Tulio on Black Crime and Feminism and What to Do About Them

Tulio, a Black man in his 30’s, is a regular commenter on the site. It was nice to see him move out defensive mode on the subject and write a deep and heartfelt post about these matters which are so painfully dear to his heart. He said that he thinks about this stuff constantly, as he is a young Black man. That’s sad, but if you care, it’s understandable. Tulio notes that the problem is now so entrenched that it seems to be intractable. He also notes the corrosive effect of a lot of the new Black music. Even White prison gang members have remarked on how detrimental they feel this music has been to White youth in recent years. They say young White man come to prison after listening to hip hop for years and think they are tough badass gangsters going to live it up in paradise in a maximum security prison. And boy do they have another thing coming! I would like to thank Tulio for this post. Even if these problems seem intractable, we should at least be discussing them, as the human and societal damage is of epic proportions.

Black Crime

As for Black crime, it’s a confluence of a lot of different things and not an easy problem to solve. Single motherhood. You have a lot of fatherless homes and single mothers. While not all single mothers raise bad sons (I personally know great guys raised by single moms), most guys in prison never had a strong father in their life. Women’s role is nurture; men’s role is discipline. Boys aren’t afraid of their moms. They’re afraid of their dads. Boys need fathers first and foremost. I don’t know what the high cause of single motherhood is in the Black underclass. I truly have no idea, and I think about this stuff all the time since I’m a Black man. It wasn’t always like this. There was a time that Blacks were known for having strong families. The explosion seems to have happened in the 60s. I don’t think there’s anything genetic about it. This doesn’t seem to be the case in Africa, especially traditional African society. It seems to be something unique to Black Americans. I don’t know what it looks like amongst Black Latins or Caribbeans. But family in Africa seems pretty strong, so I know it’s not genetic. Dead zones. Secondly you have a large cultural vacuum in certain parts of the country. Do you ever read about how there are dead zones in the ocean? Certain areas where there is not enough oxygen and that part of the ocean is devoid of life? The inner cities of America are dead zones. They are islands of misery, hopelessness, broken schools, high unemployment, drugs, urban decay. There’s very little there to give people inspiration and hope. The church is often the only thing. The people living there have just enough so as not to revolt, yet not enough for them to be functional players in the economy. The origin of such ghettos can be traced back to segregation. Some of these communities thrived at a time and were fairly self-sufficient. The Black middle class fled these places. And all that was left behind were the poor and a crumbling society. The middle class Blacks might have served as role models to those less fortunate. The Whites didn’t care about them either. Everyone that could afford to get out, got out. So what can be done about it? I don’t know. The problem seems almost intractable. So I guess the only real solution here would be some sort of gentrification. Concentrated poverty is a very dangerous thing. As I’ve shown before, it can turn White people violent as well like it did in NYC tenements or as it currently does in Glasgow. Spreading the poor out a bit should help. And it should also make their behavior better through cultural osmosis. I can imagine no worse situation than being a Black kid raised by a poor single mother where the only male role models are thuggish rappers and drug dealers. They need to see other things and get out of that box. They need something positive to aspire to. High unemployment. When unemployment is high, it makes working in the dark side of the economy more seductive. I’m sure many of these kids coming up would like to be able to make a decent living and not have to worry about ending up in jail or getting gunned down. But the fewer jobs there are, the more it makes the risk of selling drugs seem worth it. Even fairly decent people will start acting shady if that’s the only way they have to survive. Well one major problem is that many blue collar jobs that Blacks used to do for a living wage either went to China or went to illegal aliens. It wasn’t uncommon to see Black carpenters, drywallers, construction workers, meatpackers, etc. Now these jobs are almost all entirely done by Mexicans illegally in the country. This was a huge issue in the rebuilding of New Orleans after Katrina. There were a lot of Blacks out of work that wanted those construction jobs, and they were livid that they were going to Mexicans who aren’t even citizens and don’t even have any roots in the city. How can anyone not feel their pain? The gutting of solid blue collar work has had a huge effect on Rust Belt White America but it has been an utter disaster for Black America. I see no easy solution here either. Music. I also thing the music is a problem. Now maybe it’s an issue of art imitating life, or it’s the other way around, I don’t know. But I do think it has something of a feedback loop effect. A lot or rap music, even if not explicitly advocating violence, tends to reinforce a lot of selfish attitudes, hyper-materialism, fast money, fast women, party hard, a lot of Machiavellianism. It’s pervasive, even in the more lukewarm hiphop music. Sometimes it’s just the attitude. The anger. One rarely sees rappers smiling or seeming happy unless surrounded by money, bling and sexy women. This stuff has to stop, and if I had a kid, I’d be very careful about what they listen to. That said, not all rap music is like that, a lot of it is positive and life affirming. Some of it is great to dance too or just enjoy in the background if you have the smarts to not get caught up in the Machiavellian stuff. It should also be noted that not all “Black music” is like this. The majority of Black music is not rap and does not contain violent lyrics. Unfortunately though, most of the music young Black males of the inner city listen to will be rap and often with terrible messages. What can anyone do about this? Not much, as long as there’s a first amendment, rappers can pretty much talk about whatever they want sell their music to whomever they want, most of which is bought by Whites anyway. Sorry I don’t have any easy solutions, but these are just a few things that contribute to the issue.

