Alt Left: Any Evidence That That Balloon Was Really a Spy Balloon?

Why use balloons for spying?

  • Anyone can see them, and that violates a principle of espionage.
  • They’re not really controllable so they just float wherever they want to. Sounds great for the weather, but for spying. A spy formation that you have no control over and goes wherever the Hell it wants regardless of the espionage value of the area?
  • Anything a balloon can do, a satellite can does do a lot better.

Does anyone even use the stupid balloons for spying? It sounds like a dumb idea.
