Why Men Might Want to Learn to Like "Chick Music"

Females often also like the harder music that we males often like, but to be honest, when it comes down to it, females will usually prefer softer music, and males will often like harder music. You might think it’s pussy to like chick music, but I have been listening to it all my life. I think it is good for men to get into chick music, if you like it. For one thing, a lot of it is good music. For another thing, a lot women, especially young women, love this kind of music. So now you have one more thing in common with women! Females are typically very happy to find a normal, regular, non-wimpy guy who actually enjoys the type of music they like. In addition to sharing one more common thing with women, listening to this type of music can help you think like a woman. I actually do have a very large part of me that more or less thinks like a woman. You might think that is pussy or gay, but actually it enables me to get along with women very well! The more you understand women, the more you learn to think like a woman, the closer you will get to women. If you have good Game, that can lead to lots of great sex. Honestly, most of the most notorious womanizers I have ever known were not ultra-macho types but instead they were somewhat androgynous. Their androgyny meant that they had a lot in common with women, and they sort of thought like women too. This is one more thing that they had in common with women, and it enabled them to get along with females very well. This is why I have never agreed with the “You have to treat women like crap. It’s the only way to deal with them,” point of view. Lots of men who truly love women do great with women. And a number of these guys love women so much that they actually think like a woman to some extent. Women love men who love women, and they also love men who can think like a woman to some extent without being a wimp or a queer.

  1. Exactly my thoughts. I guess I’m quite androgynous myself a character trait I’ve fought hard all the time. I mean I always pretended to be what I’m not: some sort of super-misogynistic Alpha male who is 100% masculine and would rather TALK AT women than TALK TO them.
Well, this imaginary, self-created bubble is nothing but a manifestation of repressed desires – women can see right through it and point out that I’m not that much of a chauvinistic pig as I believe myself to be.
I got away with perfectly misogynistic remarks to women I’ve hardly known and even close female friends/work colleagues: “You will make a nice whore but never a proper wife”, “Woman, you’re so uppity! Only if a man had smacked you in the face and put you in your place!”, “Your father was an idiot for failing to raise you properly”. I mean I’ve been saying this sort of stuff to women all the time: they do get startled a bit but it hardly caused a rift as they could decipher that I’m not really serious.
So yea, I’m all for women empowerment and female equal rights although my ego would hate to admit it.

  2. I’ve never listened to any hard music in the first place, and don’t like chick music either. I can’t stand chick music, and I can’t stand hard metal type stuff.
The only music I can tolerate is country music and lite-rock stuff, along with some jazz and soul I guess. I enjoy rock music from the 70’s and 80’s.
Don’t really like rap or any other nigga music.

  3. Robert can you give some examples of what you would call chick music, I’m sure I probably like some of the stuff. Alanis Morrisette I’ve never liked, a lot of women seem to like Jack Johnson, who I think is so bland, boring and underwhelming as a musician. I really don’t care what kind of music I listen too, my musical tastes are very eclectic, as long as it’s good music that’s what counts for me.

  4. Women tend to listen to lame music that lacks any depth and artistic craft. I can count on one hand the number of women I’ve met in my life that had musical tastes that impressed me.

        1. I like them a lot. I saw them live once in 1980. They made a movie out of that concert, and supposedly I am in that movie in the audience. LOL, 1980, you weren’t even born yet, kiddo!

    1. I like both of those songs. But I was young and needed the money. I’m a metalhead but I’ve listen to country for a couple of years now as a process with medication to bring my blood pressure down. If the vikings had listened to metalicca before battle I believe all of Europe would be red
      haired.

    2. ‘If the vikings had listened to metalicca before battle I believe all of Europe would be red haired.’
      Indeed. Music to conquer by.
” I first produced my pistol. And then produced my rapier.
I said ‘stand and deliver’ for the devil , he may take ya…”
I use that tune to put me in a ‘special’ mood.

    3. The power ballad antidote is I’m not in love by 10cc:
      I’m not in love
      So don’t forget it
It’s just a silly phase I’m going through
      And just because
      I call you up
Don’t get me wrong, don’t think you’ve got it made
I’m not in love, no no, it’s because..
      I like to see you
      But then again
That doesn’t mean you mean that much to me
      So if I call you
      Don’t make a fuss
Don’t tell your friends about the two of us
I’m not in love, no no, it’s because..
      I keep your picture
      Upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that’s lying there
      So don’t you ask me
      To give it back
I know you know it doesn’t mean that much to me
I’m not in love, no no, it’s because..
Ooh you’ll wait a long time for me
Ooh you’ll wait a long time
Ooh you’ll wait a long time for me
Ooh you’ll wait a long time
      I’m not in love
      So don’t forget it
It’s just a silly phase I’m going through
And just because I call you up
Don’t get me wrong, don’t think you’ve got it made
      I’m not in love
      I’m not in love

  5. There was a beer commercial years ago made me laugh. The scene was an aged black dude sitting in his mansion giving advice to a couple of young guys. The quote I remember
” Do you know why I like Kenny G ? Because the ladies like Kenny G ”
I did look for the commercial but could a not find it. I spent all the time I have for that yesterday. If anybody can find it , please post it !

