What Language Is This?

Have fun with this one. If you’re smart, you should be able to spot at least the language family here. This language is related to a language that is quite well known. We could even say that it is a European language. There may be up to 53 languages in this family, of which the European language above is the largest. What once you get the family, which language is it? This is the language of a nation-state, I’ll give you that.

This language has massively expanded recently and there are now all sorts of materials being produced into it, even including university textbooks. I believe that in this country, you can earn your university degree in this language. The schooling is of course done in this language, but another major language of a different family is also popular which was formerly an official language in this land. This language is a sort of lingua franca  for many of the surrounding countries.

Shuni ham hisobga olish kerakki, oxirgi bir yil ichida Markaziy Osiyo davlatlari o‘rtasidagi xalqaro munosabatlarda yangi bosqich boshlandi. Oxirgi 25 yil davomida adovat ruhida aytilgan ko‘p gap- larga chek qo‘yila boshlandi, millatlararo totuvlik, ahil qo‘shnichilik munosabatlari tobora avj olib bormoqda. Bu esa xalqlarimizning er- tangi kunga ishonchini va integrasion jarayonlarning ijobiy natija- larga olib kelishiga umidini yanada oshirmoqda.

Shunday bo‘lsada, qabul qilingan milliy koncepsiyalarni va ular asosida yozilgan kitob va maqolalarni, internet saytlarini hali hech kim bekor qilgani va olib tashlagani yo‘q. Shuning uchun talabalar bu koncepsiyalar haqida ob’ektiv ma’lumotga ega bo‘lishlari zarur.

Mazkur fanningmaqsadi “Markaziy Osiyo xalqlari tarixi” kafed- rasi magistrantlariga bugungi kunda Markaziy Osiyo tarixi tarixshu- nosligida mavjud bo‘lgan dolzarb muammolar haqida umumiy tu- shuncha va tasavvurlar berishdan iborat. Shuningdek, qo‘llanmada ko‘rib chiqiladigan masalalarning ilmiy-nazariy va amaliy-usuliy asoslari haqida ham batafsil ma’lumotlar beriladi.

Ushbu fan dasturida magistrantlar tarixchi mutaxassis uchun zarur bo‘lgan darajada Markaziy Osiyo mintaqasi tarixi tarixshunosligining nazariy muammolari bo‘yicha yangi tarixiy voqelikdan kelib chiqqan holda hozirgi kunda mavjud bo‘lgan yangicha ilmiy qarashlar va yonda- shuvlar bilan tanishtiriladi, shuningdek, turli ilmiy qarashlar ichida milliy g‘oya manfaatlariga xizmat qiluvchi ilmiy qarashlardan ilmiy tadqiqotlarda asos sifatida foydalanishga o‘rgatiladi.

Fanning asosiy vazifalari

quyidagilardan iborat: – talabalarni hozirgi davrda Markaziy Osiyo mintaqasidagi mus- taqil davlatlar dagi tarixchi olimlarning bir yoqlama yondashuvlari va ularning salbiy jihatlari bilan tanishtirish; – talabalarga Respublikasining milliy g‘oya mafku- rasining asosiy tamoyillari va uning boshqa mafkuralarga nisbatan haqqoniy asosga ega ekanligini ko‘rsatish

  1. Some sort of Turkic language. The former language being USSR-era Russian. Is this language from one of the Istans?

“The schooling is of course done in this language, but another major language of a different family is also popular which was formerly an official language in this land.”

    1. Apologies or hijacking yet again. Clavdivs- Did you get my email? I sent one the day you sent me a Hi and then sent one just to see you received it.

    2. The other language is Russian, correct. And it is a language of the Stans, correct. And Turks can’t understand that text either. At all.

      Your move.

  2. “This language is a sort of lingua franca for many of the surrounding countries.”

This is a very big hint now that I think of it. I could have guessed the specific language with this. I find this surprising that a very agglutinating language is used as a lingua franca rather than nearby Persian. I’m assuming Turkic morphology is a pain to learn.

    1. No obviously the lingua franca for surrounding nations would be Russian. There are no Turkic lingua francas. Turkish is spoken also in South Azerbaijan and in Northern Syria and Iraq, but those are just dialects of the Turkish language.

Of course, this is a Turkic language from the Stans. It’s also fairly well developed compared to other Turkic Stan languages. It’s probably one of the most developed of them all. A few of those languages recently became official languages of nations, yet they lack a lot of technical vocabulary that they are racing to create. Another neighboring language has a lot of issues, mostly that a lot of members of the ethnic group don’t really speak it much and prefer to speak Russian instead. This is helped by the large number of Russians still present in the country

This language is actually split in two. There are two large halves of the language, one to the north and another full of Persian loans to the south. Only one of them is an official language.

  3. This is surely a Turkic language. Definitely from central-northern Turkistan and not an Oguz offshoot. Otherwise I would be able to recognize it. Personally, I would opt for Uzbek, since it contains a good many of Farsi-origin words (Kipchak would be harsher in prıonounciation with much less foreign influence apart from Russian that they adopted a lot of terms, especially in Soviet era during which Kazakh and Kirgiz got truly sedentarized). Anyway, the hints you gave support this assumption.

    1. What is Turkestan? The entire Turkic-speaking area?

Yes, it is Uzbek. Turkish speakers say they can’t make sense of it when it is written. Is that the case for you?
