Genocide Damage, One Century On

A commenter notes that Armenians resemble Jews phenotyically. In fact, he is correct. And they often act like Jews too. Armenians have a reputation for being aggressive traders, shopowners and businessmen and often formed a business elite in the Ottoman Empire in a role similar to that played by Jews. A friend of mine in New York grew up near Armenians and said they called Armenians “Jews without money.”

I ran into several Armenians at a shopping mall last week, and they looked identical to Jews! Curly hair, nose, swarthy complexion, you name it.

I don’t mind these people – we have many of them around here – but they can be difficult. They can be aggressive, obnoxious, loud, rude, in your face, rather unpleasant, sort of like the stereotype of belligerent and pushy Jew. They can also be paranoid. Sometimes you ask them if they are Armenian, and they look at you like they’re afraid you’re going to kill them. Armenians, like Jews, often think you secretly hate them and maybe want to kill them.

So, just like Jews, paranoid and hostile.

These genocides don’t do these ethnic groups any favors. Besides the obvious tragedy of the mass deaths, the group is still totally fucked up by paranoia and reactive associated hostility even a century later. It’s bad enough the murderers killed those people, but even their descendants are still fucked in the head by what happened a century ago.

It’s so sad…

  1. Yah, Armenians have the same victim complex that the Jews have. Exactly the same in fact, with all it’s wonderful insecure irrationality wrapped up under a blanket of ethnic nationalist extremism.

You should have read some of the wonderful postings by Armenians on other sites, during the Uighur riots in China last year. These little psychos wanted every Uighur dead, because in their minds, Uighur = Turkish, and Uighurs are Muslim. They must die!

Good grief…Reminds me of some Jewish folks I know. Indians to, but Indians lack the testicular fortitude to do anything beyond talking about it. 🙂

On a side note, I always thought Armenians and Persians looked very similar, but everyone tells me I’m wrong. Not sure why. Most people in LA can’t tell the difference.

    1. IOW, ethic nationalism makes you insane. That’s ridiculous about the Uighurs. They’re a persecuted minority just like the Jews are. Funny, older Armenians meet me, find out I’m not married, then try to fix me up with Armenian girls. LOL. Most of the “Iranians” around Fresno are actually Armenian Iranians. All Christians, too. Some supported the Shah too. They hate the IRI.

      1. It truly is funny, at least in a sad kind of way. Those Uighurs are culturally very close to Iranians and Afghans, even if they technically speak Turkish. Most Turkish folks who travel to Central Asia are rather taken aback by how different the Turks of Central Asia are from themselves. Not just physically, or even linguistically, but culturally. The Persianate influence is what sticks out to them the most. Much more so than the Russian influence, if you can believe that.

So, much for Turkic brotherhood. I’ll just chalk that one up there with Arab Nationalism.

As for the Armos, I heard the Armenians have been in Fresno for some time. They certainly have a much longer history here in California than the “Persians” do, going back perhaps a century.

No surprise they want to fix you up with one of their daughters. Sort of like that stupid film I was forced to watch against my will; “My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding.” Persians do the exact same thing, at least to an extent. They see a White American guy with a college education. That equals class, success in American society. “Fitting in,” if you will. That literally is the terms they think in. A dude like you = win.

This, as opposed to spoiled-rotten, ungrateful dumb-ass White American women…I have never figured out what they are thinking, or if they even are capable of rational thought.

        1. Uighurs are not persecuted at all. They should be grateful for the Han Chinese modernizing them and bringing them into the 21st century. Yet they go on violent riots.

        2. >They should be grateful for the Han Chinese modernizing them and bringing them into the 21st century

This is not the Han program in Xinjiang.

The Han program is to modernize themselves and leave the Uighurs poor and unmodernized as cheap labor for the Han upper class in Xinjiang. Property and wealth is steadily being transfered from the Uighurs to Han settlers in Xinjiang at no benefit to the native population.

Han are basically the Jews of Xinjiang, only they are less repentant and more direct about what they do. Why do you think anti-Han pogroms happen on a consistent basis in Xinjiang?

        3. That’s a good one Dave, Jews are repentant?
And it’s not like China has any other choice. If they grant independence to Xinjiang, NATO and the Americans will fill the vacuum. Look what happened after the USSR broke apart to see what’s in store for China if they let the Tibetan and Uighurs fall out of their grasp.

        4. That’s a good one Dave, Jews are repentant? And it’s not like China has any other choice. If they grant independence to Xinjiang, NATO and the Americans will fill the vacuum.

Jews are repentant as hell compared with the Han Chinese and how they operate in Xinjiang.

Look, fyp3p: take all the emotion and rage you have directed towards the Jews for what they do in the United States, double it, and this is what the average Uighur in Xinjiang feels towards Han Chinese. I’ve talked to a bunch about it.

