The Incredible Shrinking Middle Class

22 statistics show that the American middle class is in bad shape and getting worse. Any reasonable Left party would do something to ameliorate these figures. Such a party is not the Democratic Party in the US. The Republican Party, of course, supports the bad guys on every one of the metrics below.

The Tea Party Movement is fake populism. On virtually every one of the metrics below, the Tea Partiers are with the plutocrats and against the have-nots. It’s “upper-middle class populism” except that such a thing is not really possible.

Actually, the Tea Partiers resemble a lot the petit bourgeois base that supported fascism in the 1920’s-1940’s in Europe. It’s important to note that in no European country did most of the workers support fascism. The blackshirts in Italy were formed in 1921. They ran through the cities and the countryside, smashing rural peasant and urban worker protests. The Brownshirts in Germany did much the same thing.

German workers never supported Nazism. They always supported either the Communist Party or the Social Democrats. It’s important to note also that the entire US media, as far as I can tell, supports the bad guys and opposes the middle class on every single metric below. That is because the media is owned by plutocrats.

• 83 percent of all U.S. stocks are in the hands of 1 percent of the people. • 61 percent of Americans “always or usually” live paycheck to paycheck, which was up from 49 percent in 2008 and 43 percent in 2007. • 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top • 36 percent of Americans say that they don’t contribute anything to retirement savings. • A staggering 43 percent of Americans have less than $10,000 saved up for retirement. • 24 percent of American workers say that they have postponed their planned retirement age in the past year. • Over 1.4 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009, which represented a 32 percent increase over 2008. • Only the top 5 percent of U.S. households have earned enough additional income to match the rise in housing costs since 1975. • For the first time in U.S. history, banks own a greater share of residential housing net worth in the United States than all individual Americans put together. • In 1950, the ratio of the average executive’s paycheck to the average worker’s paycheck was about 30 to 1. Since the year 2000, that ratio has exploded to between 300 to 500 to one. • As of 2007, the bottom 80 percent of American households held about • The bottom 50 percent of income earners in the United States now collectively own less than 1 percent of the nation’s wealth. • Average Wall Street bonuses for 2009 were up 17 percent when compared with 2008. • In the United States, the average federal worker now earns 6 • The top 1 percent of U.S. households own nearly twice as much of America’s corporate wealth as they did just 15 years ago. • In America today, the average time needed to find a job has risen to a record 35.2 weeks. • More than 40 percent of Americans who actually are employed are now working in service jobs, which are often very low paying. • For the first time in U.S. history, more than 40 million Americans are on food stamps, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture projects that number will go up to 43 million Americans in 2011. • This is what American workers now must compete against: in China a garment worker makes approximately 86 cents an hour and in Cambodia a garment worker makes approximately 22 cents an hour. • Approximately 21 percent of all children in the United States are living below the poverty line in 2010 – the highest rate in 20 years. • Despite the financial crisis, the number of millionaires in the United States rose a whopping 16 percent to 7.8 million in 2009. • The top 10 percent of Americans now earn around 50 percent of our national income.

  1. Robert, I can think of at least one Republican is sincere about wanting to improve citizens’ lives. What do you think of Ron Paul and his ideas?

    1. No way. Libertardianism is elite plutocratic politics. It’s worse than Republicanism or DNC Democratism. It’s the worst of all.

You lack an understanding of class and economics. Read Marx for starters. Marx’s analysis of capitalism has never been surpassed.

Libertardianism is neoliberalism on fucking steroids. It’s the ultimate in extreme, radical, insane neoliberalism. It’s like late 19th century capitalism, you know, the kind of capitalism that gave rise to the Communist Manifesto, the Paris Commune, the US populist movement, the Russian Revolution and the biggest Socialist vote for President that the US has ever seen (Norman Thomas).

      You don’t understand economics.

      1. Of course, the ideal party would be pro-economic justice and anti-Cultural Marxism.

But then again, that’s asking for too much.

Can’t have a party that simply wants to improve the lives of everyday people.

      2. Then why is he feared by the Establishment? And he seems to be populist in the sense that he wants all bailouts and corporate welfare to end and he wants to abolish the Fed.

