic health of Western nations, dissident movements of all sorts may be expected to continue to attract followers, financial backing, and a modicum of power.

An excellent overview of the Dark Enlightenment, although I suspect he is whitewashing it. From what I know about the Dark Enlightenment as envisioned by Mencius Moldbug and Nick Land, British “accelerationist” British philosopher, it is not something I want anything to do with. In fact, it seems like my and hopefully most of your worst nightmare. I would say that if the Alt Left is about anything, it is about Enlightenment values, so this would right away put us at odds for opposing the Dark Enlightenment.

Dim obscurity. While a few events recently have brought them to the front, their ideology is toxic to the majority of people, and that will lead to them back to the fringe. There’s no real future, especially as more and more people learn that “alt-right” is largely a synonym for white supremacists and neo-Nazis. The new branding will not change the outcome.
I expect they’ll remain a nuisance online. But any sort of intellectual or cultural influence? Extremely unlikely.

This fellow seems to feel that the Alt Right will become a collapsing star and black hole of hatred and nihilism after burning so bright after a brief flash in the spotlight and the camera clicks. I am not so sure about that. How many Alt Righters will say, “Whoa, this movement is neo-Nazi! I never knew that. I’m out of here!” About zero. Everyone involved in this movement knows exactly what it is all about and none of them are taking off. I assume that there are quite a few newbies out there who would love to sign up. They ain’t going away anytime soon I am afraid.

Dota and Bay Area Guy are former commenters at Robert Lindsay who went off to form their own site. May we spawn many more such Lindsaybabies! Many more! Forever more! I always liked Dota, even if he is more conservative than I am. You can’t expect everyone to be your political clone. Then you won’t have any friends. I don’t even know what national capitalism is. But if that’s what the Chinese are up to, I do not mind it at all actually.

I don’t really mind Paleocons. I will take a dozen Paleocons over one leftwing PC SJW. I am somewhat embarassed that American Conservative resonates with me. Nevertheless, I am not really a conservative in any way, shape or form. Even social conservatism doesn’t resonate with me in any way, shape or form. Nor am I much on the Left anymore. Nor am I a mushy Centrist invertebrate. What am I? Alternative Left maybe?

Democratic Party Liberals Strongly Support Nazis, Paleocons Oppose Nazis

HP has been supporting the Ukrainian Nazis 100% since the start of this conflict. They have been completely behind the Russian and Novorussian antifas. All HP articles are strongly pro-Nazi and anti-antifa. In recent days, the liberal scum have even come out strongly against the Russian aid convoy to Novorussia (or any aid convoy for that matter). The false charge is that the aid convoy has weapons hidden in it. However, it has already been inspected by both the Ukies (Nazis) and the Red Cross. Both confirmed that there are no weapons hidden in the cargo. Nevertheless the vile Western press continues to repeat the Nazi lie that somehow there are weapons in the cargo that have somehow missed inspection by two different bodies, including the Ukrainian government itself.
I conducted a brief survey of commenters to HP. 84% of US Democratic Party liberals support the Nazis and oppose the antifas, according to my survey. This shows that Democratic Party liberals are some of the strongest Nazi supporters in the US today.
I happpened to go to Ron Unz’ site the other day. There are many anti-Nazi, pro-antifa pieces on there. Unz himself, who is Jewish, commendably takes a strong anti-Nazi, pro-antifa stance. In a similar survey, I found that 69% of Unz’ paleoconservative commenters were anti-Nazi and pro-antifa. This makes paleocons among the strongest anti-Nazis and pro-antifa supporters in the US today, at least as measured by the the Ukraine-Russian conflict.
This is truly bizarre. In the US:
Democratic Party liberals are some of the strongest pro-Nazi forces in the country. They also violently oppose antifa forces and wish to see them destroyed.
Paleocons are some of the strongest pro-antifa and anti-Nazi forces in the US today.
This also shows me that there is nothing more useless than Democratic Party liberals. When they are not being useless, they are being actively evil. I cannot see why any progressive person would line up with these backwards people. I do not even understand why progressive people would ally with this objectively pro-imperialist force. It’s beyond me.
This also shows that Paleocons, bizarrely enough, are now among America’s strongest anti-Nazi and pro-antifa forces. This is so odd because the standard MSM line about paleocons is that they are fascists and Nazis. Not in this conflict they are not! I am starting to think that truly progressive people might make some excellent alliances among these paleocons. Obviously we disagree on some things, but that is always the case with alliances.
The Left has become the Right and the Right has become the Left! Weird!
These labels are starting to mean less and less every day now.

