What Is More Important for Gun Control – Rifles or Pistols?

Steve writes:

Oh, well we don’t have longarms in the UK to protect our homes. Maybe farmers and a few hunters but not the vast majority of people. I think you need a license, and they wouldn’t give you one unless you went hunting or something like that. You can’t have them to protect your home…

Well I might let you have some sort of a rifle to protect your home. See, owning rifles doesn’t really up the homicide or crime rate all that much.
Reason? Longarms are inconvenient. They are simply too large for criminals to lug around with them all the time. Hence criminals tend to use small arms as they are easily concealed. Yes you can put a longarm in a vehicle and hide it that way, but then you have to bring it in from the vehicle to your residence and someone might see you.
Most gun accidents are with pistols, not rifles. Pistols are small and easy to pick up and mess around with in the home or backyard. Rifles are quite large and most people do not whip them out and play with them in the home.
Personally, my gun control priority would be pistols. There really is no need to own one. However, if you had a business in a high crime area and could prove you were at risk, I would let you have a pistol, but you would have to lock it up in the store when you were not there and you could not take it home. I would also ban all semi-automatic pistols as there is not need for such a thing.
I would permit all rifles with the exception of semi-automatic rifles which serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever. These are weapons of war not fit for peacetime. They are for soldiers and maybe SWAT teams and nobody else.

  1. I don’t believe in having any gun to “protect” yourself with, unless you live in the projects and the cops are non responsive to that area. Aside from the ghetto, fuck guns. If they were banned, it’d be harder for criminals to get them too. The 2nd Amendment can suck my big, beautiful cock.

  2. If i buy the one way ticket to Mexico will you go please ?
I would love for you to make that comment about the 2nd Amendment to a combat Vet
    You sicken me

    1. I am curios what you think a “combat vet” would exactly do to Robert, and why? I am a vet myself, and I agree with him. I also use to be a bouncer at a bar in South Orange County, right next to Camp Pendleton. Beat up more “combat vet” marines than I can count. All they seemed to know was how to talk tough and pull triggers. Complete pansies in a fist fight.

    2. I don’t understand. what is the difference between a semi auto pistol and a revolver. they both are easy to conceal. they both discharge a bullet every time you pull the trigger. revolvers have removable drums and speed loaders. semi auto have removable clips. revolvers are made in as big as .50 cal and so are semi’s. what is the difference. do we all understand the argument. 1 bullet will kill you. that bullet doesn’t know what it came from. rifles are hard to use properly in under 10 yards. pistols have little accuracy over 30 yards. the difference in rifles are :single shot bolt action, single shot split, single shot muzzle loader, single shot pump, and single shot semi auto loader. oh I get it its not the bullet that kills its the loading mechanism. I get it. guns that load one bullet at a time as in bolt action don’t kill. wake the fuck up people. if you are fine not protecting yourself with a gun legally and choose to never know anything about them except what you learn from the movies then you don’t have a comment. its like listening to first graders about driving. everyone who has killed someone with a gun is mental and doesn’t have that gun legally. there are strict laws for gun ownership and still the law is sidestepped and people die daily as a result of a person not legally possessing a gun. how does taking guns away from lawful gun owners keeping lawless criminals from using guns. don’t be one of the sheep. buy a gun and practice with it. get a liscence and protect yourself from everybody. its your right. you can protect yourself in the U.S. with a gun.those of you who wish to not protect yourself its your right welcome to America. if you want to practice government then join the nra and spend your money on the lobbies that will protect your right to keep and bear arms.

  3. I think the process of acquiring a gun should be a little more arduous. In the case of handguns, maybe someone should have to get a permit from the local authorities. Other than that, I don’t like gun control. Nominay is wrong; ghetto dwellers are the last ones who should be allowed to have weapons. They’re the ones doing most of the murdering in this country.
The primary purpose of gun control should be to prevent accidents and the kind of mass murderers committed by crazy people. It would not prevent most gun homicides. Mexico, Russia, and a lot of other countries with high levels of gun violence all have strict gun control.

    1. You’re stereotyping all ghetto dwellers as thuggish criminals. Most are good people who have to live in fear with no real safety or recourse for self defense.
Until guns are made less available, little can be done to change this reality.