Like I said, why do you think they regularly form mass mobs that go out hunting for Han throats to slit? Because they’re “anti-Hannitic”?

You’re totally correct that it’s practical politics on the part of the Han, but that doesn’t make it right. Zionist politics is practical as hell for the Jews, but that doesn’t make it right either.

        5. The proper term is “anti-Sinitic”, coming from “Sino”. The difference is that for China, it’s literally a matter of life and death geopolitics, whereas Jews can afford to stop fucking around and just live comfortably with their ill-gotten wealth, as long they disband groups like AIPAC and the ADL.

        6. Ah yes, Fpy3p…Your parents must be mainland Han Chinese.

I am not going into some defense of the Uighurs, or bash the Chinese over it. The Chinese conquered them fair and square way back when, and now China is modernizing. Americans did it to the Natives, now China is doing the same to it’s own westward natives in Central Asia.

Hell, the Chinese have Uighur script on their cash, as well as Kazakh and Mongol and Tibetan.

          That is not the point.

The real point is, the Uighurs are screwed. They can either become Han, sort of like the Hui Chinese Muslims, stay as state protected ethnic minority and a relic of the past, or move to Uzbekistan, who are ethnically their brothers in every sense.

        7. Actually I’m Korean. And the Americans just simply obliterated the Amerindians, whereas there plenty of Uighurs around to this day.Frankly, China treats the Uihgurs and Tibetans a hell of a lot better than Anglo-Saxons treated the American Indians in the 19th century.

        8. The difference is that for China, it’s literally a matter of life and death geopolitics, whereas Jews can afford to stop fucking around and just live comfortably with their ill-gotten wealth

The same “life and death geopolitics” argument is made by Jews about the existence of Israel, and it’s bullshit in both cases.

China is already bordered by India (US ally with nuclear weapons), Pakistan (US client state with nuclear weapons), Afghanistan (US colony), and Mongolia (NATO ally). Setting up Han colonies in Xinjiang has nothing whatsoever to do with the “life and death existence” of China. It’s all about simply raping the fuck out of the Uighurs, stealing their land, and laughing all the way to the bank while doing it, essentially identical to the situation in Palestine with the Jews.

        9. Well Fpy3p, my bad. You gave a textbook Chinese-American response.

I would argue that the treatment of the Uighurs in the 20th century is very much akin to the treatment of Native Americans in the U.S. Bad in the past, but modern politics requires rapprochement, at least superficially.

In the end, like I said, it does not matter. This is not a “Muslim thing” or a “Turk thing” or whatever.

It is a Chinese thing. They need the land and resources. They got it. The Uighurs as a distinct people are screwed, regardless of the extra befits the Chinese government throws them. I don’t fault the Chinese for that.

What I find ironic in all of this, is what people in Turkey think. Nowadays, them seem to care more about the fucking Palestinians, than there own linguistic cousins.

        10. Pakistan is an ally of China. And Mongolia can’t do shit since it is sandwiched between Russia and China. So you’re saying if China were to grant independence to Xinjiang and Tibet, China would face no new dangers? Why do you think NATO is in Afghanistan in the first place, oh so conveniently close to China’s western border?

        11. Racially, Anatolian Turks are much closer to Palestinians than to semi-Mongoloid Uighurs, regardless of the linguistics.

        12. So you’re saying if China were to grant independence to Xinjiang and Tibet, China would face no new dangers?

No, it is entirely rational and in the best interest of China to colonize Xinjiang and assimilate it into another Han state.

All I’m trying to say is that it’s fucked up, and equivalent morally to all the other parasitic colonial-settler projects that have happened throughout history. You are trying to paint it like it’s not.

  2. Fpry3p, why Palestinians? Turks look different than Palestinians.

    Just ask “Natalie Portman.” 😀

She commented years back that when getting on a flight from Tel Aviv to Istanbul on a Turkish Airways flight, half the flight were Israeli Jews, and half were Israeli Arabs, aka Palestinians.

She could not tell the Jews from the Arabs on that flight, but according to her, the Turkish flight attendants and crew stuck out like a sore thumb. They looked very different.

I concur with her. The Turks look more, well…”White.”

As for Uighurs, they may be “semi-Mongoloid” as you put it, but they sure as hell don’t look Chinese.

    1. Also Fpy39, you might want to look up Pan-Turanism, Pan-Turkism, and Turkish nationalism.

That is why I was alluding to, and why I was surprised about the lack of Turkish public outrage at the events in China last summer.

There was some, out hardly the die-hard outrage one would expect.

    2. That’s strange. Ashkenazi Jews should look more similar to Turks than to Arabs. And of course Uighurs don’t look Chinese, but Anatolian Turks are simply Turkified Mediterraneans, whereas the real Turks in Central Asia are Mongoloid-Aryan mixes.

