I’ve come to realize that most non-whites really are not that progressive.
Oh sure, they’re “progressive” on racial issues that directly affect them. But in general, they’re not.
I think Ta-Nehisi Coates (who’s progressive enough for you) put it best, when referring to many socially conservative blacks who vote Democrat: “He doesn’t vote Democrat out of any love for progressive taxation or abortion, but because he thinks, in fact he knows, that the Republicans derive support from people who hate him.”
In other words, blacks and other non-whites are mainly Democrats for purely racial reasons, not out of any noble class consciousness.
Blacks know that a lot of Republicans are just a bunch of White racist assholes. Also, Blacks are usually not on this low tax fad diet. Blacks often support raising taxes. Blacks support government programs. They like Big Government. They have no fetish for limited or small government or any of that crap. Blacks also don’t have a lot of money in the US and they are mostly just working class people.
As the White nationalists say, Blacks are naturally socialist. A bit of an exaggeration, but it’s true. And Blacks are for income transfer. White politics opposes what they see as transfer of White money via taxation to worthless, criminal, lazy Blacks. Blacks, sensibly enough, support this transfer and wealth redistribution in general since it is in their interest. For all these reasons, it’s logical of them to vote Democrat.
I bet you will find a Hell of a lot more support for progressive taxation among Blacks too than among Whites. Blacks don’t have this insane love of their rich class enemies or their corporate class enemies as Whites do. Not are Blacks as patriotardic as Whites. Blacks are pretty dubious about American jingoism.
Where there are problems is with socially conservative religious Blacks, but even there, they just vote for us anyway. And yes, Blacks support abortion much more than Whites. Ever seen a Black face in the anti-abortion movement? All a bunch of idiot Whites, mostly White men.

Yeah, but rich Blacks are progressive people, so they are not the class enemies of the rest of the Blacks. There is no class war in Black society. Everyone is a progressive person.

Pissed at an economy whose true unemployment rate is nearly 20%. Pissed at a president who rammed socialist health care down their throats in spite of polls saying over 70% of americans were against it. Pissed at a congress that increased the national debt by more than $2.5 trillion in less than two years while saying it’s “bush’s fault”. Voters kicked the GOP out for stupid wars and stupid spending. And now they did it to the Dems.
If “white nationalists” are calling it “racial” then I don’t think they’re right at all. It may be racial to them but the rest of the country didn’t vote for a black guy just to vote against him two years later. Now, personally, I think it was foolish to vote for a socialist who clearly had racial issues ie attended a racist church, employed NOI staff, made racist comments, etc. But that’s just my opinon. It has no bearing on what the other millions of voters think.
The only reason I think it’s racial to YOU is because you’re angry and looking for someone to blame. You thought your la Revolucion was finally here so now you’re raging that it’s not. And it’s easier for you to blame “racism” than the fact that the Dems have been very bad for the economy and the country and the American people just DON’T. WANT. SOCIALISM.

The departure of several key team members just before the election was a tell. I could have been behind some of the bank bailouts if they actually put limits on the money (for example AIG they paid off claim holders. (US and European banks..) at 100 cents on the dollar…internal memos from Goldman Sachs apparently indicated they would be happy with $0.33 on the dollar…if the US had allowed AIG to go bankrupt those entities may have gotten nothing….) Record bank bonuses in the year after the crash (the bonuses were effectively paid by the US taxpayer..) were a slap in the face of US public. I can’t imagine someone like Harry Truman letting that happen. Obama cuts a good figure and is a good speaker, but unfortunately not a great fighter.
Republican whites are mainly angry cause most blacks can’t earn a large income, therefore, any tax revenue given to blacks, ultimately, comes from whites. Therefore, whites are keeping blacks up, as pets. However, the argument doesn’t make sense, cause so called “working class whites” and the “rich” are also keeping up huge scores of whites as pets.
Now this is just their view. I don’t agree with it totally, and see nothing wrong with government programs. Especially we need positive government programs like education, so people can function in society, and have less need for “non-educational government programs”.