    1. I remember that beer commercial. The old wise player giving women advice to the youngins. I still don’t listen to Kenny g. Also had young girlfriends that listen to rap. I loved sex more than anything but I couldn’t listen to rap. Rap is the young and stupid telling the young and stupid about life’s lessons. When they haven’t yet experienced life. They also needed the base to rattle windows 2 blocks away.

      1. I guess I do listen to Kenny G these days. I play jazz stations a lot while driving and working. It’s just good white noise for me.
I think KG might have snuk into the mix on occasion. I will listen to some rap. I lie parts of Jayz ‘The Black album’. I was liking Afroman for a while. Wiz Khalifa had a good song, I have a soft spot for Snoop (I shit thee not, we used the same tutor for our chilluns.) . Flo rida ? There’s some O.K. stuff out there IMHO…..
        * ESPECIALLY THIS*
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqINj1g3vHs
(Had to go w/ the re-mix, the original required age verification. re-mix not so bad – original better)
Right now I listen to everything Slightly Stoopid. Love Sublime and somehow hadn’t stumbled across S.S.
But yeah, given original topic and reference to Kenny G…is the only reason I have ever listened to Madonna. I figured out early on, ‘hey chicks seem to like this chick. She doesn’t rape my ears…so what the hell…’

  6. I already know some of the words to that. My dad used to sing it and lots of other songs when I was a kid. My dad is masculine to very masculine though. He just likes melodies that he likes. I think its more the melody he’s attracted to that the words though.

  7. I think I like a lot of soft music like Don McLean or Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez. I also like country and western, which isn’t the most hard and aggressive but it quite manly. I love folk music and the likes of Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
I never considered any of this chick music because lots of men like all of it.
How soft does something have to be before you call it chick music? Is Billy Joel chick music? Lyrically he’s quite masculine but he has some soft ballads- are they chick music?

      1. I would have to label Justin Bieber ‘chick music’. You never hear any guys saying they just listened to him. I personally despise the little shit and would love to toss him off a bridge.
There are some artists I would consider ‘chick music’ that I like. Lately I have been listening to ‘PINK’. I never thought I would admit to that. Give this a listen and try to blame me…..
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_IIMwCmkI0
I like Adele. Definitely chick music. I can tolerate some Beyonce’. I guess it depends on the artist and song, not just the genre.

        1. ‘What about Britney Spears? Chick music?’
I have been forced to listen to that drivel. I would say , yes. Chick music.
The most processed of the chick music out there. I always thought she had a career cuz of the way she looked and her body. There’s tone deaf sheeple out there lapping this garbage up. I think it’s just a bunch or drunk fags listening to her music at this point. It’s for tacky individuals with a knack for zero quality control.

    1. I don’t know Kenny G music but no way am I listening to Brittney Spears for any reason. That’s just shitty pop music. I don’t mind feminine music as long as its good.
The ones Beatrix quoted are just corny and sentimental and over the top.

  8. How about ‘sometimes when we touch’: “sometimes when we touch, the honesty’s too much and I have to close my eyes and hide. I want to hold you til I die, til we both break down and cry. I want to hold you til the fear in me subsides”. I just wrote that from memory ha.

  9. I have a wide range of taste in music. Old ghetto black music, Punk Rock, metal, which is considered masculine, and Disco and various forms of music made by women, which is considered feminine.
Some of my favorite dance songs are super gay. Weather Girls “Raining Men”, Miguel Brown “So many men so little time”. LOL. The former came on the radio in the car and me, and my dad were liking it, despite its gay lyrical overtones. We both like the beat to the song.
That’s it for me. I could care less about lyrical content or one’s voice on record. It’s the music, actual sound that matters most.
I once was playing nothing but Stevie Nicks tunes in the car while riding with coworkers, and they thought I was gay.
I like music that’s rich in harmony and melody or high in rhythm and tempo. Basically music with energy. If you like music that’s predominately like by females or gay men, you’re chicky or a fag.
You like music rich in harmony/melody,you’re chicky. If you like music that’s high in rhythm/tempo,you’re gay. And if you like music that’s rich in harmony/melody with high rhythm/tempo, you’re faglady or lady fag.