        1. We didn’t have a Fed in the late 1800’s either and we had wild, insane booms and busts with horrible Depressions.

We didn’t have corporate welfare either back then, that I’m aware of anyway. Anyway, corporations don’t need it. Liberatardianism has never been tried anywhere on Earth except maybe in the Wild West and recently in Somalia. Wonderful time, The Wild West! Wonderful place, Somalia!

Why does the Establishment hate him? Not sure. He wants to reel in US imperialism, but that’s a dubious project, as US capitalism runs off US imperialism. He wants to cut off Israel.

I don’t know why they don’t like him, except that his project is batshit insane. The Establishment doesn’t mind stupid and insane projects, but his may too far out.

  2. Robert, you said my naming various important Jews as causes of our economic situation was the socialism of fools. Why don’t you give us a detailed, class analysis that show how I am wrong?

    1. Dude, the entire capitalist class of the US, represented by both political parties, in particular the Republicans but also the Democrats, created this mess. Sure, it was the bankers and the FIRE sector (finance, insurance, real estate), but the entire US capitalist class is in bed with the FIRE sector, loves them and supports everything they want to do. There are no sectors of the capitalist class who oppose the FIRE sector that I am aware of.

Anyway, the FIRE sector is an extremely mixed class of capitalists. It’s not just a bunch of Jews! I bet there are more Italians than Jews working in FIRE in New York. Phil and Wendy Gramm were two of the worst culprits in this whole mess. Phil Gramm is just a White Gentile toad, and Wendy Graham is a Korean princess who married a frog prince named Phil. Are they Jews? Come on.

The FIRE sector is not a bunch of Jews. Even the banks are not a bunch of Jews. There are hardly any Jews in US commercial banking. It’s just a bunch of corporate White Gentiles in suits. There are Jews in investment banking, true, and they are important, but they don’t run it like they run Hollywood.

There are all kind of fuckwads in investment banking. A lot of them are just White Gentiles. One of the worst ones of all was some asshole from South Asia, I think maybe Sri Lanka.

Even Lehman Bros. though the CEO was a Jew, 7-8/10 of the Board were non-Jews. The corporation is owned by its stockholders, mostly just a bunch of stinking rich White Gentiles.

  3. Missing from the last few discussions is the simple obvious fact that there is no conflict between the interests of the jews and the rest of the ruling class because the jews effectively ARE the ruling class – 40% to 50% of the billionaire class, with the rest of the super-rich inextricably dependent on an international financial system which is itself dependent on a vast illegal money-laundering (drugs, arms etc) operation – ALL banks are involved in this, ALL government are paid for by the bankers. This system depends on the deep historical networks developed by international jewry. In a system based on money issued as debt by private banks plus the fractional reserve scam, the first into the game gets everything – the house can’t lose. The first into the game were the Rothschilds. In the late 18th and 19th centuries they developed their international banking operations, played nations off against each other – if anyone opposed them, then their enemies could get loans for arms but they couldn’t – and entangled the old money, the ancien regime, intermarrying with them and snaring them in their spider’s web. This continued and expanded – yes there are maybe 50% gentiles amongs the ruling class, but they do not have access to these ‘networks of trust’ so they are junior partners. The whole edifice of money and banking masks, as Marx said, a social relationship of power – that ultimately what we say when we mean someone is a billionaire is that the US military will ensure that a billion people will do a dollar’s worth of work for this person if required – choose your own variation on this theme. This is a social convention, an accounting convention elevated to godhood, a conjuring trick – if we cease to believe in it, they have no more power, like the Wizard of OZ. But as Marx pointed out at great length, ‘ capital’ is the water we swim in – its ramifications so subtle and hard to see. Our whole edifice is built on this fiction – take it away and our whole civilisation has to be rebuilt, and how many would starve in the process? Even the ‘Bobby Fischer Option’ is unlikely – that’s a military takeover, shoot the top 500,000 jews out of hand, then clear out all the rest from the administration, law, academia, media …. Trouble with this is that the military itself is a part of the whole system and is inextricably linked to it. Read Peter Dale Scott or Alfred McCoy on the role of the CIA and the military in drug-dealing. They scarcely bother to disguise it anymore – it’s common fare in the bourgeois colour supplements, CIA running heroin from AfPak to Kosovo. Who launders the money, and is there a high-ranking soldier who hasn’t been ordered to engage in stuff that can be used to destroy him if he gets out of line?

