[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE#t=172] This has got to be one of the weirdest videos I have ever seen. From a Norwegian TV show. If it’s Norwegian, why are they singing in English. This video is better than LSD.

I’ll see your freeky video, and raise you one.

Norwegians, Swedes and Finns all sing in English (when playing Rock and some Pop) So do Germans ( A-Ha, Abba, Scorpions, Hanoi Rocks are ex.).
Why? Rock sounds ridiculous in other languages- and, it won’t sell anywhere else if it’s not in English.

Sorry Mott, but you are very wrong here. Take the German Band Rammstein. They pretty much prove that German is the language of metal as it is an ”angry language.” Ramstein are HUGE in the anglosphere.

Rammstein in Edmonton in 2011. The non German speaking audience singing in German.
Pakistani Sufi Rock band Junoon were pretty big outside of South Asia as well, but nowhere close to Rammstein. I think Junoon broke up a while ago too.
Rock most certainly can work in other languages, with a bit of work.
I actually agree with mott in general, but i immediately thought of rammstein when he wrot that. Du Hast is cool.
Also falco doing amadeus in kraut sounds cool.
But mostly, german rock sounds like turkey hot dogs to me.
This why they need the superior black people in the band.
