Europe is Burning – 2010

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koa1B1ls2hg&feature=player_embedded]
Neoliberal economics blew up the US economy, then went on to ruin the economies of the nations of Europe. Senseless austerity measures were implemented across the board on the backs of the people in order to cover the ultra-rich who made bad bets on banks and whatnot. Riots spread across the continent – Greece, Italy, France and the UK. This video shows just how violent these proletarian, populist riots against the rich and the corporations were.
It’s interesting that our media has blacked out most footage of these riots because it is their criminal corporate oligarchical class that is being targeted.

      1. Yeah, the only rioting and revolution here will be rightwing rioting and a rightwing revolution.
Utterly insane…Isn’t it? I see a uniquely American version of fascism on the horizon.

        1. “I see a uniquely American version of fascism on the horizon.”
Ah yes, fascism everywhere. Great. Now we can have phantom racism and phantom fascism. Oh joy! Merry Christmas Tim Wise! (Oh sorry, didn;t mean to offend you and your fake jewishness Timmy.)

        2. “I think you are kinda hung up on “race” there, Wade.”
How so? All you left-socialist types are always calling everthing fascist and racist so you’re the last ones who should say someone is hung up on race.

      2. ” We are already seeing it, at least the revolution (Tea Party).”
I guess if you define rightwing as capitalist sellout the you might be seeing a “revolution.” Of course this “revolution” is just more of the same bullshit put on the pubilc by Obama, Bush, Clinton, Reagan,…you get the point.
Though I personally don’t like the “Northwest Homeland” type people they may have somewhat of the right idea. Let’s face it, the poor of different racial backrounds in this country are not going to agree as long as there are racial preferences around. The black, latinos, indians, etc. will all support racial quotas while any same white person will be against them. This is why the rich enacted these programs as well as their immigration policies. Sepeartion might be the only way for working class people to achieve progress. Then the proletariat of each country can revolt without the rich turning one group against the other with divisive programs. It may seem unpalatable to people, but I’m begining to think that it may be the only way.

        1. Rightwing revolutionary movements tend to be more or less fascist in one way or another. Rightwing populism also has fascist tendencies.
Tea Party is strange because it has Libertarian tendencies, but not really. They are actually just corporate authoritarians.

        2. “Tea Party is strange because it has Libertarian tendencies, but not really. They are actually just corporate authoritarians.”
That’s exactly wha tI’ve been saying to people. Libertarian fascism?? Please. The other thing that gets me is when people say that the Confederacy was fascist or nazi. Obvously it wasn’t anything like it. It was a CONFEDERACY, so obviously it couldn’t be an extremely centralized state like Nazi Germany. People need to get their names right.
The other problem is the term “rightwing”. I am in no way a capitalist nor do I support the rich, but I would call myself rightwing in that I oppose multiculturlism, fag marriage, and other nonsense.
“Rightwing populism also has fascist tendencies. ”
Well, my understanding of fascism is that one of its points is class cooperation whereas I support working class solidarity. Eventually there may be some unity, but this new upper class would not be seperated monetarily from the working class by a large amount. Their “upper classness” would come more from the types of jobs they did rather than the amount of money they have.
Amongst people who know what they’re talking about I don;t mind being called a fascist in some ways. People just need to understand that not all fascists were nazis and not all people influenced by fascists are nazis. Even with the Nazis though, you have to give them some credit. When American was in the shit in the 1930s Germany was actually doing well if I remeber correctly.

        3. “Racial separatism will never happen in the US. Never.”
Yes, I agree. This is why I think we are doomed to some sort of neoclassical economic system for long into the future, no matter how shitty things get. Frankly, the idea of racial seperation doesn’t excite me that much, but I honestly can’t see anything else working. I know that I will never support some affirmative action revolution and the minorities will never support any sort of working class revolution that doesn’t give them a bunch of special handouts that they don’t deserve.

        4. wade fascism is an extreme form of socialism.
then again maybe it’s closer to an extreme form of communism. Since in fascism everything belongs to the state or the citizens should be willing to give everything to the state if asked. The state is owned by its’ citizens.
          aw never mind.
*chic noir slaps self for trying to be cleaver thereby giving herself a headache*

        5. wade, the proletariat can and will still be divided because it’s the way human beings behave. par exampla, poor whites don’t share the same religion. So religions differences can be used by the elites to exploit the the masses.

