Republican Fascist Dogs Threaten to Impeach Obama

Via WorldNet Daily, a fascist Republican publication. The definition of a fascist is a far rightwing, anti-democratic movement. The Republican Party is an extreme rightwing party. And they are anti-democratic. Therefore, they are fascist. The latest hostage-taking in Congress, threatening to ruin the US and world economy in order to destroy the safety net and savage the state, was reminiscent of the Nazis walking out en masse of the Reichstag when they could not get their way. It was a very fascist and anti-democratic act.

The Republican Party has been objectively fascist since the Bill Clinton Administration. Shutting down the government was a fascist act. Fascist Republicans are still shutting down the government, a fascist act. Attempting to impeach Clinton for nothing was very much a fascist act.

Now the Republicans are threatening to impeach Obama.

Perhaps one reason why Obama did not use the 14th Amendment to get rid of the idiotic debt ceiling is because Republicans threatened to impeach him over it. There is no legitimate reason to impeach Obama over using the 14th Amendment to override a debt ceiling, since it’s arguably Constitutional.

It would have to be settled in the courts, and it would go all the way to the Supreme Court. But the Supreme Court has many fascist members who participated in the fascist and illegal Bush vs. Gore decision, in which they permitted a rightwing candidate, George Bush, to steal the election from the Democrat, Al Gore, for ideological reasons.

It’s arguable that the Libya War is grounds for impeachment. Presidents have been violating the War Powers Act in every war for decades now. Congress has basically abdicated its role in the declaration of war to the Executive. It sucks, but what can you do about it?

I do not know enough about the refusal to defend DOMA in court, and whether or not that is an impeachable act.

Impeachment proceedings are a last act, to be used only in very extreme circumstances. Republicans have now decided that they will try to impeach every Democratic President who makes it into office. That’s abusive, and it’s an act of a fascist party.

As we can see in the article, the Republican fascists are thinking of using impeachment proceedings simply to tie Obama’s hands so he can’t do anything more for the rest of the Administration. That’s a fascist act right there. The Republicans fundamentally do not recognize the right of any Democratic President to govern. That’s fascist right there – it’s anti-democratic.

Note that Democrats never threaten to impeach anyone, because they are a party of wimps.

Impeachment usually represents a punitive act following the commission of a crime, but some are looking to it as a last means of self-defense. At a Tea Party town hall meeting last night Rep. Michael Burgess, R-TX, said impeachment “needs to happen” to stop Barack Obama from inflicting more “damage” on this country.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram claims an attendee “suggested that the House push for impeachment proceedings against President Barack Obama to obstruct the president from pushing his agenda.” Burgess, who represents four counties in northern Texas, responded: “It needs to happen, and I agree with you it would tie things up. No question about that.” He later stood by his comment. “We need to tie things up. The longer we allow the damage to continue unchecked, the worse things are going to be for us.”

Burgess made his comments at a town hall meeting with the NE Tarrant Tea Party Tuesday evening in Denton, Texas.

The Star-Telegram adds, “Burgess said he wasn’t sure whether the proper charges to bring up articles of impeachment against Obama were there.” Since the reporter does not quote Congressman Burgess nor elaborate on this sentence, it is uncertain whether Burgess said he was not sure Obama had committed an impeachable offense or whether the charges could pass the Democrat-controlled Senate. While there are ample grounds for impeachment, it would take intense citizen pressure to force senators to vote for conviction.

The event was broadcast live on UStream, but it is not yet archived on the Congressman’s video page. If you have more information about — or video of — this incident, please contact me.

Whatever the circumstances surrounding Burgess’ words, he is part of a significant and growing number of Congressmen willing to see Obama removed from office. Early last month Rep. Tim Scott, R-SC, told the Tea Party group LowCountry 9.12 if Obama invoked the 14th Amendment to raise the debt ceiling, it would be “an impeachable act.” The next day, Texas Republican Pete Olson said Scott is “not a lonely voice” on impeachment. Obama promptly backed off the scheme.

Rep. Trent Franks, R-AZ, became the first sitting Congressman to raise the possibility of impeaching Obama over his refusal to defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The Justice Department is currently fighting against DOMA in the courts.

A number of Republican presidential candidates are also on board. Newt Gingrich warned Obama about possible impeachment if he refused to defend DOMA. Ron Paul said forthrightly the war in Libya is “an impeachable offense,” although he later sought to distance himself from his statement. Last Monday when a questioner asked Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman if the Libya war is impeachable, Huntsman responded, “I’ll let Congress make that decision.”

Burgess received some flack from the meeting because he was one of only seven Texas Republicans in the House to vote for the debt ceiling deal. He shrewdly warned Reuters news service last week that the plan’s “spending reductions do not go far enough” to satisfy Standard & Poor’s requirements to maintain our AAA credit rating. He also raised concerns over the “Super Congress” the bill establishes.

A medical doctor, Burgess wrote a book-length refutation of ObamaCare, published by WND Books, entitled, Doctor in the House: A Physician-Turned-Congressman Offers His Prescription for Scrapping Obamacare…And Saving America’s Medical System. It carries a foreword by Newt Gingrich and an endorsement by Ron Paul.

Now it seems the three agree impeachment should be on the table for America’s most radical president.