  4. Screw prohibition! I’m all for self-defense with firearms; I own a few. But,…… it should not be so easy to acquire a semi-autmatic handgun. It certainly shouldn’t be a cut and dried transaction that takes only twenty minutes.
A user is far more likely to accidentally discharge an automatic than a double-action revolver. If that isn’t bad enough, automatics have a lot more sex appeal, which means that people of all ages are more likely to play with them. Semi-automatics are also far more potent as offensive weapons because of their capacity and ease of reloading.
As an alternative to outlawing semi-autos or even all pistols outright, perhaps we should require a buyer to submit an application and wait a substantial (long) amount of time before he is allowed to take his pistol home. There could be an interview and an evaluation of a person’s psychological state and criminal history. Not only would this prevent a lot of nut jobs from acquiring Glock pistols and thirty round magazines, it would curtail pistol sales overall simply because the process of getting your hands on one would be a lot more lengthy and difficult.

  5. it isnt easier to accendently discharge a semi then a revolver. glocks dont have a hammer. my 45 semi 1911a1 is designed with a grip safety making it very difficult to use on yourself. all other semi’s have triggers and the same mechanisms as the revolver. the glocks are sold with lcokable glock boxes and all guns should be locked up were children and people with little knowledge of use ( gun control advocates ). In every situation where an accidental shooting or a mental patient kills somebody a safety protocal has been breached. there is know reason that a safe gun society can’t be had. it is the best option . gun safety has come along way in the last twenty years. buy the way a glock with a thirty round clip is no longer concealable. Guns are dangerious with 1 round . clip capacity doesnt make them more dangerious. Its the person with the gun and waiting periods, liscencing and concealed weapons clases are in place to weed out many of the problems. the system works and by no means disfunctable. might i remind everyone that more than 100,000 people die every year as a result of a bad persciption. remember dictatorships like there people unarmed.

  6. Ah well.
Guess I will wade in. I have been following this topic and I have some definite views. I am a gun enthusiast. I own one and aspire to own more. I see nothing wrong with that. Women collect far more shoes than they will ever need. There’s an automotive museum in just about every town that was
one man’s vision of a collection he wanted to have.
Nobody needs 100 pairs of shoes. Nobody needs a car for every day of the month. I think it is an innate drive to have more of which you desire. ‘Murica is kind of built on that too. ‘The American Dream’. Guns are a serious topic.
I have referenced several times to being from that near socialist state north of the border. Where I was from you could not get a hand gun unless you were a police officer. Hunting rifles and shotguns required a hunter’s safety certificate. That did not do much. I was privy to several people owning illegal handguns. I read the local newspaper, and they seem to have a problem with folks getting shot by handguns.
I really liked moving to the states and being able to legally own one. Just to level the playing field.
“However, if you had a business in a high crime area and could prove you were at risk, I would let you have a pistol, but you would have to lock it up in the store when you were not there and you could not take it home.”
I agree to some extent. Here’s the thing. They might be perfectly safe while operating their business. Problems start when you cart the proceeds off premise and to the bank. I personally know a restaurant owner that has his personal carry license just for that reason.
I like guns. I have always been fascinated with them. I like to think that in a free country a responsible person can own a gun.
If I had to propose a solution, I would endorse stringent gun control. Stuff that does happen today, but perhaps even further. Every gun registered. Registration fee paid every year (not huge sums, regular interaction so the that enforcement knows who has what). Absolute restrictions on violent offenders and also stiff penalties for people not authorized to own weapons. Mandatory gun safes.
Not really a solution, I know. I feel it’s too late to put the genie back in the bottle. IMHO the best way to deal with guns is to manage them vs. restrict them.

    1. the cold hard facts. when a society wants to do something about a problem. it looks at ways to make certain behaviors illegal. in order to lessen the problem. alcohol prohibition was a hugh lesson never learned. 70 so odd years of weed prohibition and to date nobody has died of a weed overdose. a small minority of uninformed people have decided that a certain weapon that they saw in a movie to be dangerious. the truth is all firearms are dangerious and should be locked up. every suggestion that the prohibites have is already being done. far more people have saved life and limb then those who have been inocently shot. and still in every single case a safety protocal was bypassed. 45,000 people die in car accidents every year. a vast majority because of texting. shouldn’t we take cell phones away. isnt that the same thing. should we take cars away. isnt it the same thing. Nobody wants to talk about bad persciptions that kill 100,000 every year. shouldn’t we take away all drugs or maybe just take away all doctors. guns for many people including woman represent a blanket of security that the law doesn’t offer. isnt medical care a security blanket. why wont we ask the tuff questions when it comes to medical care. more people have been hit by cars while walking or pedaling then accidentle gunshots. should we ban the cars. whould it be possible if we could go after those things that kill the most people and spend our money and efforts on those things that kill the most. 70 years of weed prohibition. political figures still saying the same thing. that is ” we are in control and we will tell you what to be afraid of.