And it is in the interest, therefore of the gentile ruling class, no matter how they resent the domination of the jews, to maintain this system. So there are jewish interests as capitalists, which are just the interests of the blind god of capitalism – buy cheap, sell dear, eat everything, fuck the world…; and there are specifically jewish interests , and Israel is not necessarily top priority. The main ‘jewish’ interest of the jewish component of the ruling class is to avert the gentiles playing the ‘jew card’ against them – as a minority in all the lands they live in, they are vulnerable. This is a self-perpetuating alienation – their only bargaining chip against the goy elites is their access to these faux-ethnic exclusive networks, so they can’t abandon their ‘jewish identity’ , which has become essentially a mafia rather than an ethnicity.

So, to the topic of this thread – the jews are a small percentage of the overall US population, a larger % of the middle class, and about half of the super-rich. So anything which increases the power of the rich against the rest is in their interest as jews as well as capitalists – and so the destruction of the middle class. This will probably be accompanied by the internationalisation of the US military, the bankers’ enforcement agency, like the Roman army. We can see the shape of this already with the Bilderbergs, Trilateral, IMF, World Bank.
But, if the elites weren’t so heavily jewish, would they do any different? The complete disempowerment of the lower orders would obviously be the objective of ANY elite.

So yes, so far so good; the problem is the criminality built into the system The jewishness is just incidental.
But there’s another side to it, two other sides in fact: Israel and its lobbies; and the blatant racist practices of US jew-firsters. I’ve said enough already and I know I don’t have to spell out what the problem is with these, so let me just say that it’s not racism, anti-semitism, or the socialism of fools to tell these piss-takers where to get off. There are laws against this shit – registration of agents of foreign powers which all Israel’s advocates should come under. And laws against discriminatory practices. Use these laws! Demand your rights! Stop hiding your head in the sand, or alternatively indulging in ridiculous Dungeons and Dragons white nationalist fantasies! Just organise to take back your democracy!

  4. The democrats will do anything to avoid discussing class. As the economic collapse continues, this is going to be a disaster for them.

I hardly ever look at DailyKos anymore, but I looked at the comments under a Tim Wise article last week. That was a snide article where he addressed an unemployed white guy.

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/7/5/881817/-Collateral-Damage:-Racism,-the-Economy-and-the-High-Cost-of-White-Ambivalence

He pummeled the guy with his usual barrage of statistics that said “no matter how bad you have it, there are black people who have it worse, so suck it up”. Then at the end, he said “Only real solidarity can save us now.” This is the guy who does nothing but piss on real leftists and any attempt at class solidarity. He focuses exclusively on blaming white people for their ambivalence toward race issues, but exempts himself from class issues.

DailyKos being the echo chamber that it is, the commenters mostly clapped like they were at a Stalin speech and the first one to stop clapping would get shot. Well, except for one guy who attempted to discuss class and got beat down by the rest of them.

None of the commenters seemed to have gotten the memo that the Tea Partiers are mostly upper-middle class and educated – petit bourgeois like most of the Kosniks. They talked about Tea Partiers like they were all ignorant trailer park dwellers. It’s the bad, stupid, poor white people who are behind all this. We are the good, educated, (affluent) white people. This allows the Kosniks to avoid confronting their own class privilege.

  5. To Rob:

We didn’t have corporate welfare either back then, that I’m aware of anyway

Yeah we did.. arguably more pronounced in some industries back then than what we have now…. think of the railroads and their land grants.

  6. Your Nazi history is way off, Bob. Many German workers supported what became informally called the Gregor Strasser wing of the Nazi Party, out of which Goebbels came, incidentially. Also the Nazis recruited many disenchanted ersthile Communists.

I won’t bother to run thru the evolving economic
policies of the Nazis thru the 1930s, which had some effect on the worker appeal, but is superfluous to the basics on which you err above.

  7. Bob, on the Jews, you really need to study, methodically the debates between Jim Petras and Norman Finklestein.

Petras nails the Jewish ethnic motivation, which Finklestein downplays, substituting an inaccurate
class-only motive, for Zionist ownership of US Mideast policy.

Since Finklestein still is critical of the Lobby, capitalism and Zionism there is large agreement
between the two, but Petras proves a good part of your –inferred–assumptions are a little off track.