Feminism

As for feminism, and I assume we’re talking about feminism of the more militant variety, the Pandora’s Box is open on that one. I wish things had stayed with equity feminism, and we could’ve left it there. But it then evolved into an assault on gender roles and gender as some sort of social construct rather than biological reality. That’s what happens when people with PhD’s take over the movement. I know it’s not realistic for every American man to find a foreign woman, but for those that can, I think that’s the best solution. Foreign women are much more enjoyable to be around.

  1. Regarding feminism, it’s linked to the pill. It’s the cause and solution. I’ve put my feet in the mud regarding this issue.
As for blacks, the causes are a mixture of genetic and environmental factors. Loss of blue collar, low skill jobs + violent tendencies = crime.
To help the Blacks, there should be a greater effort by the white suburban communities to help the ghettos. Steps like starting a community program by bringing in college students to teach basic life skills, churches promoting healthier lifestyles and discouraging drugs/prostitution.
Next would simply be to mix up the racial structure of the ghettos themselves! Let Asians or Poles or whatever move in. Shake it up. When you have any group that holes themselves in, it makes it far easier for politicians to get control and keeps the people in a cage.
The ghetto is a cage. That’s why Jews were forced in them in the first place. The city has to slowly open that cage and change the color up a bit. If not, there will be a boiling of ethnic hatred.

    1. Tulio are you not Athlone McGinnis? He definitely IS NOT in his 30’s and is most likely 19 years old as we speak.

      1. No, Athlone is way smarter than me. And much more articulate. He’s an Ivy league student. I went to Cal State.

        1. Google him. He’s a young black dude at an Ivy League college in the northeast. He writes on manosphere blogs and forums and has dropped a few guest post from time to time. Really smart guy.

        2. @ Tulio
You’re right, this guy knows what he’s talking about. This is an excellent post of his, and should be required reading for all within the manosphere.
          http://www.rooshv.com/the-hypocrisy-of-american-feminism
One thing I will disagree with him on though is that I don’t think white or Asian women are any less inclined towards “beta bashing” than black women.
Having been around many Asian and white women, they can be as big of beta bashers as anyone. They’re just more subtle about it.

          1. Black women are the worst beta bashers of all. Then comes White women from the US. Then comes Asian women from Asia. They hardly beta bash at all if you ask me. I don’t know that Hispanic women beta bash. I don’t get too much of it, and I have been beta bashed, lol.

    2. First of all Ishmael, Section 8 housing has done just that. Heck, now you can move into a regular house, courtesy of Aunt Samantha, right on the beach in an upper middle class neighborhood. And guess what happens? The crime and dysfunction spreads out!
Why is it the responsibility of middle class white suburbanites to help the ghetto? They’re time is fully booked with work and kids, they don’t get enough sleep as it is. How about middle class and wealthy BLACK people helping the ghetto? How about Jay Z and other Black celebs? But guess what? Once they leave, they NEVER go back! They spit on the ghetto.
Anyway, the ghetto is overblown. The majority of American Blacks DO NOT live in ghettos.

        1. Like I said, MOST Black Americans do not live in ghettos. And the internet has been a boon to them. Many are thriving in small online businesses.