        1. ‘Blah blah blah. Guns suck. Reduce guns, reduce shootings. Join the civilized world’
I am sorry that you missed this part of my comment.
Where I was from you could not get a handgun unless you were a police officer. Hunting rifles and shotguns required a hunter’s safety certificate. That did not do much. I was privy to several people owning illegal handguns. Reducing guns would reduce shootings. It won’t reduce violence. Knife attacks and people being beat with bats and hammers would rise. Babies and the bath water and all that…..

        2. For a long time I have thought of you nominay as one of the enlighten thinkers here on the blog. I show you , using factsthat your whole understanding of guns is about 2 percent of what somebody commenting on them should be. Guns are a big social stigma in the US just like sasquatch. Just like iI shouldn’t be commenting on the brain surgion blog you really have nothing for a gun discussion.

      1. Big G, Nothing can make you agree with Robert and I on this issue. If you want to see cars and drugs and sasquatch the same way you see guns, then kick back and enjoy your NRA, brainwashed mind. I know about the stats you listed, but I don’t care about them, because they have nothing to do with gun violence. Apples and oranges, friend. Apples and oranges …

    2. I was responding back to big g, not you. That said, I shouldn’t oppose guns because more babies will be killed in bath water if they are banned? And you want to be taken seriously.

  7. ‘That said, I shouldn’t oppose guns because more babies will be killed in bath water if they are banned? And you want to be taken seriously’
Sorry , you come off as quite the child. I thought a nice simple old timey
saying would be easy for you to absorb. You have not said one thing that has been thought through and should be taken seriously. I am sorry that debating is an art not taught to you. Maybe you should stfu and just listen for awhile.
    Asshole.

    1. It’s easier to kill people with guns. You don’t get mass knife attacks. Someone of your intelligence should feel embarrassed. I understand.

        1. A. It’s an anomaly.
          B. I direct you to this portion of the article you linked: “No fatalities have been reported, and according to Westmoreland County’s emergency management spokesman Dan Stevens not all of those hurt had been cut by the knife.”
Kind of hard to inflict the same kind of damage huh? Imagine if the Columbine shooters had been the Columbine stabbers.

        2. A. Bullshit. I do not care to cut n paste a mass of cases that could be easily found on google. Have at.
          B. Imagine if the right person had a gun when the Columbine A-holes acted up ?

        3. A. Bullshit. I do not care to cut n paste a mass of cases that could be easily found on google. Have at.
The amount of mass knifings is dwarfed by the amount of shootings. The amount of casualties from mass knifings is dwarfed by the amount of mass gunshot casualties.
          B. Imagine if the right person had a gun when the Columbine A-holes acted up ?
That’s the ideological belief held by geniuses such as yourself, but the shootings in question don’t usually doesn’t work out that way.
Violent crime has been much deterred in countries like the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, and Canada, where gun restictions are substantial.

      1. Last year alone more than 12,000 people were killed with knives in the U.S. does it matter if they were all killed in the same spot. Why can’t you understand the the mentally I’ll need to be treated. And in every case there were warning signs than nobody picked up on. In any event we were should ban bathwater by your civilized thinking.

        1. i understand that suicide buy gunshot must be popular. ive never seen that figure. 80 a day. so those who cut thier wrists are less dead. if you commit suicide then you have mental issues. you cant legally own a gun. those knife kills werent suicide. suicide rates have nothing to do with gun violence while knife kills arent suicide. i think its time for somebody to bring in some other rediciolious gun violence sinerios from another country that dont apply.

        2. By your logic, we shouldn’t have gone after Al Qaeda and the Taliban after 9/11, because you have a greater chance of getting struck by lightening than you do dying from a terrorist attack. It’s like saying terrorism has a stigma. I don’t find violence with high-powered weapons acceptable when foreigners inflict it on us anymore than when our own people do. Or it’s like saying as many people die in a civil war in the middle east as they do in the 2004 tsunami. The gun issue is not relative to other issues.

