  2. There you go. Most of them are guaranteed to be US allies. America loves to ally with monstrous countries.

  1. The US values stability. Mubarak’s Egypt and Saddam’s Iraq (Iraq was once a US ally.) were incredibly stable. Stability is good for business, instability is not.

    Often when defending such a policy the US might bring up “The less of two evils” thing. In other words, a fascist government in El Salvador might be Nazi wackos, but a Castro government would be 1000 times worse (at least for US business interests and the middle and upper classes). Of course, some left wing governments, like Cambodia, were pretty much psycho to all classes of people.

      Which is why we overthrew them. Yep.

      The U.S. hates stability and loves chaos. That explains everything.