        2. You don’t know America. It’s an epidemic in our cities. It’s a BIG PROBLEM, Bhabji. Don’t downplay it.
And yes, rich blacks should go help them…but that’s not happening. It’s those white guilt folks that actually do something productive. What can I say.

      1. This is not really true that you can rent a fine house right on the beach for cheap. A friend of mine tried to get Section 8 in Oakhurst, California. He could not get it because not one landlord would take it. In better neighborhoods, the vast majority of landlords simply refuse.
Breaking up the ghetto and scattering it about it to areas surrounding it has been proving to work. The ghetto residents who undergo this intervention do act better than they would have. How much better? Somewhat better, but not dramatically better.

      2. The notion that only 20% of Blacks live in the inner cities is overblown. For instance in my town, only 4% of the population is Black. Yet quite a few of them are indeed “ghetto Blacks.” So “ghetto Blacks” live outside of ghettos themselves.

        1. Oh and have you guys ever been to DC before?
It used to be 80% black, its now 50%. CRIME HAS DROPPED dramatically.

        2. “Quoting from Wiki (if someone wants to do more research on it, shoot), 58% of blacks live in the metropolitan areas.”
But not 100% of those blacks are living in ghettos.
Ghettos are a problem and again I keep telling you people to read the Moynihan Report, the reactions it got, and there’s your answer as to “why”. Now go do that and get back to me when you’re done.

        3. As someone that has familiarity with every major city on the East, it’s disgusting how you’re downplaying it. Blacks dominate most cities here, and even if they are a small percentage of the city’s population, they have disproportionate crime. You think once they leave the ghetto they will join their white neighbors and have a nice pickett fence. Ha Ha – my neighbors are a major exception to the rule. Hell,I think I’ll even let him post here. Education levels are AWFUL. Family structures for most Blacks making under 50k are AWFUL. Income levels are AWFUL and crime is AWFUL.
Hey, even amongst normal middle class blacks, there is a culture of extreme decadence and decline. The music is bad, most do horrible in school while their Nigerian counterparts dominate them in every non athletic activity.

  2. “…Foreign women are much more enjoyable to be around.”
I wonder how long foreign women would stay enjoyable, once they are in United States and the floodgates of gender feminism is open for consumption.

Whatever be the case, I think fishing on foreign shores to find ‘untainted’ women is a bit like economic immigration, only that it is the other way round. In this case, countries lower on the economic and developmental scale become havens for western men looking for dependable women. Why not fix your own country instead?

    1. @ Atheist Indian
What solutions would you propose for Western men to fix their countries in this regard?

      1. Personally I’m waiting for them to GTOW like they keep “threatening” to do. Can we get a date and time on that so we can pop open a bottle in celebration already?

    2. @ Bay Area Gay
I am not sure if I am the guy to propose solutions, given that I have very little personal experience with American women or American feminism.

Rather than running away from the problem and hunting for foreign women (which the ethical equivalent of the H1B visa regime), American men could try to tackle the problem and find solutions, workable solutions, for the ‘feminist problem’.

I have observed that in Central/Eastern Europe, American women lose their (proverbial) sense of entitlement and arrogant behaviour, after they find themselves relegated to the ‘bottom of the market’, so to speak. In India on the other hand, there is an elevation of their value (due to the desi fascination with white people) and hence, their sense of entitlement goes through the roof.

So rather than blaming the women, I think the problem is the culture that enables and tolerates such behaviour. Any potential solution to this problem will have to deal with the culture first.

      1. “I have observed that in Central/Eastern Europe, American women lose their (proverbial) sense of entitlement and arrogant behaviour, after they find themselves relegated to the ‘bottom of the market’, so to speak. White female tourists in India have entitlement issues? Do tell!

        1. Nice verbal acrobatics there. ‘American women’ gets conflated to ‘white female tourists’. And I thought you were above ‘identity politics’ and rambles of that sort…

By the way, as weird as it may seem, I can almost sense what your fingers were itching to type about the matter. Just get on with it, let everyone here know how I am…

I am not as cruel to deprive you of your little self-satisfied victory jig and your attempt to get back as ‘desi guys’. Oh wait, it wouldn’t work if I don’t get offended, would it?