  1. Oh come ON, Robert. Please^3, repeated THRICE you can do much better than this. To start with. WorldNetWHO? Links to this or it didn’t happen. And even if it did, the only (Liberaterian) voice who matters there is Ron Paul. And you read how reticent he is about impeaching, even though I agreed with him.

The other thing you need to understand is what Articles of Impeachment actually *are*:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment

They are not some magic recipe that “removes the POTUS from office”… They are lengthy multi-step motions for censure, a written note to the POTUS that ‘you’re out of line’. They *may* open the door to much further investigations and MAYBE even to indictments –which was to be the case for Nixon, who HAD something to hide, hence his quick resignation. But in the US they don’t necessary lead to removal from office.

Personally I *do* want Barack Obama with an on-the-record *censure* for the Libyan War. I *do* want investigations into some of his other actions by auto-pen. And come 2012 I *do* want this Bankers’ puppet voted out of office. I also wanted this of George Bush when his justifications for war wore thin, as well as his record on torture (not to mention that Devil’s Island beyond law called Gitmo). Again, ‘Impeachment’ is not some magic ‘Remove the Bad POTUS’ elixir. But it DOES tend to work on folks who are allergic to the sunlight of truth. The real question is, is Barry one of those? George W. Bush certainly was, and (as the NoAgenda guys would say) “George W. Obama” may be no different. Same policies, different guy.

I think that you’re assigning too much power to these FoxNews GOP types like Gingrich & his bluster. *I* certainly will not be voting for him if his name is on the ticket. When these guys bring up “the Left” and start spouting “RINO” or “Alinsky tactics” or or or it just falls on my deaf ears (eyes? I read more).

The Debt Ceiling is another matter, and again, bluster. It’s to Congress to enact the laws to raise or lower the debt ceiling, and if they feel that Obama oversteps his bounds, they can (but probably won’t) move to *censure* him, with, what’s that magic word? Bueller? That’s one of the ‘checks’ in the arsenal of Legislative Checks & Balances that has HARDLY been used.

    1. The debt ceiling is arguably unconstitutional as per the 14 Amendment. That’s how Obama could have circumvented it. Congress may well have had no right to put that law in in the first place as 14th Amendment seems to disallow such a law.

  2. He made a lot of promises and he kept a lot of them but my biggest problem with his and the politicians is this. They want to put that poor bastard who released all that info, to wiki leaks and they say he jeopardized national security. What about all the wall street bankers who have, out of greed wrecked this country to the ground. To this day Americans are still paying for it.

If these bankers were in prison for the rest of their life I guarantee you wall street would have asked for regulation to protect themselves. There was nothing in the constitution about lobbyists and as long as we have lobbyist padding their pockets and they can keep making loopholes that benefit them nothing will ever change. Term limits would do away with a lot of the problems. The politicians in this country are a joke and the only thing they care about is themselves. They care nothing about this country and as far as I am concerned we should send the exterminators to Washington and clean out the cockroaches.

The debt ceiling all I have seen is a bunch of republicans trying to shit on the week and make the rich richer, at the expense of the poor. We have 14 million people unemployed and for the last 30 yrs all we have done is send all our jobs over seize and we wonder why there is no jobs in this country don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out. The debt ceiling problem if you think it is going to go away your stupid because this country is headed for insolvency. All we do is give our $ to other countries and all we do is take it in the ass.

  3. First of all, we support small business here. But we also support a very strong safety net. Believe it or not, hardcore socialists like me believe that everyone must work. Those who refuse to work are guilty of parasitism. Be that as it may, but if you don’t want to work for your check, then you don’t get one. The capitalist sector is currently not providing enough jobs for 10-20% of the population. Therefore, the state must support those folks or offer them some sort of a state job. My position has always been that if you want a state check and are able-bodied, give them a make work state job to get the check. Give them a broom and make them sweep the streets. So they stand around all day. So what. At least they are out of the house, on the job and not causing trouble.

I do not believe that our miserable safety net needs to be cut even more, that is what entitlement reform is all about. You can’t even live on a SS check as it is. Like Hell it needs to be cut even more. Forget more. We are far from a fat and wealthy welfare state. We are the measliest, skimpiest welfare state on the block. Medicare is not enough as it is, it needs to be expanded, not cut. Keep in mind that Medicare and SS are not entitlements anyway, they are insurance policies. People pay an insurance premium and take it out at the end when they retire. Nobody is leaching off anyone else.

I have a hard time time believing that a restaurant owner can’t make it in this day and age. I just came back from Pismo Beach, California, and there was an open restaurant every few stores or so. And most of them seemed to be doing quite all right.

Government employees are not the problem.

No to a flat tax. The rich must pay more.

No to IRS bashing. We are hardly an overtaxed people. We among the lowest taxed of the industrialized nations.

Eliminating payroll taxes will eliminate Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. That’s what payroll taxes fund. Forget that.

You can’t make it on $130K year? Come on, man. My neighbors are hard working Whites who can’t find work and are so broke they don’t even drive cars anymore. You can’t make it on $130K? Cry me a river.

  4. Well said James. I have a cousin who is as healthy as I am and he laughed in my face that I work so hard and he has not had to work in 40 years due to a leg ‘injury’. I am now 72, still working and he is 75 and still laughing.