  8. ‘That’s the ideological belief held by geniuses such as yourself, but the shootings in question don’t usually doesn’t work out that way.
Violent crime has been much deterred in countries like the UK, Australia, the Netherlands, and Canada, where gun restictions are substantial’
Are Lobotomies subsidized in Texas ? Did you read my first post on this topic ? I lived in Canada you fucking asshole. Have you lived anywhere else but the States ? I am telling you that I lived there and the gun restrictions meant squat. Bad guys want one, they get one. Easy. It only
prevents the people who SHOULD have them, from getting them.
You scummy little subhuman. You are just like every sheeple that believes what they read . Perhaps the media enjoys reporting more on gun
    violence than anything else ?
(Sorry, didn’t mean to blow out your pea brain)

    1. Canadian gun violence is nowhere near what American gun violence is. You should know that. Part of that is less gun availability. Another part is less bad guys. I’m sorry that it’s so very hard for Canadians to acquire guns, but it sounds like all they have to is flip and be a bad guy, then they are easily accessible. You should have thought of that when you wanted one.
The problem with you “conservatives” is that your feathers get ruffled so easily. All your insults just reveal you to be a drama queen. Yawn. You’re boring (if that’s all you got).

      1. ‘The problem with you “conservatives” is that your feathers get ruffled so easily. All your insults just reveal you to be a drama queen. Yawn. You’re boring (if that’s all you got).’
Axially I have a very thick skin. I just do not suffer fools such as yourself gladly. Listen to me closely you retarded little fuck. And this is generally why I have been ALL over your small minded ass.
        I AM NOT A CONSERVATIVE.
It’s that you are such a simpleton and cannot fathom that there are liberals who are gun advocates, that irritates me most about you.
        Now wouldja STFU ?

        1. “Axially I have a very thick skin. I just do not suffer fools such as yourself gladly. Listen to me closely you retarded little fuck. And this is generally why I have been ALL over your small minded ass.”
Oh yes, I can see very much how thick your skin really is. Tougher than leather, and obviously it keeps you cool as a cucumber. That’s why you come off as having been emotionally stunted in jr high with a case of Tourette’s.
You have a conservative temperment and are unhinged on the gun issue. It’s a difference of opinion that you don’t suffer. You remind me of someone with borderline personality disorder.

      2. per capita it is more. you dont have large cities with gun laws upsetting the balance. if you take gun violence values from middle america where guns can be used for protection gun violence is still less then canada. when you idiots want to bring up murder rates for gun control dont use those rates from gun regulated areas. it is a proven faliure and only unarmed people get killed period. only unarmed women get raped, only unarm civilians are slaves, only unarmed civilians are victims of geicide.

        1. Nope, people try to fight back against criminals, even those invading their homes, with handguns and they get killed all the time. If you resist a rapist, you are more likely to be killed.

        2. Do you mean fight back. Or fight back with a gun. While fighting back without a gun insures a better than 95 percent failure and death, while fighting back with a gun insures 95 percent or better survival I’ve never heard of any woman being raped or killed while having a gun.

      1. ‘Yes, but the violent crime, homicide and gun homicide rates are way below the US as I understand it. Anyway you can own a longarm no problem. My friends do.’
It is still very much there and a problem. I don’t think the Canadians have the right answer. I think America might be headed on the right track. It’s all fucked up as it stands and needs to be ironed out. So yeah, it is better in the GWN, only marginally. You cannot walk the streets at night in urban areas, you could easily be shot, stabbed or raped. Just like ‘murica. It’s not an answer. It’s an ineffective band-aid.
My final answer is better regulation and with smarter people….and we still seem to have a ways to go…

      2. So all violent crime is down as a result of sticker gun laws. I don’t buy that. Violence isn’t controlled by accessibility to guns. Is it possible that social( drugs ) or economic problems in inner cities creating a difference. Do you have the figures for violent crime for middle america outside gun controlled cities. If your going to use violent crime rates you can’t use those rates from areas that are failed gun controlled cities.if you want to prove your point then those figures that are similar. If you could use the gun violence rate for gun violence in situations where drugs of alcohol aren’t involved outside gun controlled cities by a legal gun owner outside a defensive position. 0.000001 for murder rate per capita. All other gun violence is governed by another law already out there. What additional gun law would stop 99 percent of gun violence.