    1. Pat, I’m reading The Garbage Generation at Fisheaters that you linked to and I disagree with this;
“Feminists protest against the double standard required by the regulation of female sexuality. The double standard is an essential part of the patriarchal system. Male sexuality requires less regulation because it is less important. Male unchastity sets a bad example and demoralizes wives who find out about it, but otherwise damages society little. Female unchastity destroys the marriage contract, the family, the legitimacy of children, their patriarchal socialization, the security of property and the motivation of work–destroys civilized society. ”
Male promiscuity and/or infidelity ALSO destroys the marriage contract, the family, the legitimacy of children, their patriarchal socialization, the security of property and the motivation of work–destroys civilized society.
Therefore male sexuality needs to be regulated on par with female sexuality.

  3. Gang violence seems to be a big theme. I wonder what percentage of the black murders in the USA are gang or drug related. Is this kind of info recorded?

    1. It doesn’t make a difference. Gang or not, it’s still Black and points to social problems in their community.

  4. FOREIGN WOMEN? Believe me, you men don’t know how easy you got it with American women. They allow you to be artsy slackers as long as you look good doing it. With Asian women, no way. Plus you have to deal with the Asian family. Eastern European women might be better but then they’re hardcore gold diggers. Perhaps African women might be the perfect balance but it depends on what region. Ethiopians and other Africans often only date and mate with their own kind, not even African Americans. In fact, African American men are the last men they’d date.
” I don’t know what the high cause of single motherhood is in the black underclass. I truly have no idea and I think about this stuff all the time since I’m a black man. Read the Moynihan Report, Tulio.

    1. That report is a good read. I agree with it.
As for American women, go south. I’m not kidding, go south. Just go south. The women there are less vile than the feminists up North. And those feminists are ruining the name of Liberal ideology.

  5. Btw Robert, I’m glad to see that your blog is increasingly embracing manosphere topics like game and anti-feminism.

    1. Its just a hop, skip and jump before Sodini/Holmes apologetics and hamster rationalization like “game can save lives” crap, in’nt it?

      1. Bhabiji, every time I log into this blog I see you snarking and snapping away. What’s the deal with your bitterness?

        1. She is a “dravidian” Indian, and has an inferiority complex based towards that, no one likes her so she has to drag/annoy anyone down.

        2. Xera, I’ve still yet to hear what a “dravidian” is. So far Ishmael and yourself have offered that Dravidian means South Indian and that Dravidian means Dalit. So ALL South Indians are Dravidians and Harijans or all Harijans are South Indians. Its a confusing clusterfuck. I also provided you with a map of India to indicate to me the whereabouts of Dravidadesh, but no clarification from your side on any of this has come.
Tulio, the online Manosphere is a joke that will never be taken seriously by anybody.

        3. I see. So she’s trolling.
          Bingo.
Also great post T. I’ll comment later after I collect my thoughts over a game of Dota 🙂

        4. Bhabaijji, I am guessing that you are from that “Bengal region” and you look like a “dravidian” and you are not from the Indo-Aryan upper castes, hence your rampant questioning and a obvious inferiority complex.

        5. There is nothing mysterious about Bhabiji’s behavior, Tulio. She’s just a feminist. This is what it looks like.
This is your mind on feminism. Egg in the frying pan. Any questions?

        6. Xera, “Bhabaijji, I am guessing that you are from that “Bengal region” and you look like a “dravidian” and you are not from the Indo-Aryan upper castes, hence your rampant questioning and a obvious inferiority complex.”
Let’s break this down. Bengalis are not “Indo-Aryans” and all Bengalis are not upper castes. Do I get that right, Xera?
Now please tell me in which specific caste or castes do all Bengalis fall, and what are the specific upper castes, by name that a Bengali cannot belong to?
And please point out to me what you refer to as the “Bengal region”.

        7. Robert about Bhabiji:
“There is nothing mysterious about Bhabiji’s behavior, Tulio. She’s just a feminist. This is what it looks like.
This is your mind on feminism. Egg in the frying pan. Any questions?”
          Robert about himself:
“I have had all the major themes at various points in the past: Schiz OCD, gay OCD (HOCD), POCD, Harm OCD, racist OCD, fear of various illnesses and lots of others. That is all I am going to say at the moment.”
          Ahem. Cough. Ahem.

