Wade offers an explanation for Obama’s puzzling behavior, which makes no sense at all if you see him as a liberal Democrat, because he’s clearly not one. That Republicans call him a socialist or a Communist is some kind of a sick joke.
RL: The movement towards a European style social democracy with the rich scum finally constrained and the working man finally able to get a fair slice of pie was too much for Barack.
Wade: The problem here is that the colored bourgeois is just as hostile to the lower classes as the white bourgeois. The want to harness minority anger and resentment and channel it into support for them which they’ll use to get more minority programs that they can position themselves in as the main beneficiaries. They don’t want to overturn the system, they just want to be cut in.
You’re right. Barack Obama is a Black member of the plutocracy. He’s pro-plutocrat because he’s a plutocrat himself. He wages war on the lower classes because that’s what Barack’s ultra-wealthy top 1% do – wage class war. The fact that he is Black is accidental. What’s really important is Barack’s class. He’s a rich Black man, and he pushes the politics of the rich the same as any rich White man would do.
” The fact that he is Black is accidental.”
It’s a blaccident.
” He’s pro-plutocrat because he’s a plutocrat himself”
I believe this is true. I also believe that it has bad consequences for the future. Can anyone who is not a plutocrat get elected in America? Sure, Bernie Sanders in Vermont. OK there’s one. But Vermont is a small state that is relatively homogenous and I don’t think the rich think it is as important than states like Texas or California. I think the rich may have found their best friend in american democracy. Their goals can easily be achieved if the don’t fuck up way too bad and the have the illusion of consent from the populace. I really doubt that democracy can change much. Did the tsar like it when people started making demands the autocracy didn’t like after 1905? Of course not. He tried to get in the way of everything they tried to do. We all know how that ended up for him though.
Excellent.
The want to harness minority anger and resentment and channel it into support for them which they’ll use to get more minority programs that they can position themselves in as the main beneficiaries.
And it certainly does not help that much of his voter base is composed of sycophantic, ignorant knee-jerk supporters.
