From the 1982 hit movie, Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains. This is a version of the song by the all-girl band The Stains. Lead singer is actress Diane Lane in a very early role. Scene at the mall where the girls steal the boys’ hit song and perform it in their own band: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwYkyz7AFrg] They go onto to great fame with their ripped off song. Diane Lane was in the ultra-cheesy, but great rock & roll opera “Streets of Fire,” directed by Walter Hill, with Willem Dafoe and Rick Moranis as well. She was gorgeous and I think she used her own voice. The best, or at least most original, soundtrack of the 80s was in that Coppola pic, Rumblefish, though. Stewart Copeland was the man.

Wow, Diane Lane and was really hot as young punk rocker!
Oops, I forgot to include Laura Dern.