        8. She’s a feminist of a racial group that’s world renknowned for not being in the slightest bit attractive.

    2. Thanks Tulio, and once again, I would like to thank you for writing this post for me. It was very well written. So well done in fact that I almost wondered if you even wrote it. You do write well in the comments section, where you are one of the better commenters, but this comment was really a step above. It’s getting towards professional caliber writing = publishable.

      1. Well, thank you. I just sort of banged it out at 3am last while bleary-eyed. It could’ve been better honestly if I wrote it during the day. I made some typos and didn’t double check as I was anxious to hit the sack.

        1. Tulio, read the Moynihan report and reactions to it at the time. There’s your answer.
Robert wrote, “So, in environmentalist circles, outside of reflexive denialism that there is a problem in the first place and the ensuing attempts to pawn it all off on environment, the entire discussion is simply banned. You’re not allowed to talk about. They propose stupid solutions like fighting poverty, homelessless, better education and health care, more jobs, more social programs, fight racism and all that bullshit. The problem is that the liberals have been offering these same crap “solutions” to Black crime for decades now, and while I support these efforts, there is little evidence that any of it even works. Furthermore, we have been in a reactionary politics mode for over 30 years now and the trend in both parties is to stop or slow way down any such efforts to fight the problems above. So when I die in 30 years, all of the problems above will be just as neglected as ever, and Black crime will still be through the roof.”
Read the Moynihan report!!!! My god Robert you were probably 20 when it was written, you should know about it and the reaction it received. Because it was not heeded is WHY things got to the point they are in the urban black “community”.

  6. I think your concept of spreading the poor around a bit has alot of merit, great idea. And it’s sadly, sadly ironic that liberals, with clueless carte-blanche compassion for illegals, have so badly hurt a group of people they claim to champion. Thanks for sharing your perspectives, very incisive.

    1. Richard, blue collar black people are now passe and no longer the trendy cause de jure. Probably because all liberals have at least one blipster friend they can use as a “see, you’ve come a long way baby” example and groove to A Tribe Called Quest together with. Therefore they’ve had to turn their gaze elsewhere and South of the Border for a cause.

  7. Robert, you’re now claiming to be an MRA? What do you make of all their whining about what they call “Cultural Marxism”?

  8. A year before Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed there, it was a lot harder to show the love in Memphis. And yet, in an ancient movie theater in South Memphis, black and white musicians made some of the most inspired music we’ll ever hear.

  9. the population there are very few black politicians. The city of Salvador, Bahia , for instance, is 80% Afro-Brazilian but has never had a black mayor. Critics indicate that US cities that have a black majority, such as Detroit and New Orleans , have never had white mayors since first electing black mayors in the 1970s.

  10. Ishmael wrote:
The music is bad, most do horrible in school while their Nigerian counterparts dominate them in every non athletic activity.
But how is Nigeria doing as a country? If Nigerians were as dominating as you seem to think, why is Nigeria such a mess?

  11. This doesn’t seem to be the case in Africa, especially traditional African society. It seems to be something unique to black Americans.
I would strongly disagree with this statement. There are striking similarities between sub-Saharan African social behavior and the behavior of the black diaspora:
    1) Low paternal investment in families.
    2) Women doing the bulk of the work.
    3) Increased levels of promiscuity and relatively low levels of paternity certainty.
While technically there are lower levels of fatherless households, effectively many African households consist of women and children. Often times fathers are away from their families for months at a time, during which both spouses see other people. Polygamy is also common, with fathers not investing much in their offspring.

  12. I don’t know what it looks like amongst black Latins or Caribbeans.
It looks much the same. In the Caribbean, there is outright abandonment of women and children by men. The out-of-wedlock birth rates are very similar to the rate in the US. The late James Q. Wilson noted:
In many nations in the Western Hemisphere–in Barbados,Jamaica, Antigua, Martinique, Suriname, Trinidad, as well as in the United States–black children are likely to grow up in a single-parent family. Most of these places acquired independence from an imperial ruler many decades ago (in Haiti, two
centuries ago). In almost every West Indian nation, black leaders responsive to black electorates came to power. Yet the out-of-wedlock birth rate in these places is very high. In Barbados, at the time of its 1990 census, only 30 percent of mothers between the ages of 15 and 49 were married. Of the
unmarried mothers, a few–roughly 3 percent–were divorced, but the vast majority had never been married. Much the same story exists in every West Indian nation where the illegitimacy
rate ranges from 35 to 72 percent.

