I just read Deborah Spungen’s “And I Don’t Want to Live This Life,” about her daughter Nancy’s tragic murder. The whole story was so sad. Nancy was essentially an undiagnosed schizophrenic who used heroin to self-medicate. Sid was a talentless, clueless kid who let Malcolm McClaren use him until he was a dry husk. I was surprised to learn that Nancy came from an upper middle-class Jewish family
