Watched Lost Highway the other night on the Net. David Lynch again from 1997. I really liked this movie. Extremely weird but also very, very good. It was actually better than Wild At Heart, not that Wild at Heart was bad. Critics hated it when it first came out, but like many such movies, it’s become a cult film. Anything that’s become a cult film is usually pretty good. There’s a reason it became a cult film, and it’s not because it sucked. Basically Film Noir or Neo-Noir if you will, with all of the usual themes of the genre. Echoes of Detour, Kiss Me Deadly, and Vertigo, classic noir films of the 40’s and 50’s.