  13. I can imagine no worse situation than being a Black kid raised by a poor single mother where the only male role models are thuggish rappers and drug dealers.
Surely you jest. You can think of no worse situation? How about being raised in a nuclear family of average income in Lagos?
Now these jobs are almost all entirely done by Mexicans illegally in the country. This was a huge issue in the rebuilding of New Orleans after Katrina. There were a lot of Blacks out of work that wanted those construction jobs, and they were livid that they were going to Mexicans who aren’t even citizens and don’t even have any roots in the city.
This was a terrible tragedy. It was as if the state, local and federal government had gone out of their way to punish blacks. And the beat goes on with the Obamanator’s Administrative Amnesty. This act was a travesty of a mockery of a sham.

  14. How can anyone not feel their pain?
Easily, evidently. The President of the US just side-stepped the Constitution and legalized the presence of millions of illegal aliens without any compunction whatsoever. If it is good enough for BHO it is good enough for the average Joe.
I wish things had stayed with equity feminism, and we could’ve left it there. But it then evolved into an assault on gender roles and gender as some sort of social construct rather than biological reality.
This is wishful thinking. The assault on gender roles was inevitable. Just as the Civil Rights movement evolved into the Black Rights movement, equity feminism could not have stopped at barring discrimination against women because of the disparity in achievement in various endeavors between the sexes. Sexual differences HAVE to be denied just as racial differences HAVE to be denied.

  15. I really think a lot of the hindrances of the single motherhood is poverty induced.
If you had a rich single mother, of any race, these problems probably wouldn’t exist.
Even a poor White single mother would probably struggle too. So would a poor single father of any race.

  16. Robert, I noticed you called Tulio young, even though he is in his 30s. Which age ranges do you consider as young? Did that also change with your age?

  17. Neo Nazis and the like totally ignore the fact no dads are around black homes. That would massively hurt their “blacks are genetically inferior” mantra.
Also, you could say the same about this article’s comment on rap music – obviously a cultural influence – but I suppose racists would do a spin on that and say – the genetics caused the music creation.

    1. That 70% fatherless rate in the Black community is like a time bomb that keeps going off in their communities every day. I honestly think a lot of the problems of Black America are down to this simple problem. And of course it is an environmental influence.

      1. While in the E+G and interactive model it would be an environmental varaible, reality only has one outcome out of the possible. Conspiracies of the upper class and the whole societies behavior based on population size, capital, legitemacy of the government and military power (just to name a few) makes “fixing” issues hard there is great incentive for the upper class to do so, which is not something the upper class controls but material conditions and military power control it.
Africa would probably be 3-7 times more developed of it wasnt for people’s rational goal not being to make the economy as productive as possible.

  18. I have a strong suspicion alt-right types never had a dad or strong dad figure. That’s why their such asshoes – obsessed with masculinity. They want a lost daddy – just as much as woman given to prostitution.

You can’t force successful blacks to be around other blacks. This is just another pro-segregation black argument.
Bottom line nobody owes the poor blacks anything – including the ones doing well.

    1. Segregation amounted to a police state. So these Black Muslim types would succumb America to that – just to “care for it’s own”?
Sorry but white thieves are not the problem of good white people – black thieves are not the problem of good black people.

    2. Sure but that vast quantity of successful and well-behaved Blacks which served as good role models up and taking off once again was like a bomb hitting the community.
A Black boy in the ghetto grows and sees role models around him – drug dealers and pimps. A Black girl in this community grows up and sees role models around her – prostitutes, often streetwalkers.
There’s a serious problem right there – the successful role models have been blown to smithereens.

    3. Owing is just an social construct.
By fixing the poor blacks, the rich ones are going to be seen as better in return. Collectivism>individualism.

      1. Collectivism doesnt need to mean racial favoratism, so im not saying that blacks should look out for other blacks, but that in americas racist society it would be beneficiall for all blacks longterm.
To make blacks behave better might also encourage true integration, so then there wouldnt be any racial favoratism but american favoratism.