How 30 Years of Free Trade and Classical Economics Ruined the US Economy

I never thought I would be quoting these paleocons, but you know what? They’re actually right! Our elites have sold us a bill of goods and ruined our economy in the process. And the mindset of these elites remains that of the entire Republican Party, the entire US corporate media and much, if not most of the Democratic Party. It’s a failed elitist ideology that only benefits the rich and some corporations and hurts the US nation as a whole. But neoliberals have alliance to no real geographical land, only the evanescent Land of Profit. They will sell out the homeland in a New York minute if the price is right.
To some extent, this is true of capitalists in general. As Marx said, the capitalist will sell you the very rope you will use to hang him with, if only to make a quick buck before he dies.
There is something to be said for national capitalists and national capitalism. It’s a German idea with some heavy baggage, but even a broken clock is right a couple times a day.

I have very mixed feelings about this guy, but sometimes he’s just right, or at least part-right. This is one of those times. Check it out. I don’t care if he’s a self-hating White. Big deal. What matters is the message, not the man.

Tulio wrote an “Imagine” piece in the comments a while back that was similar to this column. It was a tour de force, so great I was sure he copied it, but apparently he made it up. These thought experiments can be very useful because they illuminate personal and political issues in allegorical way that sometimes hits home in the solar plexus.

Liberal Race Realism Starting to Grow

I could not be more happy. This is a movement after all, that I am trying to birth myself. Hell, I may have even founded it.
It’s amazing that more people haven’t come around to it, but the PC Police are very threatening, at least here in California. Voicing the tiniest bit of racial heresy can have consequences such as being threatened with being thrown out businesses, threats and menacing looks from Hispanics, being openly shouted down in public by Hispanics and Blacks, loss of employment, loss of friends, and being labeled as a public pariah.
As far as being threatened with being thrown out of businesses, this has happened to me twice, both times on the most bizarre and ludicrous grounds.
On one occasion, I was accused of “distributing White Supremacist propaganda,” for showing folks a printed out post from this website. On another occasion, once again showing someone a printed out post from this site, I created a strange uproar and was politely told to never utter the word “race” in the place ever again. Such a dirty word!
In both cases, the posts were grotesquely misunderstood because the people reading them were too stupid to figure out what I was trying to say.
I’ve been told by my friends to never mention anything about this site to anyone around here, ever, other than to close friends. Likewise with printed out posts from the site. The reason given is that most people around here, including the Whites, are too stupid to understand this website, hence they will misunderstand it and get all sorts of weird ideas about it and me.
I’ve been stared down, threatened, menaced and spit at by Hispanics for daring to suggest that illegal aliens should take off. I’ve been told to “tone it down” by frightened Whites when discussing the illegal alien problem. Talking shit about illegals is downright dangerous in this town, seeing as they and their Frankenstein anchor baby offspring are probably about 1/2 the population.
I’ve been told that most of the Hispanics around my apartment complex regard as some sort of a virulent White Supremacist neo-Nazi skinhead type. I’m not really sure why they think this way, but that’s how these morons judge you if you’re not 100% in favor of America-suicide Political Correctness. In their own way, these Hispanics as bad as the worst Jews.
Given all this PC thuggery, it’s no wonder that White liberals are still drinking the PC Koolaid. Nevertheless, there does appear to be some hope. Check this out: Scroll down to “By elitist on 1/17/09 at 12:33 pm.”