        1. Understanding the problem first will help fix the problem. Demonizing gun ownership by calling us gun nuts has never worked. Maybe Americas failed drug war would ease gun violence. Maybe spending more of the drug budget on harmful drugs and freeing up prison space from from Marianna crimes. If most gun violence in the U.S. isn’t drug related I’ll kiss you ass. At any rate fail social policies aren’t fixed by a gun control bandaid. Its a politicians election catchphrase and has never worked.

        2. BigG, regarding your long post you just left me. Two things.
          1) I oppose guns because I oppose people getting shot. I subscribe to the UK model. I don’t think the issue is complex the way that you do. The pro gun people like yourself twist themselves into a pretzel in their attempts to prove otherwise, but the proof is in their mind.
          2) I have left you a couple, more, recent posts in the last couple days involving more content and perspective.

  9. ‘You have a conservative temperment and are unhinged on the gun issue. It’s a difference of opinion that you don’t suffer. You remind me of someone with borderline personality disorder.’
Fuck you. I do not. I am a gun enthusiast and come at it from a very responsible perspective. Your grasp of the situation is terminally myopic. I have a very progressive well thought stance. Yours is knee jerk and insecure. Certainly not intellectual. Keep mewling there champ. I’ll be there to correct you at every turn. Unlike your father.

    1. Oh you are an enthusiast alright. More guns create more safety. I guess this is the society for you then. Welcome to America.
Excuse me if I don’t agree with all your pronouncements.

      1. See. That is fine. I do not mind a simpleton’s opinion. You have been the bitchy persona all along. I would not have said boo if you weren’t such a prick.

        1. Hey Dipshit.
I only participated ‘cuz YOU were taunting everyone in favor of guns by calling them a conservative. I proved my point. Over and over and over. You had no success in the debate.
Now it would be appropriate for you to skulk back under the bridge.

        2. “I only participated ‘cuz YOU were taunting everyone in favor of guns by calling them a conservative. I proved my point. Over and over and over. You had no success in the debate.”
You keep at this thing about running circles around me, that I’m pathetic, and how you have this sophisticated view on guns. Well, if you have to keep saying it rather than letting that speak for itself, if that’s what it is …
I don’t feel like you’ve bested me at all, or embarrassed me.
My view is pretty much the same as Robert’s, only what he believes about pistols, I apply to long arms as well.
As for “taunting everyone in favor of guns by calling them a conservative”, I think it all goes back to this:
“I am a gun enthusiast. I own one and aspire to own more.”
“I like guns. I have always been fascinated with them.”
Wanting to ejaculate all over firearms the way that you do is a shitty way to go. I was just letting that be known. As for my tone, I was letting Big G know what I thought of his phony argument.

        3. Dear nominay you haven’t even proved you know anything about guns. Much less anything involved in the gun debate. I have proven many if my statements. About a guns mechanical features. You have proved 0 knowledge of any guns mechanical features. You have no opinions outside what the media has told you. You have 0 facts and figures to promote you adopted viewpoint. You were even wrong about the political affiliation of most gun rights activist. Every gun rights activist is more educated on the subject then you. I proved that just 50 times in the last week .When making additional rules for society you have to have about 10 times you present knowledge about the subject. At least 5 times as much to comment. The real problem here is even though you haven’t brought 1 point to the table you still think you partucipated in the debate. You even think you won the debated. By my count its big g 50 , nominay 0. You have brought absolute 0 to the debate. But I will add that you have learned your liberal lessons well from your liberal media. That lesson is its OK to make laws while ignoring the real problem. Many more innocent people will be killed by drivers texting then guns. Shouldn’t we take away phones. Shouldn’t we take away cars. Why have you not answered any of my questions that use higher death rates and less media attention. Can’t you think for yourself. Oh yea in order to win a debate you must first be in it. I’ve been at the table for 2 weeks while your still in the bathroom memerizing catchphases from the liberal media( like auto, semu-auto, long arms, assault weapon, and clip capacity) while never knowing what they mean or therole they play in any particular event. And iI did all this without a verbal assault on your character. ( hint ) if you call someone a name your telling the rest if us you have nothing for the debate.