        6. wade fascism is an extreme form of socialism.
No, but that is a common diatribe, often repeated on the extreme American right noways. They ideologies are diametrically opposed to one another. Any semblance between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union has everything to do with the appearance of a totalitarian state, and nothing to do with notions of a basic economic system.

If you think the fascists and communists have much in common, you may want to re-read your history of the Eastern Front, circa WWII. About thirty million dead people might disagree. 😀

        7. “wade fascism is an extreme form of socialism.
then again maybe it’s closer to an extreme form of communism.”
I hate to be an ass, but you really don;t know what you;re talking about. Fascism as a form of communism? LOL!
” Since in fascism everything belongs to the state or the citizens should be willing to give everything to the state if asked.”
Actually, under communism everything is owned by the state. In practice, much of the US is owned by the state in a way and the state is owned by the rich. You may have a deed, but if someone rich and connected wants your land he/she will find some public official to take it by eminent domain. Also, there are rules on what you can buy and sell in the US. For example, a few years ago a comapany called Dubai Ports World tried to by several major US ports and was blocked by congress. Also, the US has prevented the chinese from buying several strategic resources in the US like oil deposits.
“The state is owned by its’ citizens.”
And what exactly is wrong with that?

        8. “If you think the fascists and communists have much in common, you may want to re-read your history of the Eastern Front, circa WWII. About thirty million dead people might disagree”
I agree with the first part of your post, but I don;t think the part I quoted really proves anything. Are you saying that two countries with similar forms of government can’t fight one another? What about the Sino-Soviet split? However, yes I agree with the comment that fascism and communism are not alike, but they’re both better than libertarianism.

        9. “wade, the proletariat can and will still be divided because it’s the way human beings behave. par exampla, poor whites don’t share the same religion”
Exactly, so why promote multiculturalism and mass immigration when it just adds another major point of division? Also, they elite know that they can make people feel bad about racial and ethnic discrimination because of the nature of american society. It’s harder to do so in cases of religion and other matters.

        10. No Wade, I am simply alluding to the virulent hatred between Nazi and Bolshevik. The end result…30 million dead.
By comparison, Russia and Germany had at it in WWI. Russia lost. It was a “soldiers” war. The end game was not the utter eradication of the “other.”

        11. “No Wade, I am simply alluding to the virulent hatred between Nazi and Bolshevik. The end result…30 million dead.”
The hatred between Nazi and Bolshevik was just a surface conflict. The real underlying conflict was between German and Russian which had been going on for long before WWII. 30 million dead is just a result of more advanced techonology and policies based on nazi race hatred. In the begining of WWII the nazis and communists had actually signed a pact. When Hitler invaded the northern part of Poland, the Soviets went into the south. Hitler eventually turned easts not because he didn;t trust bolshevism, but because he didn’t trust the Soviet Union (the new Russian state).
Deaths may be based on nazi race policiy, but race policy is not necessarily a part of fascism. I’ve heard that the fascists in Brazil, called Integralists, were non-racial. Also Italy was supposedly much more jew friendly than Germany despite being fascist. In Portugal the government actually argued that it was a better colonizer than the rest of Europe because they were somewhat more prone to miscegination and somewhat closer to africans than the rest of the continent. See this:
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lusotropicalism
          Brazilian Integralism:
          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_Integralism
          From the article:
” the movement had adopted some characteristics of European mass movements of those times, specifically of the Italian Fascism, but differentiating itself from some forms of fascism in that Salgado did not preach racism. As a matter of fact, they even had as their slogan: “Union of all races and all peoples”, although many of its militants adopted anti-semitic views.”
I believe that the last part of the passage ” although many of its militants adopted anti-semitic views” is extremely important in forming any type of society that is harmonious and not lecherous.
I feel like a hack for quoting wikipedia, but oh well….

        12. Well Wade, there is no doubt about the intrepid Germanic/Slavic racial hatred towards one another. Perhaps it was a “race war” dressed in the guise of an ideological struggle. The same could be said about. The Iran-Iraq War also comes to mind as such.