    1. Quote : There is little question in anybody’s mind about the special relation between Israel and the United States. Israel is the largest recipient of US foreign aid to the tune of more than $3 billion dollars a year, plus miscellaneous additions like surplus weaponry, debt waivers and other perks. Israel is the only country that receives its entire aid package in the beginning of the fiscal year allowing it to accrue interest on it during the year. It is the only country which is allowed to spend up to 25% of its aid outside of the United States, placing such expenditures outside US control. Apart from financial support, the United States has offered unwavering support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and for the ongoing oppression of the Palestinians, and has systematically supported Israel’s refusal to make any effective peace negotiations or peace agreements. It has vetoed countless UN resolutions seeking to bring Israel into compliance with international law. It has allowed Israel to develop nuclear weapons and not to sign the nuclear anti-proliferation treaty and most recently it strongly supported Israel’s attack on Lebanon in July of 2006. Support for Israel cuts across party lines and is extremely strong in Congress where criticism of Israel is rarely if ever heard. It also characterizes almost all American administrations from Johnson onwards, with George W. Bush being possible the most pro-Israel ever.

What is the reason for this strong support? Opinions on this matter vary greatly. Within strong pro-Israeli circles, one often hears that the reason is primarily moral: the debt that the United States owes Israel in the aftermath of the Holocaust; the nature of Israel as the sole democracy in the Middle East; Israel as the moral and possible strategic ally of the United States in its War on Terror. Within circles that are less supportive of Israel and which are less inclined to view Israel and Israel’s conduct as moral, opinions vary as well. One opinion stems from the position of Israel being a strategic ally of the United States – its support is simply payment for services rendered coupled with the stable pro-American stance of the Jewish Israeli population. Noam Chomsky, among others, is a proponent of this view. According to the opposing view, the United States’ support for Israel does not advance American aims, it jeopardizes them. The explanation for the support is to be found in the activities of the Israel Lobby, also known as the Jewish Lobby, or as AIPAC (the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee), which uses its formidable influence to shape American foreign policy in accordance with Israeli interests. The opinion as most recently been associated with an article published in the London Book Review, co-authored by Professor Merscheimer of the University of Chicago and Professor Walt of Harvard University.

      http://www.normanfinkelstein.com/article.php?pg=11&ar=978

You guys are in some deep s***

      1. the debt that the United States owes Israel in the aftermath of the Holocaust;

But what damn debt do we owe the Jews?

If people are so guilty and moral, then let the Germans give 3 fucking trillion a year to Israel.

If any country should be hated in the Middle East and fucked up because of Israel, it’s Germany, not us.

I’m so goddamn sick of us getting entangled in neocon adventures just for Israhell.

        1. It would better if NOBODY gave any money to that filthy bandit state.

Well of course, that would be the ideal situation.

My point is that if any country should support/kiss Israeli ass, it’s Germany.

        2. I honestly think that if it weren’t for Israel, there would have been no 9/11.

Of course, as Robert rightfully points out, American imperialism existed long before Israel and neocons, and will continue to exist.

However, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ve become increasingly involved in the Middle East following the formation of Israel.

Sure, there would have been imperialism elsewhere, but why the Middle East?

And no, it’s not just oil. We get most of our oil from outside the Middle East.

        3. Pat Buchanan used to be a hardass Cold Warrior, but after the Soviets disappeared, he became isolationist in foreign policy. So I’m guessing the rise of Jew neocons kept US foreign intervention alive after 1990.

  8. The answer can be summed-up in one word:

    REAGAN.

And the dumb fucks who voted for that dumb mick cunt, B-Movie actor and tool of the ‘Bloomingdale set’*.
Reagan’s forebears were Paddies – dumb imported Irish muscle used to dig canals etc.It would have been better for America and the world if he stayed at that game.
Blame also the stupid shit-cunts (you know the type, blue-collar red-necks who ‘enjoy’ beer, hunting and ass-holedom) who voted for that sack of shit. Now they’re paying the price – they’ve been pauperized while the rich got richer.Ha ha ha ha.
Their daughters have been pimped out to Pornoville, California where they undergo multiple, massive dick entry by mega-poded black bucks in an effort to survive Reagan’s society. All the gratification of micro-phallic tribalist bankers on mega bucks), named ‘Morty’ or ‘Milton’.Ha, ha, ha, ha.

    *Bloomingdale group.