DESPERATELY NEEDED are fora/support groups for progressives/moderates who are waking up to the reality of racial difference, but are not in the least attracted to white supremacy, antisemitism, climate change denial, hatred of Modern Art etc., guns, Neanderthal “barefoot and pregnant” anti-feminism, homophobia, medieval religiosity, etc.
Who do sincerely wish blacks, mulattoes and members of all races well, but who want an end to mass immigration, quotas, race blackmail, and speech censorship.
Speaking as a lifelong (and still) liberal, I maintain that it is wrong for progressives to cede a monopoly on the science of race to genuine racists and to work to maintain a firewall between science and public domain, all the while isolating themselves from the black community because they are frightened and intimidated, frankly, by the aggression and unthinking, superstitious mentality of most blacks, and by their astoundingly crude and bizarre ideological prejudices, and most of all by their open hostility toward whites and their boundless sense of entitlement.
We need an enlightened discourse on race that is free of all the above baggage, and that denigrates no one group but is based on a healthy dose of realism and skepticism, and on a robust pride in the achievements of European civilization.
Given the very real dangers to the livelihoods and social statuses of individuals who explore these “dangerous ideas,” we need a “RACE REALISTS ANONYMOUS,” a safe space for people to discuss their fears openly and without risk of exposure.
Whites are totally exhausted with being blamed for the seemingly intractable problems of the Black community in the US and elsewhere, and given the widening pathologies of that community, are tired of pretending to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
Race difference is indeed the great taboo in our culture, but under the sheer weight of reality, it is starting to break down.
Impossible and oxymoronic as it sounds, liberal race realists need to develop a coherent progressive discourse about racial difference – and fast!!
This does not mean “making racism respectable,” it means giving the majority of whites a coherent position that is both realistic and respectful of all races.

What’s fascinating is that I have just now started to see some more folks refer to themselves as “liberal race realists.” It’s like a whole new movement coming out of the woodwork.
And indeed, the pro-White movement reeks of White Supremacism, anti-Semitism, anti-feminism, gun nuttery, homophobia, lunatic anti-environmentalism to the point of Climate Change Denial and hatred of Modern Art, Modern Music, Modern Literature, Modern Culture and indeed Modernity itself. To this I would add hatred for any kind of Left economics.
The whole movement is just reactionary to the core. It ranges from Paleocons to Neocons like Guy White to Libertarians like the “cognitive elite” HBD bloggers like One STDV and Half Sigma. Liberals just want to throw up their arms and run away screaming.
More importantly, we leftwing idiots, as the author points out, have effectively ceded this entire issue to the Right. We have no position on race realism, other than liberal thuggery, contempt for and demands for censorship of science (!!), threats, career destruction, and just shouting, “No! No! No!”
It’s true that race realism, due to the nature of its facts, tends to feed automatically into conservatism, not to mention reactionary views and out and out fascism. But it need not be this way. If race realism, is, after all, simply the truth, then liberals out to be able to fashion some sort of liberal discourse out of this difficult position. Why not? We can come up with a liberal position on just about anything, why not race?
For starters, as the author points out, a position statement could be opposition to:
Mass immigration
Quotas
Race blackmail
Speech censorship
I’m actually somewhat agnostic on affirmative action, but it sure has lots of problems. The public seems to be against it, and initiatives all over the US are killing it off anyway. It’s sort of a non-issue that seems to be taking care of itself.
Race blackmail is something that gets little discussion. I’m not sure what exactly he’s referring to here, but I don’t like the sound of it. I think I’m against it too. Is it something like, “Don’t you dare deport those illegals, or we will riot and burn down L.A. again?”
Speech censorship should be the last thing that true liberals are doing, but here we are, wielding the black pen, deleting, shutting down, burying and gagging speech everywhere in sight. Why? We don’t want the truth getting out! How cowardly can you get?
Anyway, it’s nice to see that this movement is finally getting some legs. I thought I was alone for a while.
