I Will Never Vote for Barack Obama Again

Simple reason. I don’t vote for Republicans. I’ve never voted for a Republican in my life. Never. Barack Obama is a Republican. He’s not even a moderate Republican. Moderate Republicans are Rockefeller Republicans. Rockefeller Republicans don’t believe in supply side economics. That all started with Ronald Reagan. As Barack Obama is a died in the wool supply sider. Therefore Barack Obama is a Reagan Republican. Barack Obama, Reagan’s true heir. Screw that!

  1. I disagree.
Barack Obama is a political nothing; he does whatever will work for the expediencies of the moment. Presidential nominees out of Congress have usually been familiar politicians for 20+ years (McCain, Kerry, Gore, Dole). Obama has an appealing biography and reads a teleprompter well, so someone(s) decided they’d groom him to be President by having him make the keynote speech at the 2004 convention, while he was an ex-state legislator running for the Senate.
EVERYONE keeps speculating what his “real beliefs” are, because he doesn’t have the track record a President should.

  2. “so someone(s) decided they’d groom him to be President by having him make the keynote speech at the 2004 convention”
This never occurred to me before. Could that be why he was picked to do the keynote speech? I never thought about it before but it kind of seems plausible in hind sight. I remember telling myself after hearing it that he would be the first Black President although I could not imagine that it would only be 4 years later. I had never heard of him before that and knew nothing about him but still had that feeling that he would President eventually.
I think I may have learned something new today.

    1. That’s basically what happened with GWB. From what I understand, initially he wasn’t even interested in running for President. He was talked into it.
I think Obama came in as an idealist really thinking he’d make sweeping changes, but doesn’t have the experience of politics at his level. He grossly underestimated how the machine works and the difficulty of getting things through Blue Dog democrats and Republicans. I understand that Obama has no choice but to compromise on a lot of shit now. Blame your neighbor that sent Republicans to congress. My problem with Obama is that he doesn’t have much fight in him. He’s not pushing back or trying to make life hell for the Republicans.
He’s not a Republican. Quit saying that. Republicans don’t want to keep extending jobless benefits or want any sort of healthcare reform whatsoever. If he was a Republican we’d probably have troops in Iran right now. We’d be drilling off the coast of California. We wouldn’t have expanded Pell Grants to low income students. Or repealed Bush’s restrictions of stem cell research, or done anything to insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions? Okay, don’t vote for Obama in 2012. We can all stay home and let Sarah Palin get elected, then we’ll be so much happier for sticking it to Obama.
ps – I don’t understand why some many anti-Obamists keep mentioning that he reads a teleprompter. Like this is something new for heads of state. What’s the big deal?

  3. I will not be voting for him either, not matter what, come 2012. I’ll just leave that part blank.
I’m sick of this two-faced, effeminate bastard doing the dirty work of the extreme right, all the while throwing around marketing catch phrases like “hope” and the like. He had is chance, and he blew it…
Here are two articles that really pissed me off reading today. Just made want to rape a teddy bear:

  4. “ps – I don’t understand why some many anti-Obamists keep mentioning that he reads a teleprompter. Like this is something new for heads of state. What’s the big deal?”
The point is that it’s his central skill. He doesn’t seem to have any coherent political philosophy and doesn’t sound nearly as articulate when not rehearsed. People call him (or used to) things like “transformational” solely for sounding good reading speeches.