Shadowy syndicate of Californian multi-millionaires who controlled their puppet Reagan (known to the by the code-word ‘the guest-man’ – due to his work as GE mouthpiece), who were mainly concerned with cutting their personal tax bills, hence the tool Reagan.Named after prominent member, the late Arthur Bloomingdale (of that ilk), multi-millionaire store-boss.Bloomingdale was, of course, embroiled in a sex scanndal involving many hookers and the unexplained death of certain hookers who turned state’s evidence (vide PANCOAST).
Bloomingdale was also involved in the Palm Beach ‘Satan Cult’, of the late 80s (remember?), that also involved the Pulitzer dynasty and bizzarely ‘silver trumpets’ for ‘contacting’ Satan.
(Google all of the above if you don’t believe me).

  9. While the economic loss of the middle class is indisputable and lamentable, I think that the loss of certain middle class values is of even greater concern. Some of these values can be quite inhibiting and it’s understandable that so many impulsive, lively intellectuals of the last century wanted to crush them, but they had to realize what they’re going to supplant them with for the mass of men.

While a select few may be able to go it alone and survive by their wits and be their own moral guide, most people need guidance. Hell, even the select do. The simple values of self-restraint, merit, playing by the rules, forward thinking–all middle class values–are necessary to everything we currently think of as civilization. I get annoyed being around them for too long, but I wouldn’t really want most kids to grow up bohemian or hick. It helps give me “structure” and the middle class on the whole is rather open to change and new ideas, which the lower classes aren’t. I still get annoyed, but I’ve got to admit there isn’t yet much of a better option I can think of, because hardly anybody’s born rich.

Basically, I went to the part today and I saw a bunch of pregnant 16 yr olds, various hicks of all races, the usual romp of morons and sluts, making you horny for no good reason and then going over to the guy in board shorts with tats all over his back. In my mind I felt like a whiny geezer but I couldn’t help it. These people have a crappy culture. I was the only one with a book and was afraid as I walked over the bridge I would get insulted for it. It’s like middle school all over again. It’s some sort of lower class mishmash culture that all the races are adopting. They probably hang their walls with beer banners and babe calendars. Anyway, a lot of these people were probably “middle class” economically. But big F-ing deal. All that really means is they can afford to drive SUVs and eat out. If you spread the money to them and they don’t grow up and ascend to a reasonable level of civilization then what’s the point of them having money? Maybe I’m just getting pissed off by American culture. I love America, I tell myself. But do I? Maybe it was flawed from the start. Has this always been our general level. And isn’t the truth that this country was set up for businessmen, landowners, lawyers, moneymakers of all kinds? We don’t name cities or roads after writers or artists. Industrialists, statesmen we adore, but mention you like to read and write at a family reunion and everyone will stare at you, then somebody will say, “but how are you going to make money with that?”

  10. the poors shouldn’t complain. it’s their own fault they’re poor. why do the poor have cell phones, children, dogs, and cars. Last time I checked, walking was free and a used bike is less than a monthly bus pass.

and they have the nerve to argue for free healthcare. How about they get their big butts off the couch and jog around the block a few times. that will decrease their need for expensive surgeries for worn down joints, cure depression and decrease BP and cholesterol.

Instead of wasting money on drinks in a club & starbucks, they should be putting that money aside for their elderly years. enjoy now & suffer later is the name of the game losers.

Why are people buying large homes? A two bedroom home will do just fine. pay if off in 10 years and save money. 100 years ago a family of 19 would immigrate to this country, stay in a 10×10 shack, sell peanuts and become middle class.

Everybody want to keep up with the Jones and the Jones can’t keep up wit their darn bills.

Those guys on Mallstreet work hard for their money, they don’t owe one red cent to these hand out MFers. work hard, suffer and deny deny deny and you too will one day have something.****

        1. why thank you lafleur. Now tell what your earlier comment mint?

Maybe I was wrong about those Maoist Third Worlders. I say bring on the Khmer Rouge right now.

          robert i’m 23

    1. I have a hard time believing you wrote that rightwing crap, chic.

chic is a bourgeois Black, apparently. She likes to hang out at Abagond all day where they go on and on about Evil White People, but I have never once heard them utter the C word. That’s class.

Obviously, chic has no understanding of economics.

        1. Class.

Sorry, I wrote that because I thought you were serious.

