I always thought that the idea that Russia was fighting against Globohomo was a stupid rightwing meme.
Rightwingers are wrong about so many things because of their ideological blinders, that I figured they were wrong about this too. Rightwingers don’t think for themselves, but then Lefties probably don’t either.
They both just go down the line and check all the leftwing or rightwing boxes on every single issue, without differing on one thing. Partisan thinking has wrecked political thinking in the US, and almost no one makes sense anymore because everyone has to line up with these fake Left and Right categories and go down the line and check every box. If you check 99 boxes and don’t check one, you’re working for the other side! Somehow the one box you don’t check cancels out the 99 you did!
If you are rightwing, you have support insane beliefs like
- anti-global warming
- anti-green agenda
- anti-abortion
- the need to cut the federal debt and deficit
- the stolen election of 2020
- Trump as infallible savoir
- opposition to COVID vaccination (a literally lethal belief) and the notion the the vaccines cause more damage than the disease
- the “nothing is there” fuss about Biden’s laptop
- dismantling the state in favor of radical neoliberalism
- Social Security and Medicare “going bankrupt, hence in need of elimination
- and last but not least:
- bizarre beliefs about globalism, eating bugs, owning nothing, the great reset, Charles Schwab, George Soros, and the WEC in Geneva
About the latter, other than the fact that this is an organization and gathering of the corporations and 1% (especially billionaires) of the world, there is nothing surprising or subversive about Geneva or the WEC. They’re capitalist scum, rich capitalist scum at that, and they want the same thing that ultra-rich capitalists have always wanted at all places and at all times.
But no. Somehow the rightwing billionaires like Trump are the good guys, and the “leftwing” (although there aren’t any) billionaires like Schwab and Soros are stone evil.
Truth is they’re all billionaires and all billionaires are scum because they follow the dictates of their class, which is everywhere and at all times opposed to the interests the 99% of the population who’s not a millionaire.
This stuff isn’t complicated.
All you need is a background in Marx and Marxism, and all this stuff becomes as clear as air. US Rightwing politics makes no sense because it’s not grounded in reality, so its entire worldview is fake and wrong. You elide basic economic and you erase everything. Political economics is no more complex now than it was in 1850. The basic laws of political economy are the same and are probably permanent. Marxism as an alternate solution hasn’t worked well, but there has never been a greater tool than Marxism for explaining capitalism, especially its downside.
Then there is the zealous opposition of the fanatical Left to what they perceive is the rise of a Neo-Tsarist Christian populism and neo-fascism (anti-LGBTQ, etc.) in Moscow. In a moment of candor Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-Maryland) summarized (October 25, 2022) the official (if unspoken) American and globalist stance on the conflict and the real issues involved:
“Moscow right now is a hub of corrupt tyranny, censorship, authoritarian repression, police violence, propaganda, government lies and disinformation, and planning for war crimes. It is a world center of antifeminist, antigay, anti-trans hatred, as well as the homeland of replacement theory for export. In supporting Ukraine, we are opposing these fascist views, and supporting the urgent principles of democratic pluralism.”
First of all, the first sentence describes Ukraine much better than it describes Russia. Raskin, like all shitlibs, is projecting here.
The notion that Raskin is “left” in any way, shape, or form is insane. He’s just another worthless shitlib, rightwing on everything except Cultural Left depravity and dysfunction.
But is there really a “universalist, globalism, New World Order that wants a ‘global rest?'” I doubt it, and if there is, it’s surely not “Left.” It’s just a lame section of the ruling class that’s pushing Cultural Left dysfunction and degeneracy. Are NATO, the US, the EU, and the World Economic Forum really pushing such a weird “globalist” project? Somehow I doubt it.
There are social conservatives and reactionaries the world over, and many of them are allies of the West. Look at the Arabs, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Stans, Africa, Latin America. Most of these places are pretty damn backwards on social issues, but the Western capitalists couldn’t give two shits about that. As long as you let them make their cash, it’s see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. Billionaires don’t really give a damn about this cultural crap. All billionaires care about is money.
But are Raskin’s complaints what is animating the frenzied, nearly insane love of Nazi Ukraine among US shitlibs or liberal Democrats along with a section of the Western Hard Left in the US?
Maybe.
And in that sense, yes, in the war against the depraved dysfunctional, perverse, and irrational dystopia that is Globhomo, indeed, one man is fighting back.
And his name is Vladimir Putin.
There’s also the bullshit about “Russia is the enemy of the Democratic Party because it elected Trump.” That’s never been proven and it’s almost certainly not true. Russia didn’t support Trump because he’s a reactionary ass. They supported him because he was a bit more friendly to them. And Hitlery nearly declared her desire to wipe Russia off the map. Of course they supported Trump! But not because he was rightwing!
Russia doesn’t care if you’re right or left. That’s your business. And Russia supports many Left countries the world over. Russia’s calculus is simple: they support their friends and oppose their enemies. Is it so hard to figure out?