        4. ‘You keep at this thing about running circles around me, that I’m pathetic, and how you have this sophisticated view on guns. Well, if you have to keep saying it rather than letting that speak for itself, if that’s what it is’
I clearly have bested you. I provided clear, rational responses to your infantile bullshit. The only thing preventing you from understanding this is
your oversized ego and miniscule intellect.
‘Wanting to ejaculate all over firearms the way that you do is a shitty way to go.’
I am an adult in a free country. I have a freedom to choose and do things that I want. That this irritates you displays your lack of wits. Please, it is really time to fuck off now. Take your leave or I will taunt you yet again.

        5. “I am an adult in a free country. I have a freedom to choose and do things that I want.”
          How impressive.
“I clearly have bested you. I provided clear, rationale responses to your infantile bullshit. The only thing preventing you from understanding this is
your oversized ego and miniscule intellect.”
If I cared, there might be something to this claim.
And clearly, you have no oversized ego. 🙂
“I am a gun enthusiast. I own one and aspire to own more.”
“I like guns. I have always been fascinated with them.”
Just get a room already! You give new meaning to the phrase “sex and violence”. It makes me think of this:
“I am a blow up doll enthusiast. I own one and aspire to own more.”
“I like blow up dolls. I have always been fascinated with them.”
Sorry to have insulted your girl.

        6. ‘Just get a room already! You give new meaning to the phrase “sex and violence”. It makes me think of this:

Did you miss a regular dose of pills or something? You appear to have gone completely off the rails. If your best defense is to babble and spout nonsense, you might have me beat. I just cannot stoop that low.

        7. “Did you miss a regular dose of pills or something ? You appear to have gone completely off the rails.”
Lol, you think? Lighten up. Pull the branch out of your ass.
“If your best defense is to babble and spout nonsense, you might have me beat. I just cannot stoop that low.”
Lol. Because being an expert in using foul language and disrespecting your fellow man with verbal abuse is elevating the conversation. I also don’t loathe and despise people like you do. Oh yes, how very dignified you are …

        8. ‘Lol. Because being an expert in using foul language, and disrespecting your fellow man with verbal abuse is elevating the conversation. I also don’t loathe and despise people like you do. Oh yes, how very dignified you are …’
Of course, completely sidestepping the fact you are the idiot that started demeaning folks in this conversation. Go play in traffic loser.

        9. “Go play in traffic loser.”
Mr. E2me wants me to die. Boo hoo.
“Of course, completely sidestepping the fact you are the idiot that started demeaning folks in this conversation.”
You’re more demeaning than me any day. You have a history of snide remarks on this site that are out of place and nasty. I’ll illustrate that for you some other time. Until then, don’t choke on your hatred bad ass.

      1. I’m not sure if you knew this two days ago, otherwise I may have been more tuned in. The liberal stance on guns are restrictions and background checks.

        1. This is correct. I think Toomey is basically a progressive man, but he is conservative on some things. For instance, he does adopt the conservative position on guns. Not every liberal is a down the line, by the book liberal. Most liberals are conservative on an issue or two. I am a Leftist, and even I am conservative or even reactionary on an issue or two.

        2. Both of which are in place and used nationally. Are they working. No. The leftist answer is always more laws. As Americans we have more laws then any society. The leftist believes its OK to have an 11 percent prison population. The rightist loves selling the leftist expensive prison corporations. For the record the gun lobby is the biggest swing vote and the only reason any republican control in the whitehouse or congress. There are no real figures on the gun crowd for party affiliation. The republicans embraced this group in order to get elected. The dems haven’t yet realized that not bringing up more gun control measures gets them elected every time. I know many republicans and none give a crap about guns. They are more conserned about feeding false environmental info to the public because dumping trillions of tons of co2 into the air doesn’t effect weather. I’m not a rightist or a leftist I’m for or against policies on their merits and draw backs. I like allot of the society from Roberts socialism standpoint. Robert and I agree on everything except additional gun control measures. The difference is how each of us understands guns and how to evaluate the numbers on very different arguements. The liberal media has demonized all aspects of gun ownership. Including an amendment assault on the second. This assault on any amendment gives government more power and the people less. Franklin said ” those who would give up rights for security deserve neither.” Our founding fathers thought that the second amendment was very important or it wouldn’t have been second after free speech. The second amendment doesn’t need a liberal interpretation as even though society changes humans have not.