      1. If anything, similarities between Ashkenazi Jews and Anatolian Turks has as much to do with Eastern European infusion of DNA, than anything else.

As for Central Asian Turks, I oughta know. 🙂

        1. It’s funny because Jews like to associate themselves with the non-Arab peoples of the Middle East, like Persians and Turks, saying that they’re better than those worthless Arabs. Yet you’re saying that on the plane, you couldn’t distinguish between Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews? Priceless.

        2. I can’t tell the difference between Palestinians and Jews a lot of the time.

These Palis really look no different from Jews to me:

          http://www.instablogsimages.com/images/2009/01/05/palestinians_jrl109_L1H5K_16298.jpg

          http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2005/10/28/arts/28para.650.jpg

Jews in general, and Mizrahi in particular, are pretty much indistinguishable from Palestinians.

        3. As I understand it, Ashkenazis were the result of heavy interbreeding between Jews migrating into Europe from the Middle East and the native European populations, primarily Jewish males with native females. Therefore they are more of a European-Arab hybrid.

I’m entirely sure, though. I should read that big post Robert did a while back categorizing all the races of the world by genetic distance.

        4. European admixture was found to be surprisingly low in Ashkenazis. They mixed with Gentiles for the first couple generations and after that they shut the doors. Ashkenazis have been found to be genetically closer to the peoples directly to the north of the Arabs, such as Kurds, Armenians, and Turks, than the Arab neighbors of Jews such as Syrians and Palestinians.

  3. No, moron. I’m not saying that. Natalie Portman, the Israeli-American actress, did.

I don’t give enough of a shit about either Jews or Palestinians to care to tell them apart, at least not without a generous dose of vodka.

    1. Don’t call me a moron just because I mistakenly thought you said something. What are you in a pissy mood or something?

  4. Wow David. Good examples. I couldn’t tell them apart. First was Jewish or Palestinian? How about the second?

The third was definitely Pali, because I saw that movie a few years back. I remembering seeing it at the time with my then Palestinian girlfriend. I remember thinking that those two Arab actors could easily pass as Jewish. I also remember thinking they were portraying assholes. Suicide bombers are assholes in my book.

    1. I’m pretty sure every single one of those pictures I posted is Palestinian. The first is a bunch of Fatah kids, I’m pretty sure.

Suicide bombers are mostly assholes, but I think that movie was pretty well done.

      >my then Palestinian girlfriend

Lol, I’ve always fantasized about getting a Palestinian girlfriend. I think that would be a bit hard though, for a variety of reasons.

      1. I’ve said this before, but the strangest thing about Ashkenazis is that their ancestors generally come from Slavic countries, from Poland to Russia basically. Yet they don’t look anything like the Slavic host populations. And they also don’t look like the Palestinians or nearby peoples like the Syrians. They have his strange, mysterious look to them. Can anyone explain this?

        1. Not true. A lot of Ashkenazim look like Slavs or Germanic peoples. It is true that there are certain characteristics among Ashkenazim that are common among central Asians but we are generally indistinguishable from the European population.

        2. No you’re not. I have no trouble spotting Ashkenazis even without any caps or any clothing. Ashkenazis don’t look anything like Slavs. Does Adam Goldberg look Russian to you? He looks like he’s right out of the streets of Istanbul.

        3. Adam Goldberg is not a good example. At least use someone with real Turkic features like Barbra Streisand or Bob Dylan for your example.

My dad and I have red hair and blue eyes and rosy skin. My sisters are blonde. My Grandmother is blonde haired blue eyed. My grandfather had Central Asian features but hes of Georgian/Bukharian/Persian descent.

    2. I think you’re letting the clothes and garments they are wearing affect your perception.

If you saw the middle kid from the first picture all dressed up like a Hasid with Payot and everything you would be convinced he was Ashkenazi.

  5. David Wrote:

David, I could not have said it better, myself. I just don’t like seeing bullshit sugarcoated. Regardless of who is doing it.

    1. It’s not incumbent upon Jews to do that. So could you please stop forcing Gentiles to learn about your supposed suffering? Then it’ll be even.

      1. @ Reality Check

Why is it always incumbent upon Jews to recognize every injustice?

        It’s not.

However, the problem is that Jews often promote this whole “uniqueness doctrine,” which basically asserts that other peoples’ suffering is somehow incomparable or not as important as Jewish peoples’ suffering.

Hence, it’s okay for the likes of Bernard Lewis (British Jew, historian, and pro-Israel neocon), Elie Wiesel, and others to deny the magnitude of genocides against other groups, or even deny those genocides all together (like the Armenian genocide).

But by god, if you don’t recognize the Jewish holocaust or provide sufficient support to Jews or Israel, then you’re an “anti-semite.”

Read Norman Finkelstein’s “The Holocaust Industry” for more perspective.