        13. ” Perhaps it was a “race war” dressed in the guise of an ideological struggle.”
I don;t think many, if any, wars are really due to ideology, religion, or some humanitarian action. It seems to me that most wars are just cases of “dueling elites”. I think it was Clausewitz that said war is just a continuation of politics by other means. Of course each country has different politics based on different histories and cultures, which will give massive wars a more racial/cultural edge. I guess that to some degree monarchy is a much more peaceful form of government because monarchies were not ususally something national and different kings wanted to preserve their posessions instead of racial/national war that wants to destroy the enemy completely.
“The same could be said about. The Iran-Iraq War also comes to mind as such.”
Yeah. What I often wonder about is the Korean Peninsula. I’ve heard interviews with Koreans where they say they’re will not be a war because they are of the same blood. I also doubt that Kim Jung Il really cares all that much about communism, but rather more about his own position and power. That still doesn’t mean that north and south Korea won’t go at it though, especially if China and the US has thier way. They US was ok with tearing apart Vietnam and war in divided Germany was a constant threat. If it does happen I wonder how brutal it would be. Part of me thinks that they will try to keep it as civil as a war can be. However, sometimes people lash out at those closest to them the most violently.

      3. You know something else… The police looked to be rather harmless in that video but I would not expect American police to be so docile if the student protests during the 60’s are anything to go by.
and you’re right about the tea party.

    1. “Americans will never do this unless the majority unite to kill us colords.”
Not gonna happen, sweetie. No majority ain’t ever gonna unite to kill no NAMs.

  1. “Diversity is the engine that drives this country. We are an immigrant nation.
The first generation works their fingers to the bone, making things. The next
generation goes to college and innovates new ideas. The third generation…
snowboards and takes improv classes. We always need people that are pulling
    themselves up by their bootstraps.”
    – Jack Donaghy, 30 Rock

I read this somewhere give you take guys.

  2. Wade in MO The state is owned by its’ citizens.”
And what exactly is wrong with that?

Not a thing my sweet .
Wade I hate to be an ass, but you really don;t know what you;re talking about. Fascism as a form of communism? LOL!
No problem since your breath smells like shit anyway.
    Just kidding just kidding.
*chic noir gives wade a hug*
Didn’t you read all of my skit? I knew it didn’t make since.

  3. Wade You may have a deed, but if someone rich and connected wants your land he/she will find some public official to take it by eminent domain
You are correct. The Supreme Court opened eminent domain up to include corporations not so long ago. So if Wal-Mart wants you land to build a store they can.
Wade For example, a few years ago a company called Dubai Ports World tried to by several major US ports and was blocked by congress.
IIRC, didn’t Bush raise hell about this? I believe he called Americans who were against the sale racist.
Cyrus No, but that is a common diatribe, often repeated on the extreme American right noways
Yes, I’ve seen the two used interchangeably in something I was reading a few days ago.

    1. “IIRC, didn’t Bush raise hell about this? I believe he called Americans who were against the sale racist. ”
Yes he did. Hypocrisy in american politics is always so blatant and funny. Democrats opposed arabs simply owning a few ports while calling people they perceive to be republicans racist because they don’t want to ride on planes with them. Something similar could be said about the republicans.
“*chic noir gives wade a hug*”
Wade in MO feels up Chic noir while she hugs him.

      1. Hypocrisy in american politics is always so blatant and funny. Democrats opposed arabs simply owning a few ports while calling people they perceive to be republicans racist because they don’t want to ride on planes with them.
        Yup.

    2. Kind of how like right-winger always try an state they are the “party of Lincoln,” and the ones truly behind the Civil Rights movement, etc, etc. Ignoring about a century if political and social history in between.
      Delusional, to say the least.

  4. The “riots” are nothing. In the Philippines, we sometimes get shot at:
    [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loVBDjFxbdM&fs=1&hl=en_US]

  5. The Soviet Union did not represent Slavs at all. The Jewish elite there murdered Slavs and destroyed their culture. The Eastern Front was a war between German National Socialists and Jewish Commies. The Slavs were meant to be liberated from their kike commie masters.
