I can’t stand male vocal jazz. Females seem to be better at it. I mean, Sinatra’s stuff – or anything like it – is so dorky! They could use that stuff to torture prisoners effectively!
Some songs like “Mr. Sandman – give me a dream” – as gay as they sound – were quite good, and the female vocals always help, of course.
Is it any wonder rock and roll took over in the ’50s environment with male vocal jazz on the scene?
So much Christmas music is vocal jazz.
