Rachel Sweet "And Then He Kissed Me" "Be My Baby"

Two fantastic cover songs from 1981 by Rachel Sweet. Rachel was only 19 years old when she recorded this song and video. She is pretty much forgotten now, but she did star in the movie Hairspray in 1988. She was pretty much done recording albums. One year after this huge hit came out, she was already done recording music for the most part. In the 1990’s, she did some work as an actress and screenwriter but for all intents and purposes, she is retired and has been for a long time. She is 51 years old now, and she still looks really beautiful. “Be My Baby” was originally recorded by the Ronettes in 1965.

  1. In the same way that old Warner Brothers songs hipped people to Ricard Wagner, Martin Scorsese has taught younger generations about so much different music, from rock to doowop and blues. This song will forever be associated in my mind with the longest single tracking shot (until “Boogey Nights” broke the record) in history.