Anyway, Reality Check, what really pisses people off about Jews is their fake moral posturing. They want to be seen as misunderstood, enlightened and wonderful victims who are altruistic and opposed to injustice on moral grounds. They want to “teach tolerance” and “educate” people about the holocaust from a supposedly moral perspective.

But other peoples’ problems/suffering/genocide? The oppression and ongoing genocide that they themselves are currently responsible for? Who cares!

        @ FPY

So could you please stop forcing Gentiles to learn about your supposed suffering? Then it’ll be even.

        Exactly!

So yeah, Reality Check, if we non-Jews no longer have to constantly hear about the horrors of the holocaust, then sure, you Jews can deny and ignore other peoples’ suffering all you want. But then again, we also get to ignore your past suffering and no longer be constantly accused of “anti-semitism” because of it.

        Deal?

      2. Bay Area Guy
I suggest you read The Holocaust in American Life by Peter Novick rather than quote from Norman Finkelstein. Finkelstein’s style is polemical/unscholarly and not to be taken seriously.

      3. Oh sure, Finkelstein is definitely a polemicist. In fact, he even spoke at my university during the Israeli Apartheid Week.

        Unscholarly? No.

He’s been praised by Raul Hilberg, one of the most prominent historians of the Nazi holocaust.

In fact, Hilberg claimed that Finkelstein’s analysis was actually conservative and moderate.

Also, go to youtube and watch Norman Finkelstein debate Alan Dershowitz, and then tell me that Finkelstein’s no scholar.

He’s a polemicist, provocateur, etc, but he does his homework.

You should read his book. He argues pretty convincingly.

  6. Lindsay
I have a question for you. Can you tell where I am based on my posts. Because you told Fp3yp you thought I was an East Coaster.

    1. I’ve always thought you were an East Coaster, from the time you showed up here. But there is something I don’t understand about you. As I said, fpy went to school in Jew York, and I think he’s still near there. No more than 100 miles away from NYC. I don’t think he’s moved very far at all. But I don’t think he’s in NYC anymore. He graduated and left.

There is something funny about you. You’re on the East Coast, but a Northeasterner like David and fpy? I don’t know. Maybe you used to be, but you’re not anymore. I don’t know where you were raised, but you’re not in the Northeast anymore. Are you one of those Southern Jews? Or Mid Atlantic? You don’t fit in with the north or south of Eastern Seaboard. I don’t understand you.

      1. But seriously. How would you classify him racially? Is it just me or is he one of the most Oriental looking Jews I’ve ever seen?

  7. I think Ashkenazim have a lot more European genes than Tel Aviv geneticists are willing to admit. After the holocaust, there was a movement to disassociate Ashkenazi culture and Yiddish from their Germanic origin. But as Lindsay has stated in a previous post, the Germans and Ashkenazim became one.

  8. Maybe Abe Foxman has some Asian genes. How would you classify Norman Finkelstein? He looks pretty Slavic to me. Or would you say his Mom slept with a Nazi during the war to avoid admitting there is a European component to Ashkenazim.

    1. Do you really think Foxman looks Asiatic? That’s what I’ve always thought. Probably Central Asian.
Finkelstein looks more German than Slavic.

        1. Correct. Asians, men and women alike, store fat differently than Caucasians do. Lets face it.

Everyone looks like shit when then get fat. Asians look the worst. Stay lean. That is my advice. Or you will look like Abe Foxman.

        2. Vietnamese an southern Chinese are pretty scrawny. But Koreans, Mongols, northern Chinese etc. can be pretty big, both in terms of build and height. It’s just that too many Asians in America are of south Chinese or Southeast Asian extraction, leading to the stereotype of small, skinny Asians.

        3. Oh, I know. Had a Korean girlfriend years ago. Her family was taller than my Iranian half. A lot taller. Shorter than the White half, though.

Koreans are some of the best looking Asians, me thinks.

        4. If only more Mongols, Manchurians, northern Chinese, Koreans, native Siberians, hell even Kazakhs, migrated to America to fix the image given to Asians by Vietnamese and southern Chinese.

        5. By the same logic, could you say more northern Europeans such as Russians and Germans are better looking than the “woggy”, swarthy Mediterraneans such as Greeks, Sicilians, Jews etc.?

        6. Nope. I’ve always had a thing for Mediterranean women. Especially Southern Italian and Sicilian. My favorite in the world, in fact.

          Just my taste.

The only reason I would ever move to New York.

  9. Nope. I’ve always had a thing for Mediterranean women. Especially Southern Italian and Sicilian. My favorite in the world, in fact.

    Just my taste.

The only reason I would ever move to New York.

    Hell yeah. I love Meds!

  10. I don’t 100% agree with this. Not all Armenians look like Jews. If that’s the case then I’d say most Georgians and Azeris look like that too. People from Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan look almost the same for the most part except the Azeris seem to have a little more Oghuz Turko-Mongol admixture in their gene pool.
