In fact, it’s the major complaint of non-Americans. Well, some say the non-Americans are just haters, jealous, or Communists lol. But seriously, the US does interfere in their elections (and other internal policies) saying, “You will do what we want or else.”
Nixon was impeached for Watergate. Was he impeached for overthrowing the left-wing government in Chile? Clinton was impeached for sex. Was he impeached for putting Haitian farmers out of business?

Jason, he was impeached for the Ukraine business and it is not as you describe. He violated campaign laws. He threatened to withhold aid unless Ukraine investigated the son of his political opponent. And no, that is not done all the time. It’s completely outrageous and he absolutely deserved to be impeached over that.
I fail to understand a major implication of this impeachment. Now that it’s all over, what are the chances Trump will get a reprieve in the Republican dominated senate? I think it’s pretty high. Then what’s the point of this whole impeachment exercise from a Democrat perspective? Why waste so much time and energy if you know he is going to get a slap in the wrist eventually?
Indeed, during his impeachment, Bill Clinton was rescued by a Democrat-led senate. But it was his second term anyway.
Trump will spin a reprieve by the US senate as some kind of moral victory and call the Democrats “losers”. That might turn into ammunition for him when he’s in the race for a second term.
I don’t have a great understanding of US impeachment laws, so some insights would be helpful.