There are tons of rightwingers on this site. Why they are here, I have no idea. This is a Leftwing blog.

        2. There are tons of rightwingers on this site. Why they are here, I have no idea. This is a Leftwing blog.

they come for the race stuff. that part gets them going.

      1. actually robert, that read like I hate poor people period. Poor whites don’t buy much $5 starbucks coffee according to scrip. That’s for middle-class/ floating debtor class yuppies&buppies 🙂

  11. Maoist Third Worldists are those poseurs who believe Americans – uh, I mean Amerikkkans, no matter how poor, are hopelessly reactionary pigs.

You can savor some of their logic here:

    http://monkeysmashesheaven.wordpress.com/2009/07/24/the-average-joe-amerikan/

You have to be careful when talking about “project dwellers who hate their lifestyle.” Do they hate it because they want even more than they already have–because they don’t have chateaubriand on every plate and an SUV in every garage? There’s nothing progressive about that. Maoist-Third Worldists acknowledge that even “poor” Amerikkkans in low-income housing projects are members of the global bourgeoisie.

    You can’t make it up.

The Khmer Rouge attempted to revert Cambodia to a purely agrarian-based communist society, rampaging across the country and leaving about 2 million skulls in their wake.

I should have known you were joking, but I read your comment pretty fast and it’s sometimes hard to tell when people are joking on the internet. Especially on this blog’s comments, which, you gotta admit, can be a freakshow. 😉

Basically I was joking: okay, if people really are stupid enough to believe the stuff in that rant, fuck it, bring on the bloody revolution! Make total destroy! Down with Amerikkka! Yee-hah!

    1. well there are some people who believe that stuff in my rant and there is even a little bit of it that I believe too, but just a little bit 🙂

      1. That’s the worst bunch of rightwing crap. Everyone who works should be respected. There is no such thing as a lousy job.

That line is, “The poor are poor because they blow all their money on stupid stuff. If only they saved their money, they would be rich!”

Very common with 3rd World rich and bourgeois types. I have heard it from bourgeois Filipinos and Chileans.

        1. It’ s not because the right-wing is necessarily wrong in what they’re saying, but rather, it’s the self-righteous condescending spirit of it. I mean, technically, if the poor really did “turn around”, pray to God, then I think their lot in life would improve.

But then again, a lot of the rich, are not rich because they’re Christians. Instead, again, it’s a self-righteous show by people who probably naturally inclined to be smart and clean (high IQ). These rich people might even say they’re Christians, offering Christian or Catholic advice but…..

        2. Some are naturally inclined to play baseball, for instance. So the rich, the Japanese, etc..you name it, some groups are inclined to be superior – in a sense. But it doesn’t mean they’re better people in moral POV.

    2. Yeah I have seen Monkey Smashes Heaven. That’s the classic Western Hard Left, straight out of the Weather Underground and all the rest of the nutjobs. I used to subscribe the WU’s theoretical journal, Overthrow! I think they still print it out of San Fransisco. I wrote checks to the John Brown Book Club. They were true Commies. They would wait like 10 months to cash a $6 check. LOL.

That site exemplifies why the Western Left has failed so miserably and totally. You would think they would try something different but oh no.

      1. I know the people on RevLeft.org make fun of them, and restrict Maoist-Third Worldists to the Opposing Ideology section. The gulag, ha ha ha.

The Monkey Smashes Heaven people and the Maoist Internationalist Movement they came from seem to be jokes even on the hard left.

Ridiculous hard lefties can be so entertaining.

        1. What chance do these guys have of putting their project into power? = Zero.

Ok, that’s a clarification. Then it’s just a circle jerk to me.

My late father said politics is the art of the possible. Any project that ameliorates some of those figures in the Shrinking Middle Class post is a good project. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and change takes a long time. You need to take the long view.

Even small economic and social changes have had a significant effect on my life and the lives of others like me? I should oppose that because it’s not the whole enchilada why now?

  12. German workers never supported Nazism. They always supported either the Communist Party or the Social Democrats. It’s important to note also that the entire US media, as far as I can tell, supports the bad guys and opposes the middle class on every single metric below. That is because the media is owned by plutocrats.

They didn’t? But they died in the armed forces supporting it? They were bombed in Dresden because of it.

Yeah, I know the type. Self-righteousness reaching higher than the Tower of Babel.
