Johnny Lawrence and Other Stereotypical Characters

Johnny Lawrence aka William Zakba was in The Karate Kid and Back to School always portraying the same character – this elitist bully.

He plays characters so despicable only Fox News could whitewash them – lol.

Are some people are always put into stereotypical roles? It might not be a problem because after all, those roles do pay. Actors acting out of character often doesn’t work, but some actors are good at two separate types of cinema – like Robin Williams being good at both drama and comedy. I liked his drama better because his comedy is too weird, but that sentiment isn’t shared by the millions who made him rich!

  1. You clearly haven’t been following Cobra Kai, the online TV series. Johnny Lawrence is now our anti-hero, a misunderstood average guy. Daniel LaRusso is the asshole as their rivalry stretches past three decades. He is also a wealthy, pretentious snob who orders iced cold martinis with exactly two olives whereas Johnny sticks with plain Coors Banquet.

Johnny is our working class hero who only wants to be left alone to run an honest business. Daniel is the smarmy, condescending capitalist scum who just can’t mind his own business. True to his Jersey douchebag origins, he has a bag full of dirty tricks to get his rivals any way he can.

There is no lower limit to which Daniel wouldn’t stoop. He tries unsuccessfully to get Johnny’s dojo banned. He also connives with Johnny’s landlord to double his rent; even tries to steal his estranged son by being a faux mentor. Throws out his protege over a silly misunderstanding about his daughter.

Johnny is the reasonable one now. Turns out Daniel LaRusso was always the dick. Even his daughter Samantha, and son, Antonio, take after their father. Both act spoiled and entitled. Like her father, Samantha can’t seem to mind her own business, and she must get her ex-boyfriend back through deception. Not because she loves him but because it would satisfy her ego.

I think Daniel never loved Ali. He just used her to get back at the Cobra Kai gang who he was envious of. He detested their motorcycles and fast cars, and blonde hairdos. In every Karate Kid movie, he has a new girlfriend. Not only Ali but every other girl in the Karate Kid series has seen through his douchebag nature.

I believe that back in ’84, the Cobra Kai gang went too easy on Little Daniel. They should have included a few more scenes of him being clobbered by them. Bitch would have deserved it.

I REALLY LOVED THAT SCENE WHERE THE COBRAS PUSH LI’L DANIEL OFF A CLIFF WITH HIS BIKE

    1. The bottom line, though – is that Daniel is picked on for his looks – and that’s what eats me up. Nothing I can’t stand more is a bunch of motherfuckers grinning – wanting to start shit – with lanky boys.

Well, there’s always more to a story than what meets the eye. It’s kind of like these WN idiots complaining about blacks – when probably they, the WNs – deserved being bullied by blacks. But you will hear of course – sobbing story after story about “white victims”.
